Stamps R Us Challenge

Back Again with a card for the Stamps R Us challenge found here. They challenged us to make a Valentine/Love themed card. I came up with a CAS type card, and I am kind of happy with the finished look of it. I just embossed my white card stock three quarters of the way down with the Swiss Dot folder then I used a Cuttlebug Border Folder that says "with love". My final step was to score the bottom inch or so with straight lines. The scoring and the border punch do not show up that well in the photo, sorry. My beautiful heart was created from my new Memory Box die, that I just LOVE. I matted everything with SU's Real Red card stock and placed it all on a Whisper White card base. I think that will do it for me tonight. Thanks for stopping by again. I'll see you tomorrow.

House Mouse *LOVE* Challenge #112

Good Monday Afternoon. Today's card is for the House Mouse Challenge found here. If, by any change, you have not stopped by the HM & Friends blog, please do yourself a BIG favor and do so now if you wants to set your eyes on some gorgeous "works of art". The HM&F design team really goes all out to produce some adorable cards. On to my card. I did not start out to make a yellow and green card, but I usually color the flowers in this image either yellow or purple and today I decided on yellow, which determined the rest of my card. I think I'm going to give this one to my Hubby and he'll like a change from red anyway, I'm sure. So my image is titled "Sleeping Under Flowers". It is one of House Mouse's,easier to color, stamps but it is also one of my favorites and one of the first ones I bought. I colored it with my Copics and matted it, as you can see, with black. I used the MS heart border punch and SU's heart punch and die. The paper is from Basic Grey's Picadilly collection. The card base is SU's Certainly Celery. The little hearts are the cut outs from the border punch. I hope this little guy brings a smile to your face just like he does to mine every time I look at him. Thanks for taking a minute out of your busy lives to stop by here. See you again later on.

Gert Well Soon

Good Monday Morning, today I thought I'd post a card I made for a friend of mine that is having surgery today. I used one of my favorite images, Doctor Rhubarb from Sweet N Sassy Stamps. They have a whole line of Rhubarb stamps, you should take a look. I colored him with Copics and cut him out with with a Label 10 Nestability. I edged the inside of the die with a black Multiliner before removing the image from the die. With the pen in his pocket and the lines that I added to his little clip board here's hoping that he will be ready real soon to sign her discharge papers. The background paper is pink Parchment card stock and I ran half of it through the Big Shot with the SU Square lattace embossing folder. My sentiment is from Hero Arts. I hope this card cheers her up a little bit when she gets it. I only know that Rhubarb always makes me smile when I see him. Thanks for stopping by today. See you again tomorrow, if not sooner. I hope all of you have a beautiful, healthy day.

S & S Sketch Challenge #106

Hello - My card today is for the Sketch Challenge over at Stars and Stamps. I was very happy to see this sketch this morning because my mind immediately went to work and I knew exactly what I wanted to do. That doesn't always happen. LOL I used SU's Certainly Celery cs as my card base. The paper is from a pack of paper that I got at The Christmas Tree Shop and it does not have a manufacturer's name on it. It was another one of my great finds this past week, 48 beautiful sheets of paper for just $4.99. Anyway my strip was made by punching both sides of a strip of SU's Lavender Lace cs with a MS punch and then adding this pretty little ribbon that has been in my stash for years. As you can see I used the same punch for my end strip. The image is this beautiful dogwood from Gina K Designs set titled Dogwood and Butterfly. I can't say enough about this set. I just think it is gorgeous. I colored it with Copics and cut it out with a scallop circle Nestabilities die. It is not showing up in the picture, but the flower center was finished off with Yellow Stickles. I popped it up for some added dimension. I used my new Corner Chomper on both the card base and the punched strip. I decided to leave this one without a sentiment, but I think it would, maybe, make a nice Mother's Day card. Well I suppose I should get something done around the house today so I'm off for now. See you tomorrow. Thank you for spending some time here today. It's greatly appreciated.

