Mid Week Throw Down

Hi All, I'm here with my card for the Operation Write Home's Mid Week Throw Down.  They challenged us this week to make a Father's Day Card. Here is my entry.
I usually stick to a CAS style for my guy cards.  I hope someone's Dad will appreciate this one.
The image is by Inkadinkado and I stamped it in Versa Mark and embossed it with Detail White embossing powder.  The designer paperis from SU and I cut it with my wavy cutter.  The sentiment is also from SU.  My light blue panel of parchment card stock was embossed with SU's Lattace folder. My final touch was to add four silver adhesive dots by Colorbok.  That's it for me tonight.  Thank you so very much for stopping by and I will hopefully see you again tomorrow.

  1. Donna, this is just so lovely! Almost too nice for a guy card (!) I have not gotten into embossing yet, but I would love to make something this nice...so maybe I should start.

  2. Oh, not only is that such a lovely card, I learned something. I was trying to get a white image on dark cardstock the other day and wasn't happy with it so I pitched it. Of course the trick to make it stand out is to use embossing powder! So, thank you for that!

Also, I just bought a Cuttlebug and some folders, and your lattice works so well with the grid paper on top, I really need to start using it to emboss. Great card! And super inspiration!

  3. Donna, great card. I like that it is simple, yet classic. It really draws your attention. I think the combination of texture and heat embossing works very well. Very nice!

  5. Great image for a guy card. You're so brave to emboss in white and it looks great. I always make a mess of heat embossing in contrasting colors. :)

  8. Donna, another winner! You make me want to whip out my embossing powder and heat gun. They've been idle for awhile now and your card is inspiring me to use them! Love the layering and the brads too. Great card. Thanks for playing in our Midweek Throwdown Challenge at Operation Write Home Stars & Stamps!
