S & S Sketch Challenge #167

Good Sunday Afternoon to all of you out there in Blogland. Sunday equals Sketch Challenges over at Stars and Stamps  .  I went with a quick and easy one today.

I decided to make the sentiment the focal point on this one.  It is an old Hero Arts Stamp and is one of my "go to" stamps for special birthday cards. I don't think you can see it, but I ran some score lines down both sides of the sentiment.    The stitch flower stamp is from a retired SU set.  The punches are all by SU also.  The border punch is by MS.  Very Vanilla, Rich Razzleberry and Garden Green are the colors I went with here.  It is nice but very breezy here today so I was working outside for a while this morning, thus the reason for quick and easy, not too much energy or mental stamina left.  I thank you for stopping by for a visit and I wish you all a good evening.  I'm hoping to spend more time in the craft room this upcoming week.  See you all soon.

  1. Hey Donna, it's great to see a card from you today! Oddly enough, I had the same stamp set in my hand recently and thought how cute it was, and that I need to use it soon! GMTA! I love the vertical scoring that perfectly balances the sentiment here, and I'm all for a simple design too! Don't work too hard now! TTYS!!

  2. I can see the score lines and what I great idea to highlight a CAS sentiment! I'm going to have to remember that! (I always say that when someone does something way cool, but inevitably I forget, sigh.) I also love the border punch. GREAT card!

I LOVE that red, which I have and used a lot at Christmas. I'm going to have to remember that it can be year round!

  8. Hi Donna- yes- I can see the score lines- and I like them- very nice to add texture and focus on the sentiment. I love the sentiment, the colors and your border punch. Glad you were out soaking up the vitamin D!! And I know, I know- simple and crop do not go together- unless you are my friend Nancy who is bringing NO supplies! she has not scrapped for many years, she gave her supplies away and is going to eat, chat, rest and assemble card kits that I am making! LOL Hey- I keep trying...one of these years I am going to get it right! Have a great week!

  14. Donna, this is so pretty and clean. I love Rich Razzleberry. Your scored lines add a lot of interest to your card and make it even prettier.

I spent all Saturday working in the yard. It was in the 70's and still is and sunny. Lovin' it! I will probably get back out and trim some perennial ferns today. The fiddleheads are showing up on them big time. Hostas are up and the world is looking better and brighter. Have a great week.
