Thinking Of You

I thought I'd share a card with you that came about by using left over pieces that I had on hand.   I had used a Cherry Lynn Designs die on a couple of different papers to make a card a while back and on some of them I just used the little negative pieces so I was left with these two main parts of the dies.  I placed one on top of the other slightly turned and I liked the look so that was my starting point for this card.
Then I remembered that last year I purchased the SU! Secret Garden stamp and die set and had never used them so I dug them out and this card started to come to life.  The papers are all SU retired.  The sentiment is by Hero Arts and I embossed the main panel with the Swiss Dot embossing folder.  I added a few Stickles in the center of the flower.
We are in the middle of another snow storm that started last night and will go until this afternoon.  The snow is not too bad (so far only 5 inches) but we have high winds so I'm trying to get some crafting done this morning in the event we lose power.   Thanks for your visit and I hope to see you again soon.
Wishing you all a nice Sunday.

  1. That was a wonderful starting point for your card. The negatives match that flower perfectly....'bout time you used it. :-) It's a very pretty CAS design, too.

Guess what? You may not have to send me any snow. The weatherman says we may get sleet and snow in the next few days...hard to tell how much. Anywhere from 1 to 7 inches.....that's quite a wide gap. Probably won't get a flake. But, it's very cold and I guess we will have ice, which I don't like. Can you believe a couple of times we had 10 inches of ice? Now, that is something for being so far down south.
Anyway, you stay warm and out of those winds. They're blowing here, too, and so cold. It's 19 degrees right now. Yikes!!!

  2. Hope you are staying warm. Winds and snow don't sound too fun - I remember those days when I lived in New Mexico. If we had them here in Alabama, the National Guard would have to come help us. Your card is really fun. I like the way the dies seem like an extension of the flower and the flower is super pretty. Thanks for stopping by to visit even though I have been MIA. Hugz

  10. What a great way to use those leftover die cut snippets Donna! I love how how it looks. I too have the Secret Garden stamp and die set-bought it used and have never used it yet! I need to get that puppy out and makes some pretty cards with it. Your card is just beautiful by the way!! It makes me think spring and I know you like me are ready for Spring. We got snow too last night, hubby and I were on our little getaway that chemo gave him. We were walking back from the movies to our hotel in the snow and of course the wind blew it right into our faces. We looked like snowman! I didn't think to get a pic of us and so wish I had. lol Had to go dry my hair before we could go eat. lol We only got about 2/3 inches but the winds are so strong, could hear it howl all night and of course all day today as well. We got up to temps of 2 degrees but with the wind chill it was "feel like -20". I'm sure you are seeing those temps too. Hopefully the wind will lay tomorrow or not be a bad. Keep warm and enjoy your crafty time. Hugs, Brneda

  13. Oh this is the perfect pick me up card for right now!!! As Mary (above) says this does shout summer!!! I'm looking at your photo from Feb. 10th...my husband said the same thing "No BBQing for a while for us" on the way home from the airport yesterday!! We went from about 26 degrees celsius to minus that in a matter of hours...lol!!! Have a most wonderful day Donna and keep warm...lol!!
    Take care,
    Beth

  14. Don't you just love when unused pieces are just what you are looking for to complete a card? I keep mine in a bag on the floor by where I stamp and root through it when I want something small to put on a card. Your card turned out so pretty, like the colors too.

We ventured out yesterday to a family birthday about 1 1/2 hours from us, and the weather held. So tired of snow and miserably cold temps. Even Keeya isn't staying out very long, and she loves the cold. Keep warm and cozy with your hubs and babies, this too shall pass, it might be June, but it will pass!

    Hugs
    Sue

  16. Fab card with a delightful spring feel to it, Donna! Whern all that snow begins to melt, you can ship ice chests full of it out here to California where our drought continues into its fourth year. :-(
