No Grilling This Week

Hello,    I  just thought I'd pop in today with some pictures I took of the snow out our back door yesterday.   The snow keeps coming, packing down and then more comes.  We actually have about 40 inches right now on the top of the little shed and the grill.  (got more last night after  I took these pictures.

We are in southern Massachusetts and yesterday our Governor informed us that crews have removed enough snow from Boston streets, alone,  to fill Gillette Stadium 90 times.   That's is a lot of snow.    So far most of the snow we have received has been rather light so not many power outages at all, but they are calling for a nor-easter this coming Thursday night into Friday with maybe another 8-10 inches of snow and yet another storm for Sunday night into Monday.  Fun, fun, fun.  It just means more indoor fun for us.  I am so glad Hubby has retired from the Electric Company or else I would have not seen him at all for these past two weeks.  For years he was gone during all these types of storms helping to put power back on for others, now he is home here with me which I am so very happy for.
This last picture is a shot looking down on the street and the red dot that you can see on the left is the red flag sticking up on our mail box. The brown mark is the mail box post.  The mailbox itself is not in sight at all.  There was not any mail delivery anyway yesterday.

There you have it, a look out our doors.  Thanks for taking a peek into our little world and I hope to see you again soon.

  1. Oh my... guess I should not be moaning after seeing this. Ours is just sheets of ice. Nope, I do not see a grilled steak in your future this week. Please hang in there, and take it slow.

  5. Wow, I can't remember ever seeing that much snow since I was a child (many moons ago). I woke up this morning complaining about the cold but now I'm feeling rather humbled. Hope your power stays on and you get lots of crafty time xx

  8. Donna, it is hard to imagine that much snow!! And I hear you are getting more on Thursday with another major snowstorm. Ours has melted away for the most part. Still some on the ground, but we see grass (very green grass) peaking through in places. But then, we only got 10 inches or so.
    Stay inside and stay warm!!
    Hugs

  10. Brrrr! For some reason I thought you were in PA. Our BFF lives outside of Boston, and he's having a ton of snow to shovel. I'm glad we're not visiting & have to deal with this! Also glad your DH can be home & cozy with you, instead of you having to worry about him out repairing downed lines. In So. Fla, we dealt with hurricanes & floods. TFS & stay warm. Hugs

  12. I'm so glad hubby gets to stay home with you this winter. You folks have really gotten the brunt of the storms on the East coast and I don;'t envy you at all. Love the photos, though. :-D

  13. That's a lot of snow Donna!!! And I am glad it isn't here! lol Although we have had snows like that many times. We've gotten snow this year but always seem to have lucked out and not gotten what they had called for. Didn't hurt my feelings in the least. But we have gotten ice, sleet and freezing rain. I'd rather have the snow. lol I'm so glad that your hubby doesn't have to be out in that mess helping to restore electric anymore! Nice to have your man home with you!!! Enjoy your time as you are stuck inside for a while. Hugs, Brenda

  14. Same here Donna -- It's been horrible...we have over 4' in MOST of our yard and the snow bankings are EVEN higher. Now it sounds like it's going to be the coldest air we've had in many years (below zero)...I could CRY!! This weather really does a number on me, but I do HOPE that once I have my surgery (only two more weeks)...tings will get better! Sending you a HUG and HOPING for a early and very NICE SPRING! We deserve it !!!

  18. Same here, and it is snowing now! Really getting boring. My husband drove an 18 wheel tank truck for 46 years and retired a couple of years ago, so grateful he is off the road and home with me and warm too. We also had long periods of time when he was stuck in bad weather and unable to get home until very late at night.

I hear you about organizing the craft room, I recently spent a couple of weeks doing the same, and now i can't find anything, which is why I did it in the first place......yikes! Seems like the only one that likes all this snow is Keeya........stay warm.

    Hugs

  21. Wow! That is a lot of snow. TFS the pictures - I haven't seen much of it in years. Grilling would be hard outside I can see, but there is always inside with a good cast iron skillet! LOL Hugz

  22. Yikes!! I've been watching the news and that's amazing. I did see some weather guy say last night that it was all powdery, which is bad for whiteouts, but it should hopefully either evaporate or blow away sooner than the wet stuff that just hardens into brown/black mountains of frozen slush. Stay warm and safe! xoxo
