S & S Sketch Challenge #106
Hello - My card today is for the Sketch Challenge over at Stars and Stamps. I was very happy to see this sketch this morning because my mind immediately went to work and I knew exactly what I wanted to do. That doesn't always happen. LOL I used SU's Certainly Celery cs as my card base. The paper is from a pack of paper that I got at The Christmas Tree Shop and it does not have a manufacturer's name on it. It was another one of my great finds this past week, 48 beautiful sheets of paper for just $4.99. Anyway my strip was made by punching both sides of a strip of SU's Lavender Lace cs with a MS punch and then adding this pretty little ribbon that has been in my stash for years. As you can see I used the same punch for my end strip. The image is this beautiful dogwood from Gina K Designs set titled Dogwood and Butterfly. I can't say enough about this set. I just think it is gorgeous. I colored it with Copics and cut it out with a scallop circle Nestabilities die. It is not showing up in the picture, but the flower center was finished off with Yellow Stickles. I popped it up for some added dimension. I used my new Corner Chomper on both the card base and the punched strip. I decided to leave this one without a sentiment, but I think it would, maybe, make a nice Mother's Day card. Well I suppose I should get something done around the house today so I'm off for now. See you tomorrow. Thank you for spending some time here today. It's greatly appreciated.

ReplyDeleteHi Donna,
ReplyDeleteSuch a pretty card! Loving all the gorgeous lavender and purple you have been using lately! It's so spring like and I can't wait for Spring, but have to admit, our winter (knock on wood), has been good, so far and I hope it stays this way fo the season. I've loved it!!
Oh, my! I love you card. It's so soft and pretty and the flower is beautiful.
ReplyDeleteBeautiful card Donna! I've always like greens and purples together and these are perfect. I've never spotted papers in my Christmas Tree Shop (the 2 near me are each about an hour away) but from now on I'm going to be looking. :)
ReplyDeleteDonna,
ReplyDeleteThis is simply gorgeous -- the intricate edge punches, the soft colors, the lovely paper, your wonderful use of Copics (and stickles) are all perfect. Simply gorgeous! Thanks for sharing and participating in this week's sketch.
Super lovely card! Love the image and all the textures! TFS!!!
ReplyDeleteBeautiful cards -- as all your cards are! You did a great job coloring -- not something I've tackled yet. The card could be Mother's Day or Spring -- it would be wonderful for either.
