OWH Sketch Challenge #212
Hi All, I'm here today with my entry for the OWH Stars and Stamps Sketch Challenge. I found this one to be a fun challenge except that I am never happy when I make banners on a card. I love other people's banners, but not mine to I decided to go a different route for this one. Here it is:
I found this piece of double sided paper in my stash so I went with it. The strip is the reverse side of the top panel. I just punched out four circles with my 1/2 inch circle punch, then added flowers from the MS hydrangea punch and the final touch was adding small rhinestones that I got at my LSS yard sale many years ago. The sentiment is a die from Cuttlebug. That will do it for me today, off to do a little housework, lot of cooking and TV watching. It's just that kind of day around here today. Thanks for taking the time to visit. See you again soon.

Love the use of the little circles for the sketch element. :)
ReplyDeleteThey are both very pretty. Love the one that looks like piano keys and love the punched circles.
ReplyDeleteThis turned out great, Donna! Love the color combo and little punched flowers! The diecut sentiment looks terrific! Hope you didn't have too much trouble with the weather!
ReplyDeleteLooks wonderful! Love that patterned paper and the little flowers are adorable. LOVE that die you used for the sentiment too. Very nice!
ReplyDeleteHave fun cleaning and cooking, etc....I started out with a bang today on the cleaning - but got tired of it very quick! LOL! Have a good day.

Great little card, love how you used the flowers for the banners, very creative. It's funny how our "weaknesses" always leads us to more creativity! Thank you for sharing!
ReplyDeleteYour banner is is beautiful. Great color combo, and loved your idea for the punched circles & tiny flowers. A perfect trim for your dotted border on the top. Looks to me like you have a home run with this one. Enjoy your day. Sounds like lots of work to me! Hugs & TFS
ReplyDeleteI like the idea of not using the banners and using another embellishment, so cute!
ReplyDeleteI like how you rounded your corners on the bottom of the card. Great job with the circles and flowers to coordinate with the top portion of the card. TFS
ReplyDeleteThis is a fabulous card Donna, I love your take on the sketch.

What a great substitution for the banners! I love the little flowers inside the circles. I know how your feel about those banners - I found a great banner border die from Verve that I can trim three banners off of, otherwise, I'd never use them since I'm a wonky scissors user! Your card is fabulous - and I too really like how the flower embellishment picks up on the circles in the dp. Another great card!
ReplyDeletePretty card Donna and I like your take on the sketch. I'm sure your banners are fine, but I like your circles and flowers instead. Nice change. Thanks for playing!
ReplyDeleteVery pretty, Donna, and a splendid idea to use those little hydrangeas when you didn't want the banners.
ReplyDeleteEnjoy the rest of this beautiful day....at least, it's a pretty day here and hope it is there.
I love that you dance to the beat of your own drum, and your take on the sketch really made for a pretty miss you card! I love the tiny flowers and circles, and how the circles carried through on the dsp as well! Great card Donna, and when you get finished cleaning, please feel free to come do mine next :) I made home-made lasagna today, so it wasn't a total loss :)
ReplyDeleteGreat card and I love the way you were inspired by the sketch!!

Oh, I really love what you did with this sketch, Donna! Great papers. I never would have thought of using little circles with tiny flowers in place of those squares, but I really love them - so much better than squares!
ReplyDeleteYour ideas are amazing and you did the perfect touches. Great job!
