Yellow Birthday

Well it is very hot today so I decided to stay inside and play in my craft room a bit.  I have a couple of birthdays comping up in August so here is one of the cards I made today.
As usual my photography could use some help but here is the card.  I used two of SU!'s sets.  The flower from Lotus Blossom and the sentiment from Well Scripted.  The paper was in my stash as was the ribbon.  Kind of simple but I think and hope the recipient will like it.  Wishing you all a great evening and if you are in a "hot" zone please stay cool and be careful.  We may be in for some thunderstorms tomorrow evening and with this heat they may be duzzies.  Thanks for taking a peak into my little corner of the world.  Right now I'm having trouble getting full use of Blogger so as soon as I get it I'll be around to see everyone.

I'm somewhat back I guess. Trying to learn how to use this new computer and can't say it's fun.
Hot here too - in fact, way toooo hot. Stay cool and enjoy the rain when it comes.

  13. I do not think I have any grass that is not brown and crunchy, Donna. I do love this happy burst of yellow and I hope you cool soon, also. P.S. using the older sets is the best!

  14. Such an elegant birthday card, Donna! I'm sure that the recipient will love and appreciate it very much! Our hot weather finally broke last night when the fog rolled in. I hope that it is a bit cooler where you are now, too. I have been absent from Blogland for many months, but am finally back to crafting and visiting, so I look forward to seeing much more of your beautiful work. I hope all is well with you and yours! Hugs!

  18. Love the way you've used this pretty image, and it's so elegant. The soft stripe dp is a perfect showcase for this lovely flower. Glad you know about the FDR orange rose. Wish I'd gotten the name of it when we saw it, as I've never seen another quite that color. Wasn't that a lovely flower garden? The house- while interesting - was not as impressive as we expected. Bet it worked great for all their kiddies, but we felt it was 'too dark' - although I know that was the style back in those days. We also went down the road a bit to the Vanderbilt summer cottage. Now THAT was more like the 'other half' lives! TFS & Hugs. Stay cool.
