S & S Mid Week Throw Down

Hello from Hot Massachusetts,
Today it is in the 90's and very humid and tomorrow is rumored to be hotter with even more humidity. Every time I walk outside to water my plants and it is like walking into a steaming oven. Right outside our door, in a hanging plant, a red breast robin made a nest and has given birth to three babies. It is so hot I am worried about them in this heat so I have gone out there three times so far today to mist the flower pot and both the Mama and her babies (when she is not there) stick their little heads up and open their mouth for the dripping water. It is so cute to see.

Well on to my card. Today the Mid Week throw Down over at Stars and Stamps is to make a Thanksgiving Card.
I was trying to picture a nice cool day while I was creating this card. The card base is SU's Very Vanilla and I used the Dotted Cuttlebug Embossing Border along the top portion of the card. The image is from SU's set titled Harvest Home and I colored it with Copics. I cut it out and matted it with both Oval and Scallop Oval Nestabilities. I also used SU's Peach Parfait and Alcohol Ink paper on this card. I ran the Alcohol Ink paper through the Big Shot with the Swiss Dot embossing folder. The sentiment is from Memory Box stamped in Momento Black Ink. The flower is from my box of artificial flowers that I never thought I would use on my cards until last night when I saw Stars and Stamp's Tuesday's Tutorial by Donna. You can also see it over at Donna's blog DJ's Own . She showed us how to deconstruct a flower and put it back together again so that it could be easily used on a card and go through the mail without any problems. Thank You Donna. I have already made a couple of cards today using flowers, YAY!. Well I think that will do it for me today. I'm off to the kitchen to start dinner. Thank God for Air Conditioning or I don't think we'd be eating tonight. LOL
I know every one's time is very precious and I do appreciate each and every crafter that takes a minute to stop by. Thank You. See you tomorrow.

  1. This is the perfect thanksgiving card! I love how you colored and sponged the main image! It's SO pretty! That tiny flower makes the cutest embellishment too!
I bet your little baby birds were thankful for the water in this dreadful heat! It was 102 on our back deck today and the temps felt more like 110 with the suffocating humidity! I'm SO thankful for my central air!! Tomorrow's forecast? HOTTER than today! Whew!!
    Stay cool!!!
