A Holiday Door

Good Tuesday Evening everyone. I certainly all of you in the North East have your power back by now. It was a beautiful fall day here today. You'd never know we just went through a snow storm a couple of days ago. OK on to my card for today. I really hope everyone appreciates the fact that CASing is the highest form of flattery. I found this card that was made by a SU demonstrator, Dawn Olchefske. She has a wonderful blog titled DOstamping with Dawn found here. She is a very talented lady and makes many beautiful items, but this one really caught my eye. You should really check out her site. I made a couple a changes to her original card just to put my own spin on it. I didn't have the woodgrain stamp that Dawn had so I used the closest thing I had. The two layers of the wreath are punched out from SU scalloped punches. I added the Whisper White Ink to represent snow and a few Liquid Pearls and Stickles as decorations. The door knob is punched out from SU's OWL punch. Everything is assembled with demensionals. This was the only red ribbon I had here today, but I think I'd like to add some nice silk ribbon.
I'm looking for some help from you wonderful ladies. My question to you is would you add a small "Happy Holidays" sentiment on the bottom of the door or leave it plain. Sometimes I just can't make a decision and this is one of those times. I'd really appreciate your thoughts on this one. I'l be waitning to hear from you. Enjoy the rest of your evening. See you tomorrow.

  1. OH WOW, WOW, WOW!!!! Donna, this is absolutely fabulous! LOVE IT! I already know I'm going to have to CASE your CASE! Or at least attempt to! I'd leave it just as it and not add a sentiment since it's so pretty like this. Wonderful!!
I also went over to Dawn's blog and it's great.

  2. I agree with Lynn! Leave it alone, it looks fabulous just the way you created it! I think I like your weathered background more than the woodgrain on Dawn's blog to be honest! It looks more like an old door! TFS the link, and I know I'm gonna have to case this one too :) NJ!!

  3. EXCELLANT! Love your holiday door. Wreath is a great idea and so easy, will be keeping that idea on my blotter....I think the senitment should go on the inside, so as not to take away from the fabulous door!

  5. I love the weathered background too. What a great card! Thanks again for your previous tip on doing the gold outlining with Nestabilities; as you may have noticed when you visited my lacey card yesterday, I'm putting it to good use. It's so fun to learn from one another! Congrats on winning the blog candy too!

  6. Oh, I really love this one, Donna! Fabulously simple but what a great design. Love the weathered look to the door panels! You're right about Dawn's blog being full of wonderful things! I've added her to my 'follow' list. Thanks.
