Masculine Birthday

Hi All, We have a couple of guys in our family with birthdays this month so I got myself back into the craft room to make them cards.  Here is one of them.

I used an old SU! stamp and some paper from my stash.  I pierced one corner and above and below the sentiment which as you can see I did in gold.  It did show up better in person than in this photo.   I wish I done it in white, but it is what it is for now.  I added a few gold stickers and used a SU border punch along the bottom and I was done.  The funny story about this card was that we were talking about deer and the birthday boy just said "I see a lot of deer around here but I've never seen a buck".  Then he opened this card and said "Hey There's my buck".  We all just got a little laugh out of that one.  Wishing you all a great day and thanks for popping in for a short visit.  I haven't been around too much lately.  I've been intensely working outside so that starting this week I can just relax outside and enjoy the yard and gardens.  I will get around to visiting on a more regular basis, I promise.

  8. Hi Donna. Love the paper piercing on this card and the cute story that goes with the card. Looking forward to seeing some garden pictures of all you hard work outside. Have a great day!

  9. The gold sentiment works well with the more somber colors of the card I think...whereas white might have been too harsh. The photo never shows up things as nicely as IRL does (at least MY photos anyway). I love the sepia tones of the buck, and it looks very masculine with the brown & blue. I like the punched border too. Just the perfect trim, without looking frilly. Enjoyed hearing the backstory. TFS & thanks for your visit. Big hugs.
