It's All About The Paper

Hello Everyone.  I am among the living once again.  I apologize if I have not visited your blogs as often as I should have.  I took quite a long break from card making and blogging to make a lot of scarves and hats to donate.  So now I hope to turn my attention back to card making again for a while. I have finished up a few in this past week so I thought I'd share a couple with you.  This card is for a very special couple that do a lot of travel both near and far. Their next few trips will be to  Cape Cod, Massachusetts and Maine where there are several fantastic lighthouses so I remembered this beautiful paper, dug it out and got to work.
I have to be honest I don't even know who this paper is by but I loved it the minute I saw it and have been hoarding it for years.  I wanted the paper to be center stage so I just cut it with my curly cutter and added a Hero Arts sentiment, a couple of punched hearts, the little gem stones and I was done.
I do hope to get better about blogging and visiting so please bear with me for a while.  Wishing you all a terrific day and week ahead.

  2. Welcome back to the world of blogging - it's great to see you making cards again :) If I had this dsp, I'd be hoarding it too, but you chose the perfect image to showcase the dsp by placing it on the edge. Those tiny heart accents are adorable and make for a perfect traveling couple's anniversary :) NJ!

  3. Hi Donna! Great to see your post; that is a beautiful lighthouse image! Did you read "The Light Between Oceans"? Great book! Thanks for visiting my blog yesterday; I've been remiss as usual visiting around, too. I'm doing OK; my grandson (and his dad, my son, on the same day) had his 2nd birthday recently; that was fun! (My son turned 32.) They are the light of my life! Great to hear from you as always.

A fabulous card, such a beautiful lighthouse - you were so right to make it centre stage.

  6. It;s so great to see a post from you again,Donna, and I love that card! I understand why you hoarded the paper and why you wanted it to be the central focus when finally you did use it.
