MWT - Valentine Card

This week our Mid Week Throw Down challenge is to make a Valentine's Card. I went with a "love" card in the event my card doesn't reach OWH on time.  This way it can be used all year long.
I had a terrible time photographing this card. Of course we all know that I'm not too good in the picture taking category anyway but this one seemed exceptionally hard.  The paper is from Christmas Tree Shop and it is ALMOST these colors (this being my big photo problem) The green hearts are actually Old Olive Green from SU! which is much lighter than photographed.  I added little pearls from JoAnn's to the hearts after I embossed them with a Fancy Fan Embossing Folder by SU!.  The sentiment is cut out with a Provo Craft die.  Hopefully the recipient won't care what the colors are supposed to be, because the important thing is that they know they are loved.  Thanks so much for stopping by my little corner of the world.  See you soon.

  1. Donna, your paper is so gorgeous and says love all by itself. Your embossed hearts finish off your "love" theme perfectly. And, I really like your die cut sentiment and the placement.
Oh, I hate when my photos don't turn out as I want. But, yours looks great. No worry. I do know how colors change, though.
    Have a fine day.

  2. It's a "Lovely" card!
Great designer paper used and I'm adding to my shopping list the embossing folder and the die that you used.
The green on my recent butterfly card didn't photograph true to color. Frustrating.

  4. What a beautiful way to tell someone you love them! That paper is so pretty and love the hearts and way you did the sentiment. Outstanding.

Don't worry about the photography bit - every time I use pink on a card I have the same type problems. It's just the way it is I guess! I think this is beautiful just like it is too.

Hope y'all are staying warm up that way!

  6. Those background papers are stunning with those pink roses, and I love the hearts and sentiment! I ALWAYS have trouble photographing any card with green color on it! It never looks like the true colors, so I hear you on that issue! Have a great evening!!

  7. Very sweet card with lovely papers (they look good in your pic so you shouldn't worry) and a very heartwarming message. Just the right kind of card for someone to send home! Hugz!

  8. I'm with you on the photo problems. Photography is not one of my skills at all! I think your card is really pretty, and I love that rose background paper. Your hearts looked very beautiful on my monitor, so IRL they must be gorgeous. What a wonderful card to send OWH for some service person to send to a loved one. You are special to do this! TFS & Hugs. Hope you're not in the ice storm path and that your power stays on.
