FINALLY - A Card

Hello everyone.  I've been MIA for over a month now and I apologize to everyone for not commenting on your blogs in such a long time.  We redid our entire house: carpeting, flooring, new furniture and decor so needless to say this house was in an uproar for quite a while and I didn't even have a working craft room for a long time.    I am back now and hopefully can stay on some sort of a regular schedule.  I made the first card I've made in over a month.  My youngest grandson is turning 21 in a couple of weeks so I thought I'd better get going on his card.
I made the paper with alcohol inks and stamped the SU image as well as the sentiment in Versa Mark and embossed it with Gold powder. As you can see I used black for my mats.  I'm happy with the way it turned out and I'm thinking (at least hoping) he will be to.  These kids and grandkids of mine are getting too old too fast.  I don't know how that happened since I'm only 29 myself.  LOL  That is the line my MIL used to use and now her new line is "I can't believe all my children are old enough to  collect Social Security".   Time does fly be doesn't it?  Well thanks for stopping by today and I wish you a great upcoming week ahead.  See you soon.

  2. Hi Donna, lovely to have you back. Remodeling is more stressful than building a house! At least it was to me. With all the uproar, who feels in the mood to make cards, even if you can GET to the craftroom. Love the pretty alcohol background with this shy deer. I like the way you've left the image as a monotone. (I've got this stamp and found it very difficult to shade with colors). It's much prettier just stamped and framed as you've done it. I think your grand will love it! TFS & Hugs.

  3. It's great to see you back to making cards again, and I can only imagine the turmoil of new carpets, furniture and the mess and chaos involved! I'm glad you found time to make this cute card for your grandson though! The background is beautiful, just like all those other backgrounds you've created over time! WB hugs!!!

  5. Good to see you and from what Carol said, I am very glad it was not because of anything medical. Yes they really do grow far too quickly. Love the deer and the background.

  7. It's so good to see you back again, Donna. I can imagine how frustrating it was without having a place to craft but getting to live with all new things will be worth it. I love this card ! You did an incredible job on that background paper and the image is just so sweet.

  11. Love that background! Beautiful design and color. The deer is a great image too! I know he love this. Had to laugh at your comment - they do grow up fast and it is hard to believe sometimes. I look in the mirror and I am shocked to see the old me instead of the 29 me that is inside! LOL. Hugz

  14. Hi Donna! So glad to hear your house is back together again! We're looking at the same thing in about a year or so - fun and not fun at the same time! Love all the cards you've been making (did a bit of stalking!). I especially am taking note of the alcohol ink background on this card - I definitely need to give that technique a try. Have a great week and happy crafting!
