Midweek Throwdown - Friendship

Good Thursday Evening. We've spent a big part of the day preparing for Hurricane Sandy so I'm kind of late with this post.  We have to get it all done now because my Hubby works for the Electric Company and once the storm hits (actually even before it hits), I won't see him for days.  Anyway Operation Write Home is looking for cards celebrating Friendship for this challenge.
I went with an oldie but a goody here.   Both the image and the sentiment are from a retired SU set titled Pocket Silhouettes.  I always loved the simplicity of the stamps in this set.  I used a strip of retired Christmas paper also from SU on the inside of the card with the same scallop edging on the left hand side of that strip.  The scalloped edge was made with a MS border punch.   That is it for me today.  I'm hoping to do a little bit of coloring tonight before I sit down for the night.   I wish you all a great night and wonderful day tomorrow.  Thank you for taking time out of your busy schedule to stop by.

  2. I love the pocket silhouettes set too, and never ordered them?! What was I thinking? They make lovely cards, just like this one! I love that border punch too. Stay safe this weekend - it could still change course and veer out into the ocean. Keeping my fingers crossed for you!!

Wow, Sandy does sound like it's going to be a big one affecting a lot of people along the coast. Hoping it changes course, thinking of you.

  5. Hi Donna! Thank you so much for your visit, we are so glad you enjoy our blog.
Last night I got a call from my daughter she's studying at Ucon in Storrs CT. She was worried about"Sandy" and so are my husband and I. We don't have hurricanes here in Brazil. I really hope nothing happens. I'll be visiting her next week nov 3rd. Stay safe. Hugs Meg

  7. Donna, I've been thinking about all of y'all up there and that hurricane! Hopefully the brunt of it will miss everyone up that way! Stay safe.

This is lovely. I also love that stamp set and need to get it out and use it again. Really like the way you did the border on here too.
