Stars & Stamps MWT K-9 Card

This week's Mid Week Throwdown Challenge at OWH's Stars and Stamps was to make a K-9 card. I used one of the free digi stamps available over at Operation Write Home that was designed by our fearless leader, Sandy. Besides being a wonderful organization Operation Write Home also offers all kinds of free things to assist any card maker to get cards made for our deployed military. They offer us free digi stamps, free OWH stamps for the backs of our cards, Tips and Techniques and Challenges to help us all make the best cards we can. You can't ask for more from and organization. I am very proud to be able to say that I am associated with them.
Back to the card, I colored it with Copic Markers and matted it onto a Scalloped Square Nestabilities that I cut out from SU's Elegant Eggplant card stock. The sentiment is also a Free stamp from OWH and I cut that out with SU's Scalloped oval punch. The designer paper is actually a page from last year's Scrapbooking Calendar that a dear friend of mine gave me. I dotted the scallops with a Signo White Gel Pen and I was done. My only hope is that when someone receives this "belated" card, they will smile and not remember that it is late.
Just thought I'd let everyone know that when I went to bed last night there was already 2 inches of snow on the ground. It is now raining and I hope the rain washes it all away. Hello Spring, where are you??? Have a great day and thank you for spending a minute here with me today.

  1. I like this! I mean I REALLY like this!!! I just LOVE that dp you used, and the image is colored beautifully! Like you suggested......if I received this, I'd be smiling so much I'd probably forget all about my birthday! LOL
    Too cute!
I hear you on the white stuff. Mother Nature has a wicked sense of humor apparently, but I'm not very amused with it all! LOL
    Have a great weekend!

  3. What a cute card! You picked the perfect sentiment for that sad (but very cute) looking Ciara.
