SOS #125 Stitching

Over at Shopping Our Stash this week they requested that we have either faux or real stitching on our cards.  I went with faux because you would not want to see real stitching from me believe me. LOL  Here is what I came up with.
I have had this stamp (a round plastic stamp with a raised handle on it) forever.  I think I got it in a yard sale at one of our LSS.  I think it makes a great stamp for a boy.  I'm sure some girls would love it too, but my mind goes to boys for this one which is the reason I kept it kind of plain and simple.  Anyway I colored the stamp with markers before stamping it and then cut it out with SB dies.  The diamond shapes along the side are made from the SU! corner punch (smaller size). The designer paper is retired SU!   My stitching, as you can see, is on all the blue surfaces.  My final touch were the silver candy dots which, again, is the embellishment I tend to use when making guy cards because I think it is a nice embellishment without being too blingy if you know what I mean. This one will go off to Cards for Hospitalized Kids and I think I will make a few more like it in different colors.   Well I suppose I need to get to some housework before the whole day goes by.  Thanks for popping in.  Have a wonderful day.  See you soon.

  1. I'm going to have to case your idea for using corners in this way! I love that you only did faux stitching on the blue colors - what a great look, and a really fun kid's card as well! NJ!

  8. Donna, you Rock. This is such a fun card. Love the two tone diamond border and that sentiment. Housework, ugh, if it isn't yard work, it's housework or laundry..I wonder how two people can have so much laundry.....
