OWH Sketch Challenge #196

Sunday = Sketch Challenge over at Stars & Stamps.  I decided to make the sentiment the major focal point for this one because I just love it.
Both the sentiment and the image are from SNSS.  I paper pieced (yay) the snowman's hat and cup to match the horizontal strip. Those of you who know me, know this is not one of my favorite things to do but I was determined to do it today.  I dashed around the two focal pieces with a gold uni-ball pen.  The designer paper is by DCWV winter pack from three years ago.  I matted the two focal pieces with Night Of Navy cs from SU! so I decided to run  the same color marker near the outside edges of the card to kind of bring things together.  All was good until I guess somehow I ended up with some marker on my hand.  You guessed it those two stamped hearts are there for a reason- - - to cover up a smudge of blue marker next to the snowman. Just the one looked funny to me so I went ahead and stamped another on the other image.    Well that's going to do it for me today.  Thanks so much for taking a peek at my card today.  See you again soon.  I wish you all a great evening.

  1. Your paper piecing is just perfect and looks super. Oh, don't you just hate smudging, but you've repaired it and it looks as if those hearts were always meant to be there.
Don't know if you've heard I LOVE snowmen better than anything and this is just adorable. I do have a favorite snowman (been my fave for years...since my since my sis gave it to me) and I'm just waiting for the right time to use it.

  3. How sweet and darling is that? I enjoy paper piecing when I have a card it'll work on because it saves me from coloring. I had to lol about your hearts. That's how sequins got on my last week's card. Mistakes, especially ink smears, are merely embellishment opportunities.

  4. I love your paper piecing. I don't do it too often, but I always the end results. And we've all been there with our "fixes" on our cards. Luckily the recipients will never know. I love the soft greens and blues. Great job!

  26. Your card is sooo cute! I love that little snowman and the hearts may have been to cover an oops, but they look like they are supposed to be there - I was admiring them when looking at your photo before reading your write-up. I can totally relate about paper piecing. (I fight with my scissors.) You did a great job!
