Just Saying Hello

Well I managed to make a couple of cards today.  While I was cleaning my craft room a few weeks ago I found papers I didn't even remember buying (Isn't that a sign of a complete addict?)  and I thought they would make nice background papers for cards, so today I went to work on that.  I'm sorry to say I have no idea who these papers are by and I've probably had then 8 years or more. Here is my first card.
 I made this flower from the Blossom and Word Window punches from SU, which I CASEd from my dear friend, Carol,when she made this gorgeous card.  I also added a MS punch and a Recollections Punch for the center.  The sentiment is by AMuse and cut with a SB Ribbon Tag die.  I could not quite match the ribbon to the blue in the paper, but it does look a little bit closer in color in person. It was a white ribbon I colored with a Copic marker.

I absolutely love this background paper on my second card
 I made the pinwheel from old retired SU papers, but now that I look at this I think I'll make another one and make the base of the pinwheel in brown instead of the blue.  Not enough contrast for me.  This pinwheel seemed so big that I decided not to go with a sentiment on the front.  Two more cards for my next OWH box.  I've almost got my box full.  Well done for now, hopefully I'll get more made tomorrow.  See you soon and thanks a bunch for the visit.

  1. Great cards out of your 'found' papers!
    Pretty sure they weren't lost, just misplaced!
    I really like the Hedgehog card in the previous post too!

  2. These are both so pretty Donna! I just love love love that dsp on the first and how you beautifully matched the ribbon to it! That's really a pretty flower center too!! {thanks for the shout-out my sweet friend - it feels wonderful to know that something I made inspired you :) }
    I love the pinwheel card too, and oddly enough - I spent the better part of yesterday sorting through my scrap bin, separating by color. It enabled me to make a lot of backgrounds & cards with some of those scraps! I honestly believe I could make cards for the next year without cutting into any new dsp at all! LOL The spring cleaning bug must have bitten us both :)

  3. Donna, these are both so pretty! I'm so glad you found the papers and both of them made into beautiful cards. That first one is awesome with the flower in the center. It goes together so pretty with the paper. The second one - oh, I LOVE the colors you used on this! The pinwheel is so pretty and I know this one will brighten someones day! Love them!
