Hello everyone, My card today is for our Mid Week Throw Down over at the Stars and Stamps Blog. Our challenge this week was to make a card with monkeys as our theme. I went to Squigglefly for a digital image of this adorable "Little Monkey" image.
After coloring him with Copics I cut him and matted him with SB Pinking Circle dies. I don't know why I keep saying "him" but I do think of monkeys as always being males. The photo corners and the sentiment circles were made with SU punches. My background paper was made using Alcohol Inks and I embossed it with a Cuttlebug folder that reminded me of Monkey's tails.
I have a great day planned today, my daughter is coming for a visit this morning then it will be off to lunch with one of my dear friends and then dinner with another dear friend, and finally home to spend the rest of the night with Hubby. All of this eating out is no good for my waistline but great for my heart and soul. I wish you all a delightful day. Thanks you so much for stopping by. I love the company.
Very cute card, Donna! The image is adorable and I really like your background! Enjoy your day!
ReplyDeleteHi Donna! That little monkey is so cute! Love your background too - you have really made some terrific ones with the alcohol inks.
ReplyDeleteSounds like you are going to have a fabulous day. Hope you have a lot of fun with your daughter and friends!
Such a cute and friendly looking Monkey!
ReplyDeleteCute card! Love the alcohol ink background. Your Yorkies are so cute! My Mom and Dad used to have one and they are such great dogs.
ReplyDeleteOh, he is just so precious! Some child is going to so love him! And I really, really like the background you made!
ReplyDeleteI hope your day was fabulous and your Yorkies are not only adorable, they made- me laugh because we boarded our three rescued dogs (a Shih-poo, a Malpoo, and a German Pinscher) at a doggie spa while we were at the coas. When we got back last night, the owner told us that Shadow, our 10 yr old Shih-poo had fallen in love with Sophie, a little Yorkie and had followed her everywhere, licking her and playing with her and they were inseparable during those four days. Who knew he was such a flirt? Now, of course, whenever he goes back, he's going to be expecting Sophie, his beloved Yorkie, to be there, so I fear we'll be dealing with a broken heart.
What a cute little guy. I love the way you used the embossing folder with the simulated monkey tails.
ReplyDeleteI hope your day was fabulous, as it should have been for you! That's a cute little monkey, and I love that you saw monkey tails in that beautiful background you created! I'm sitting this challenge out, as I have no monkey images :)
ReplyDeleteHave a fantastic evening and just reflect on all the fun you had today :)
Great card! Love the background! Glad you had a wonderful day!
