Stars & Stamps Challenges

I'm back after a week or so off.  Just no MoJo at all.  It's probably the hot, humid weather we have been having this past week.  Anyway, the ODBD Challenge for OWH this month is to make a card with "stitching" on it (real or faux).  I don't do stitching at all so I went with the faux version.
Here is my card.

I used a SNSS image and colored him with Copics.  It was cut out with Oval and Scallop ovals by Spell Binders.  The paper is from a mat pack I bought maybe 5 years ago at Michaels.  The sentiment is by A-Muse.  I dashed (stitched) around the sentiment piece and pierced all the way around the card.  I'm hoping this will pass for "stitching".

My next card is for Stars & Stamps Sketch Challenge #180 found here. Here is the sketch
And here is my card.
This card went together quickly for me.  The sentiment is by CC Rubber Stamps and I embossed my vertical strip with a SU Fancy Fan embossing folder.  Both papers were in my stash.  The green paper is more of a bright Lime color in real live.  I just added a couple of SU Night Of Navy brads to match the matting I used and I was done.
I hope you all have a great evening and a terrific week ahead.  I'm off to spend some time with Hubby.  Haven't seen to much of him lately, as he has been working a lot of weird hours the past couple of weeks.  Hopefully I  will get back to card making on a more regular basis soon.    Thank you so much for popping in to say Hi.  I always enjoy the company.  See you all soon.

  1. It's so great to see you crafting cards again after your little "hiatus!" :) Rhubarb looks adorable dressed up like a little honeybee, and I love the simplicity of your birthday card! I hope you're staying cool indoors like the rest of us these days and feeling well! It's gonna be one long hot summer by the looks of things :)
Take care and have a great week!

  7. Hi Donna! Great to see and enjoy your wonderful cards! It's extremely hot and muggy in the DC area, too; you'd think we'd be used to it but it seems particularly oppressive right now with lots of overcast days and storms. Stay cool.

  8. Both of these are really great, Donna, but I admit the little bee bear just grabs my heart! I do stitching on cards the way you do, with a pen. Great job on it. :-D

  11. I love bee stuff right now and this image is adorable. I think faux stitching is wonderful and I like how you did it on that sentiment. Very cute card Donna! The second one has some wonderful texture to it and is great. I understand how the weather can effect you. Fall is just around the corner - keeping telling yourself that. Hugz!