SNSDC38 Dessert Element

Good Friday Afternoon everyone. I'm playing catch up today because I have been shopping for two days. Yesterday I went to Joanns and Michaels with my gift certificates and coupons. Then today, my LSS, Right At Home Scrapbooking, had a yard sale and I also had a gift certificate there. So now I need to spend some more time re-organizing to fit all my new "goodies", but that's a good thing. My card today is for the Sweet N Sassy Digi Challenge. We were challenged to add a dessert element. I used the Berry Sweet Cocoa image, colored it with my Copics and cut it out with a Circle Nestibility. I ran a multiliner around the inside edge of the die before removing the image from the die. I cut out two Cherry Lynn dies and then cut them in half to come up with the green and red doiley die that I then edged in gold. My sentiment was computer generated and punched out with the word window Punch and two of the Modern label punches from SU. I added some Bakers Twine from SNSS. My background is embosed with the Swiss Dot folder. Well I don't have any strawberries in the house, but now I'm in the mood for fruit so I think I'll go get a clementine. I hope everyone enjoys their evening and I'l like to say thank you for stopping by today. See you again tomorrow.

The Liebster Award ~ ~ Passing It on ~ ~

Today I was one of the lucky recipients of the Liebster Award that I received from Jen over at The Sparkle Within.
If you haven't been to Jen's blog yet, I'm shocked, but do yourself a favor and go there now to see all of her showcased talents.
Liebster is German and means 'dearest' or 'beloved' but it can also mean 'favorite'. The idea of the Liebster award is to bring attention to blogs with less than 200 followers. So, in the spirit of good fun I am passing this award on to five other bloggers. Please stop by and visit them.

The Rules are:
1. Show your thanks to the blogger who gave you the award by linking back to them.
2. Reveal your five picks for the award and let them know.
3. Post the award on your blog.
4. Bask in the love from the most supportive people on the blogshare-other bloggers.
5. Finally and the best rule of all..........have fun and spread the love!

So we are suppose to pick five bloggers to receive this award, which is a very hard thing for me to do because there are SO many of my wonderful blogger friends I would love to give this to, but here it goes:

Carol (http://ourlittleinspirations.blogspot.com/)
Lynn ( http://creativecraftsbylynn.blogspot.com/)
Sue ( http://www.suestamping.com/)
Connie ( http://mygrammysattic.blogspot.com/)
Harriet ( http://allycatcards.blogspot.com/)

All of these ladies (and many more of you) inspire me every single day and for that I sent you a Big Thank You and this award. I hope you enjoy it.

S & S Midweek Throw Down

A quick post today. This card is for the Midweek Throw Down over at Stars & Stamps. They have asked us to make a card using bling (but no glitter). My stamp and sentiment are from Hero Arts. I colored the image with Copics and then added both black gems and rhinestones to the flower centers as my bling. I'm not totally happy with this card, but I guess you can't always like what you produce. I'll see you again tomorrow and hopefully I'll have my MoJo back by then. Thank you for taking the time to stop by.

Fresh Picked

Here I am with another card for my OWH box. It is a CAS type card, which is my favorite type of card to make. I embossed the black panel with the cuttlebug "heart" ef and the I just put together a flower and glued that on top of a Nestabilites Heart Circle Die. The sentiment is from Simply Stamped and I cut with out with a Ribbon Tag Nesti. The ribbon is from SU. Thank a bunch for stopping by. Hope to see you again soon.

Thinking of You

Good Monday Afternoon. I thought I'd post a card that I made to send to a friend that will be going into the hospital for a surgery next week. I just wanted her to know I am thinking of her. I started out with a Basic Grey card base and added a piece of Pink Parchment Card Stock and ran that through the Big Shot using a SU embossing folder. I used SU's scaplloped border punch on both the pink and grey designer papers. I colored the pink part of the bow with a Copic Marker. That's about it for me for today. I'll see you again tomorrow. I'll be here and I hope you will be also. Enjoy your evening.

Easter/Spring Card

I'm back again so soon. WOW! Over at the Operation Write Home facebook page they are looking for Spring/Easter type cards. Here is the first one I did today. It is loosely based on Sketch #12 from OWH. I fudged the sizes a little bit. Anyway the papers are from my stash. The sentiment stamp is by A-Muse Stamps and the Bunny Stamp, which I embossed in DetailWhite ep, is from Inkadinkadoo. I'll try to work on more of these types cards this afternoon. Thank you for taking a peek. See you all again soon. Enjoy the rest of your day.

