A Valentine's Elephant

Happy Friday everyone.  I managed to get a little bit of craft time in between shoveling off the little back deck this morning.  The snow is so very heavy we have to keep doing it when it is only about 2 inches deep.  Hubby even had trouble with the tractor/snowblower because of the weight of the snow.  Anyway my grand daughter loves elephants and I remembered this darling image from Deedee Anderson so I printed it off and went from there.
This is a total non-traditional Valentine's Day card, but I'm hoping my grand daughter will like it.  I used Deedee's pre-colored image and she had a yellow bow around the elephant's trunk so I added a little yellow gem on the bow and added a few more gems to match.  I just sponged yellow around the die and also ran a black pen around the edge.  I matted it onto a grey oval.  The paper was in my stash and the die cut sentiment is by Provo Craft.  I'm pretty sure this will probably be the only yellow and grey Valentine's card you will see this year.  Well wishing you a very nice weekend and thank you for stopping by.

  2. It's adorable! I'm finding that I'm doing lots of Ellys this year for Valentine (for some reason! Cute stamps I guess!) I missed this one at DeeDee's and what a cute card it made with the way you've used it. Your Granddtr will adore it. Good luck with the snow shoveling. Hope we don't get more. TFS & Have a good (non-snowy) wkend.

  4. Who says that Valentines have to be pink or red anyway! This is ADORABLE and just perfect to tell someone you love them. Cute card for Valentine's or any other time. Love the little elephant and the way he's framed out.

  5. I'm a big fan of non-traditional colors for holiday cards, so I think this card is as cute as can be! I love the fun elephant image with that cute bow on his trunk, and the sentiment looks great with those big fonts! Be careful with that heavy snow - it will wear you out in no time when it's heavy! Our big storm a couple weeks ago was light snow, which was a good thing for all of us. We dodged this storm, but I hear Tuesday we're in for yet another ;) Stay warm!
