Shopping Our Stash #74

I'm back again with today's second post.  This card was made for the Shopping Our Stash Challenge #74, which is Out Of The Jar or Use A Jar.

I have to tell you that this card gave me such a hard time.   I don't have any jar images so I used items from my jars.  I knew I wanted to use SU's Gold embossing powder because I usually use another brand and I haven't used that one in ages. I also knew I wanted to use my SU Dazzling Diamonds glitter.  Most of my cards are made for OWH so I don't get a chance to use the glitter too much these days.  So here is my final take.  First off I stamped this image three times before I got a good stamping.  Then I thought I'd try using Flower Soft (instead of the DD) of on the roof and didn't like it.   So back to my original thought  -   Dazzling Diamonds.   Then I decided to stamp a sentiment on the top of the card and I did not get a good, clear stamping which is why you see an "added" red panel with a whole new sentiment stamped and embossed.  I decided to also dry emboss this panel with the Swiss Dot ef.  On top of all this I could not get a good picture of this card.  Who knew making one little card could be so exhausting.     So I think I'll go sit back and relax for a while. I don't think I'll be back today, but hopefully tomorrow.  Thank you so much for your visit.  I enjoy the company and feedback.  Enjoy your day.

  2. Hi Donna!
Your card may have given you lots of trouble but it was sure worth the effort! It came out beautiful! And I think the added red panel behind the sentiment was perfect! I love it when a boo boo turns out so well. LOL I've never had good luck with embossing. I always get too much over embossed areas. But you did it beautifully.
Thanks for dropping by & leaving me such sweet comments. I'm always happy to help you spend your money. hahaha I put the link for the Sizzix diecuts in for you. (I got them from Joanns.com)

  5. It may have given you a headache til you finished this card, but it sure looks gorgeous! I love all the sparkle, and those split panels too! What an incredibly clever way to save your card after the sentiment didn't turn out like you hoped it would! I never could have imagined trying that, but it looks fabulous!! This is just a stunning card, well done!!

  9. I know what you mean about exhausting. You just have to love a card that survives a whole string of oopsies, and comes out the other end looking this pretty! Bravo to you for sticking it out, Donna. Thanks for stopping by earlier. People think I am a worry wart, also, but as you said, it is better to be prepared.