S & S Sketch #105

Good sunny Sunday morning to all of you out there in Blogland. Our snow is gone and the sun is shining bright this morning. It's gorgeous today, but it's going up to 48-53 tomorrow so we are going to have a slushy mess for the next couple of days. YUCK! My card today is one that I've made as an Any Hero card that will go in my next OWH box. My sentiment is from a retired SU set titled Best Yet. I decided to take a little artistic license with the three strips. As you can see I used one strip that I embossed with the plaid ef and added two ZigZag strips down the middle to give it the appearance of a third stripe. The designer paper is from a pad of paper that has the cover missing, so I'm sorry but I can't tell you who it was by. I've had it for about 6 years now. I added some stars in the bottom corner just to bump it up a bit. Hope you all have a lovely day and I would like to thank you for stopping by my blog today. It's always appreciated. I'm going to start on a "spring" card now which was what that they were looking for on OWH's Facebook page yesterday. I'm behind schedule already. LOL See you later on.

You Mean The World To Me

I'm Back with another CAS card that will be going in my next Operation Write Home Box. I am trying very hard to get this box filled by tomorrow night because I'd like to ship it out on Monday. According to OWH the card count is way down for this month so if anyone reading this post can help by making some more cards to send to our overseas heroes, please do so as soon as you can. So my sentiment, which is from Katie & Co, was stamped and embossed with black embossing powder on some SU designer series paper. The side panel was made with an EK Success punch which I then matted onto black to match the sentiment piece. These felt flower pieces I had in my stash. Thank goodness for that shash, HUH? This card was based on Sketch #1 from OWH. Well Back to the crafting table for me.
Thanks for stopping by, see you again soon.

SNSDC37 - Easel Card

Good Saturday Morning, Well it started snowing here in Massachusetts about 45 minutes ago and is suppose to snow all day, so I am hoping to get a lot of crafting in today. For my post today I made my very first easel card which was our challenge for this week's Sweet N Sassy Digi Challenge. I used the Rhubarb's Heart digi image and colored him with my Copics. I can't decide if I like him in the lighter shades of brown or these darker shades. Anyway I cut him out with a Circle Nestabilities which I edged with a black Spica pen before removing it from the die. My dp is from a retired SU pack and then I just stamped little circles with hearts on it for an added touch. I dug out an old corner punch and framed both my image and sentiment pieces with that punch. I also used a MS punch in both pink and black and off set them for the top of the sentiment piece as you can see. The "Hello" stamp is an old SU stamp and the "Thinking of You" is a Hero Arts stamp. I also added some little gems that I picked up in the dollar bin at Joann's this week. I will add this card to my next box that is going to OWH which will be going out the first part of next week. I hope to see you again later on today with some more cards. Thanks so much for taking the time to stop by to see my cards. It really means a lot to me. Enjoy your Saturday and if you are in the snow belt, don't go out and shovel too much.

House Mouse Challenge #111 Black and White

I'm BAAAAACK! this time with a House Mouse Challenge card. We were challenged to make a card just using Black and White. This can sometimes be hard, but last night in bed I thought of this particular stamp and thought I could make it look like a scene in the starlit sky. I hope it translated that way to all of you. My sentiment also came from House House. I cut out the image using both the Circle and Pinking Nestabilities. The ribbon is from SU and the pearls were in my stash. I hope to see you again tomorrow, but in the mean time I'd like to thank you for stopping by today. Much appreciated.

Crazy 4 Cocoa Challenge #33

Hello - - - Today Carol over at Crazy 4Cocoa Challenge challenged us to use our punches. My image is Gardening Cookie and I colored her with my Copics. I matted the image with a blue card stock that was in my stash and also used my SU picture corner punch. The sentiment is from Gina K Designs and I punched that with a SU scallop oval punch and matted it with the same oval and used SNS bakers twine. My background paper is also from my stash and I used a SU embossing folder to give it some personality. My final touch was a little blue flower with a yellow brad to match the flower on the flower pot. Thank you for stopping by and I will be back tomorrow.

