Owh Sketch Challenge #247

I wanted to share a card I managed to get done this morning while the snow was blowing.  We never did lose our power because it was so cold that the snow was fluffier than they had predicted and therefore not heavy enough to bring down any wires.  We still have (to this point) 15 inches and they say maybe another 5-10 before it ends tonight.  So I got both cards and hats made today.  Here is a card I made for Operation Write Home's Sketch challenge.

As you can see I didn't exactly follow the sketch, leaving off the horizontal strip.  I wasn't happy with anything I tried for that part, so I let it be.
I used a Di's Digi image titled Bearable Friends found here.    I colored it with Copics and did some playing around with a background for it.  It is cut out with a SB die.  The sentiment is by Hero Arts.  The purple dotted paper is from my LSS and I forgot the manufacturer, sorry. The green is parchment paper I've had for years and the other is SU! Lavender Lace.  I embossed the parchment with the Swiss Dot embossing folder.  That is about all there is from this craft room today.  Thanks for visiting.  Wishing you all a terrific day.

  5. Donna, so glad to hear you've not lost power. Somehow you're finding images I've missed at DeeDee's and each one is just cuter than the previous one. And this one has hedgies on it too, so how did I miss it? Love the way you've tucked the little bear's die cut over the purple dot rectangle, and liked the idea of the scallop border as you've placed it. The parchment paper is such a delicate color and shows off so nicely with the dark purple. Don't think I've ever seen any colored parchment paper (don't think I have any plain either!! ) Stay warm, and be cozy inside. TFS & Hugs

  7. I saw on the news how your area got hammered with the snow! Whew! They got it all wrong for us and we dodged a major bullet, but I'm not complaining!! We got about an inch or 2, and that was it!
Your card is adorable - oh my gosh what a sweet image! I love your green parchment paper with the purple panel, and WTG on making all those hats while you're snowed in! Stay warm, stay safe, and I'll have one of those s'mores you're roasting over the wood fire :)

  12. Awww, this is an adorable card Donna! I love that sweet image and I love how you have colored it. I really love this sketch too, OWH has such great sketch's anyway! Stay warm and I'm glad you didn't lose your electric in all that snow. We lucked out and didn't get much. I guess the weathermen said we dodged a bullet, well it didn't hurt my feelings. lol Hugs, Brenda

  14. HI Donna- great image and fabulous coloring! love your embossing and the shape of your die-great touches!I like that you left the strip off- I struggled with it too! We also did not lose power and I am so glad the snow was light and dry- not heavy and wet! Stay inside--and create-- I hear we are getting more- but I am afraid to see how much! Take care,
    Diane
