Midweek Throwdown

My card today is for the Stars & Stamps Midweek Throwdown  found here.  It calls for us to use our favorite colors. I think, like many, my favorite combo is purple and green, but while I was moving things around my the craft room yesterday and found this pile of Washi paper and it reminded me that around Christmas time I love vanilla, red and gold so I ran with it.
My cards will all have to be quick ones because starting yesterday I decided to totally rearrange my craft room, so needless to say, it is a humongous mess. I'm lucky I can find anything at all.   In addition to that my husband just got off of a 7 day working stretch and I want to find time to spend with him.  My timing on this rearranging project was not so great.
This card is just embossed with the Swiss Dot embossing folder by Sizzix and I added the panel of Washi paper backed with Real Red card stock from SU.  I punched two sides of a cs strip with a MS punch and ended up with circles. They are not perfectly lined up, but I'm hoping it will pass inspection by one of our heroes (please pass, please, please, please).   I just noticed that the panel paper is not even, so I will realign it when I finish here on the computer.  I guess these things happen when you are rushed.  I'll try to work on and post a ODBD card soon. See you all soon and, as always, I appreciate your visit.

  1. Donna, this is so pretty. I like how you punched the two side of your cs to get the circles. Pretty Washi paper, too.

Good luck with the craft room. I'm sure you will love it when you're finished.

  3. As soon as I saw this, my first thought went right to Christmas!! A favorite time of year for me, although it's not nearly as fun without my boys both being home! :(

  9. Take a deep breath. If we waited til it was the right time to do things, then nothing would get done. Love your card, and what you did with that border punch!