House Mouse & Friends Challenge #110

Can you believe I am here AGAIN today? I can't it believe myself. This is my third posting for the day. I will be MIA for a couple of days so I wanted to get all my challenges in and I am hitting the deadline on this one. It ends in fifteen hours. The HM&F group challenged us to a NEW card. It can be a new stamp, some new product, a celebration of a new house, a new baby, whatever you'd like. I decided to use one of my newest House Mouse stamps I have which is titled "Nose To Nose In Flowers" (so cute). I colored the image with my Copics and then I sponged a very little bit of Bashful Blue chalk for a sky effect. The designer paper is retired from SU and I used my new Picket Fence punch by MS after I stamped some Very Vanilla CS with the SU weathered stamp to make the fence looked a bit more realistic. The sentiment is from SU and it is cut out with a Nestabilities Grommet Tag. The ribbon is from my stash and I added a few silver adheseive dots after a little bit of piercing. I am looking forward to the next HM&F challenge tomorrow. Well I think this is going to be it for me today and for the next couple of days. I should be back on the scene Wednesday. Thanks you, again, for stopping by. I really do appreciate it. See you in a few days.

S & S Sketch Chellange #104

Here I am back again. WHEW - two post in 4 hours. I like it when I can get on a roll like this. Operation Write Home's Stars and Stamps Blog has challenged us to use the sketch above to make our cards this week. I had fun with this one and I challenged my eyes coloring these small flowers with my Copics. I cut the images out with a SU punch and then edged them with a Copic Marker. The green paper is from my stash. The card base was embossed with a Sizzix folder. The ribbon is from Michaels and I've had it for about 6 years and this is the first time I've used it. As hard as I tried this morning I could not seem to get a good picture, but this card does look much more vibrant IRL. Thanks for spending some time here and if this is your second trip today, an EXTRA thank you for coming by twice in one day.

Outlawz CAS Challenge

Good Sunday Morning to all of you crafty ladies out there. I made this card for the Outlawz CAS Challenge. This week we were challenged to make a card using Bakers Twine. I used a Cuttlebug Heart embossing folder on all of my pieces as well as the card base. The hearts were punched out with a Creative Memories punch. The bakers twine is form Sweet N Sassy. I hope to be back again in a while with another challenge card. I'm on a roll this morning. Thanks a bunch for stopping by. Hope to see you later.

SNSDC36

Tonight's post is for the Sweet N Sassy Digi Challenge. Our challenge is to use monochromatic colors. I picked yellow because I wanted to color my Rhubarb Honey Bee. I used Copics and cut him out with a Scalloped Oval Nestibilities. I edged the oval with a yellow Spica pen while it was still in the die. My background paper is from my stash and I used a MS punch veritcally to give it some punch. The sentiment and sentiment punches are all from SU. Thanks so much for stopping by.

Close to Cocoa Challenge

Hi All, I've been MIA lately. I spent days rearranging my craft room to make it more easily workable. Also reorganizing items and I gave away things I hadn't used in years. Just a note: (I thought this was a good idea) I had a BIG bunch of colored copy paper and I gave it to a Nursery School for the children to color and draw on. Anyway today's Close to Cocoa Challenge is to make a card using something new. I used the Football Cocoa because Superbowl is coming up. A lot of the cards I make go to our overseas military personnel via Operation Write Home so I tried to incorporate football into a card for a hero to send home to his or her loved one. I know it won't get there in time for the Superball, but I think this one could be used year round, at least I hope so. I colored the image with my Copics and cut it out with an Oval Nestibilities. The background paper is embossed with a Sizzix embossing plate and I just added white dots. The sentiment is computer generated and I cut that out with my NEW Pendant Nestabilities Die. I added a couple of zig zag pieces with some left over white card stock that was embossed with SU Square Lattice ef. I'm not feeling myself today so I also do not feel very crafty so I'm afraid this card is going to be it for me today. Doesn't that just figure? - my room looks pretty good and is neat as a pin and I don't feel crafty. Thank you for stopping by and saying Hello. It's very much appreciated.

We Are Smashin

Well I'm back again today. Wow what a productive day I've had. I got a couple of cards made this morning, ran some errands, did some shopping and started my "Smash Book". Over at Color Me Creative Classroom Suzanne started a new group called We R Smashin, Scrappin & Journaling. This is going to be a fun group with lots of very talented ladies in it. You can buy Smash Books and all sorts of accessories too, but I decided to make mine myself. So today I started. From what I've learned a "Smash Book" can be anything you'd like: a diary, a journal, a little scrapbook, or a place for notes and ideas, anything you want. It's your book you can do with it what you like. I decided to make a book filled with ideas of future projects I'd like to make along with lists of blogs that have cards or other creations that I'd like to CASE someday. So I can keep this list all in one place instead of lots of little sticky notes all over my room. I also figured I'd keep a list of my favorite Copic Color Combos and maybe even some sample colorings in there also. I plan on playing it by ear, day by day.

