Pattern Play Homework - Seize The Birthday

Hi All, I jumped on the bandwagon and joined the On Line Class "Pattern Play" which offers so much about working with patterned papers. I'm very happy that I joined in. I've never had so much fun doing "homework".  I'm doing these cards out of order so I believe these two are from day 2 which profiled Resist on Patterned Paper.    I have very few background stamps and none of them worked well for this technique, but I went with it anyway.
In this first card I used an older SU background stamp which, I think, is way  too busy for this technique, but I used it anyway. Surprisingly enough  I ended up happy with the result.

For my second attempt I used a regular, larger stamp (also retired from SU)  and stamped in several areas of my pattern paper. I was kind of pleased with the end result of this one also. I am going to enter this card into the Seize The Birthday challenge.

I ran out last night to buy the Hero Arts stamp that was used in the video because I loved the look of the cards using that stamp.  I'll try again later on today with my new stamp.  I swore I wasn't buying anything new for a while, but you all know how that goes.  I'm just an stamping addict and can't help myself.  Off to try to catch up with my homework for this class, so I'll be back later with more cards to share.  Thanks a bunch for stopping by.  See you again soon.

  8. Oh, Donna, I love both of these and think the first one is great, even on that 'busy' paper. The blue just works fantastically on that gray pattern. The second card is a spectacular interpretation of the sketch! I'm hoping to get something done for that one this week. Thanks for the great inspiration. :-D
