OWV VCMP Challenges

I've been MIA for a few days.  I'm sorry about that.  This week has been a super strange one so here I am tonight trying to play catch up with all of Operation Write Home's Challenges.

This first card is for the "Beachy Thinking Of You Card" Challenge.  I used a SNSS digi image and colored it with Copics.  I cut is out with Nestabilities and I used a Cuttlebug bubble embossing folder.

I think this one is my favorite for the day.  This card is for the Hot Tropics Challenge.  We were asked to use Hot Pink, Green and Yellow.  I made my flower out of all three of those colors and the I matted that onto two Spellbinders Lotus Pendants Shapeabilities. I just offset the white one on top of the black one.   I don't know who the dp is by, I'm sorry, I think it might be Basic Grey.  The Sentiment is from Hero Arts.

This card is for the Masculine Nautical Challenge.  My image is a stamp I've had for years and it has no company name on it.  The anchor in the corner is actually cut out of the dp that I used for my background.  Thie image is so large in itself that I decided not to try to add a sentiment.

This card is for the  "It's A Party" Challenge.  I used a long since retired SU image and colored him with my Copics.  I paper pieced the balloon with the same designer paper as the background.  The bow is made with Ribbon from Michaels.  I decided I liked the look of the corner punches a little bit away from the edge of the paper on this particular card.

Well that's it for this batch of challenge.  I haven't tried the funky fold challenge yet, but I will attemp that one tomorrow.
I hope you are all having a good week.  See you tomorrow and thanks so much for stopping by.

I will be back later on in the evening to make my rounds and comment on all of the beautiful cards that I got a quick glimpse of.  Right now I've got to get a bite to eat.  I'm starving.

  1. Well, you haven't been around but I'm so glad you're back with these fabulous cards!!! Have you just been busy crafting all this time or what! These are super - really like the second one where you off=set the nestie. And that lighthouse is just gorgeous! All are so pretty Donna.

  2. Glad to see you back after your hiatus. :) Your cards, as always, are gorgeous. I love the fish brad you used on the first card and the paper piecing you did on the hedgehog card. Have fun when you try the funky fold!

  3. Wow! Each card is fantastic, each in a different way. I am so happy I don't have to choose a favorite!

  4. These are all so cute. The hedgehog caught my eye on the challenge page. I really like the lighthouse card.

  5. These are all such wonderful cards, and I especially like that lighthouse in NJ! That paper pieced balloon looks mighty cute too with all the striped red dsp. Your beachy card looks so peaceful and serene and the double lotus card is hot hot hot! Great job on all the challenges my friend :)

  6. Fantastic group of cards Donna! They are all really nice but I have to agree with you that the spellbinder on the Hot Tropics is amazing looking. The way the black sits behind it adds so much dimension!

I also love that you got that anchor from the DSP so it coordinates so beautifully. Great masculine design. I'm glad you made it to the party :)

  7. Hi Donna! I love each of your cards, and agree that the Spellbinders Lotus is eye-popping! I am tempted to get that one after seeing your beautiful card!

  8. Donna, I've missed so much on your blog because of my computer crash. I'm trying to get caught up on everything but may not have time to go back and comment on every posting. These cards are marvelous! I especially love the hedgehog birthday card and the lighthouse. Great color choices and papers. :-D

  9. Just love all of these cards...such a great job.
The birthday card caught my eye first, but then when I saw the hot tropic flower on that Shapeability pendant (which I don't think I've seen before), it blew me away! Lovely!!!

  10. Donna, you have made an excellent set of cards for the challenges. My post would be miles long if I mentioned how much I like about each one. I have to say, I do like each and every one. Hope your weekend is going great!

  11. I love your cute birthday card! What a great image!