So this is the cover for my "Smash Book" I just started with some retired SU designer paper and added some computer generated words. Assembed a flower and added a big black brad. I ran some blue card stock though my crimper and edged it with my trusty gold pen and added a butterfly brad that I got from Michaels. I used a MS border punch on both green and blue card stock and then glued together them side by side. I bound it all together with my Bind It All and now I think I'll add some ribbons to the binders and I should be all done. Now I just need to faithfully fill my book with ideas and wonderful, useful information. Well that's about all the energy and creativity I have left in me today. I think I'm going to sit myself down and have a nice drink of soda and relax. I thank you for stopping by today and I hope to see you again tomorrow.
I wish you all a great, relaxing evening.

Any Hero Card

I've been working on some Any Hero Cards this week. This little image and sentiment were from Dee Dee Digis. I colored the ribbon with my Copics and just added a few punched out stars as well as some star gems. Thanks for stopping by. Hopefully I'll be back later with more cards. My plan is to spend most of the day here in my craft room.

OWH - Mid Week Throw Down

Good Wednesday Evening, Well after looking around my craft room I have figured out that I must have been a very good girl this past year, or at least hubby thought so. I was lucky enough to get loads of gifts and gift certificates. I have not even been shopping yet. Oh, I can't wait to go. Anyway my card for the Stars and Stamps Mid Week Throw Down was made with a digital image titled Rhubarb Cuppa Joe from SNSS. I colored him with Copics and sponged Certainly Celery ink and edged the image with a green Spica pen while it was still in my NEW Nestabilities die. My sentiment is one of my go to stamps from Hero Arts and that was also cut from a Nestabilities die and attached with my NEW Ribbon. So I guess I followed the rules for today's challenge. That's it for me tonight, be back tomorrow. Thank you for spending some time with me tonight. I very much appreciate it.

Stamps R Us Challenge

I'm back with a card for the Stamps R Us Challenge. They have asked us to make a card using "What You Got For Christmas" or "Anything Goes". This is a thank you card I made for a friend of mine that gave me the Dogwood and Butterfly stamp set from Gina K Designs. I stamped the image, gold embossed it and then colored it with my Copics. I cut the image out using Labels Nine Nestabilities and I edged the inside of both dies with a Gold Pen. I used the Diamond and Stars Impressabilities by Spellbinders, that I also received for Christmas, on my card base. My final touch was to edge the card base in gold also. That will have to do it for me as I have to get to work putting my holiday decorations. Thanks a bunch for stopping by and I hope to see you again soon.

Thinking About Gardening

Over the weekend I felt like coloring something spring like so I went looking for my Gardening Cookie. I colored her with my Copics and then cut her out with nestabilities. The flower was made with a combination of dies and a punch. The designer paper is from last year's DCWV Winter Pack. thank you for stopping by, I really appreciate it.

S & S Sketch #102

Here I am again today with my card for the Stars & Stamps Sketch Challenge. I ended up reversing flower. It just seems to look better on the left hand side to me. The background paper is made from Alcohol Inks and the flower is made up of pieces in my stack. The sentiment is from Hero Arts. Thanks for taking a minute to stop by. See you again soon, I hope.

Outlawz CAS Challenge

Happy New Year to all. Last year had some ups and downs, so let's hope this year is all "ups". We have to keep a positive mind, right? The Outlawz CAS challenge today is to make a card with a new bright start using white card stock and no designer paper. I colored this new stamp from Gina K Designs, that I was lucky enough to receive as a Christmas gift, with my Copics then cut out the image and matted it with Nestabilities. I used a Tim Holtz embossing folder on my card base and added a small piece of SU's Elegant Eggplant paper punched out with a SU punch and a two-toned bow. CAS for sure, just the type of card I love to do. Have a great day and thank you for stopping by. I hope to be back later. I'm in a crafting mood today so I'm hoping to get a lot accomplished.
