VCMP Challenge #10 Vintage

I'm back as promised with my version of a vintage card for the challenge over at Operation Write Home's Stars and Stamp Blog.  The background paper is from My Mind's Eye -  Lost and Found 6 x 6 packet.   Because it had a vintage look to it and already had the word Love on it, I figured I'd let the paper dictate the rest of my card for me.    So I dug out an image from Beccy's Place that I just love and instead of coloring it I just sponged Vintage Photo distress Ink around the image.   I embossed the photo corner punches with the SU Lattice Embossing folder. I added some SU ribbon and a little heart charm that I was lucky enough to win.  So that's it for my Vintage type card.  I really wish this style came naturally to me. The older I get the more I love it.

I think we have more challenges coming up so I'll see you all again tonight.  Again, thanks for taking the time to stop by.  I means a lot to me.

  4. Donna, your card is beautiful! I love the idea of printing the image in black and white and then sponging around it in distress ink. I am going to have to give that a try.

  8. WOW! You have done an amazing job at keeping up with ALL the VMCP Challenges! I found myself quickly behind and then never seemed to really catch back up.

I'm also dreading the cold temps due in and glad to hear they won't be sticking around too long. I really like the mild winter and it's been a blessing for me. You can be sure, that I'll be in ALL day, if it's that cold and luckily there is not a think I had to get out to do!!

I was thinking of you as I have now booked my flights down to Baltimore!! I'm very excited and looking forward to the trip. I'm sure by then, it'll be nice and warm, especially down there and I hope we all have fun. I sure wish it had worked out that you could have come along, if anything changes, let me know.

I'm all set and it's nice having all my plans made. I think I even had a ride to/from the airport and that's also a bonus! NOW I just have to sit back and relax and wait for the time to go!!

Take care and STAY warm tomorrow!!

  9. This is just about the sweetest card ever ;)
The ribbon completes the vintage style perfectly and your decision not to color in the image worked out nicely!
