OWH Challenge x 2

Hi All, This will be an abbreviated posting today.  The day has gotten away from me so here it goes.
Today over at the Stars & Stamps Challenge   blog they gave us two different sketches to follow.  Here is our first sketch for today.
For this card I used a SB circle and a SB Labels Ten die.  After cutting the Label Ten die out  I embossed it using a paisley Impressabilities and then sponged Peeled Paint Distress Ink over it.
I also embossed my vertical strip of green parchment card stock with the Swiss Dot ef.

Here is our bonus Sketch for today.

Here is my entry for this sketch.  I embossed the card base with Spellbinders  "So Trendy"
M-Bossabilities.  The stamps are retired from SU and I colored them with SU markers prior to stamping.  I just added a few strips of red card stock, holiday patterned paper, a few gems and I was done. (I just noticed that my gems are not straight).  I will definitely fix that before putting this card into my next OWH box.

That will do it for me today.  I'm off to catch the rest of the NASCAR race.  I thank you all for taking the time to stop by.  As always the company and comments are very much appreciated.

  3. Hi Stranger --- Hope you have been well. I'm finally catching up after a the Wonderful Wedding of my son, Brian! I can hardly believe he and Meg will be leaving next week for their big move to San Diego! It will be a bittersweet week for sure, but I did adopt their wonderful dog, Scout, who will keep me very busy and content! He seems very happy and enjoy laying at my feet while I'm in my craft room! I gave him his own blanket and space here and he has been a JOY!!

:) Hope to catch up with you SOON!!!

  4. Donna, I like the greens in your first card but the embossing on your second card is just striking! Great work - and I'm glad I'm not the only one that notices that gems aren't straight until I take a photo. Lol

PS Measurements for the candy pouch are piece of card, 41/2x12. Score at 2, 6, 8. The first score is the top fold over, the second score is the back, the third score is the bottom, and the last panel is the front. Enjoy!

  8. You did a great job on both of these cards! I love all the texture you added with the embossing on both cards. I just love those little holly leaves you stamped on the main image of the last card! Great papers on that card in addition to the embossing!
What did you think of the last lap of that race?!?! My heart stopped beating for a little while I'm sure! Thank goodness for "finely tuned athletes" huh? :)
