A non-card maker asked me if you could really make a good card with no layers on it so I set out to make a card to show her. I wanted to make a CAS but sweet card so I went to my file with Deedee Anderson's images in it. Here is what I ended up with.

Warm Winter Wishes
Hello All, I made this card last week just before we got our little snow storm but forgot to post it.
A non-card maker asked me if you could really make a good card with no layers on it so I set out to make a card to show her. I wanted to make a CAS but sweet card so I went to my file with Deedee Anderson's images in it. Here is what I ended up with.
I know it is very simple looking but I did want to do a card with no paper on it at all. This is the second one I've done in a couple of weeks now and I'm getting to like them. I printed both the image and sentiment by Deedee on Gina K Designs 120# paper so my Ccopics would not show through to the other side. Then I embossing a portion of the card with a snowflake folder by Darice, chomped one top corner and I was done. It is certainly not the most exciting card, but I'm happy with it. Glad to have you visit. Enjoy the upcoming week.

I wish I could focus on making CAS cards like this, but I always seem to feel the need to add layers and embellishments. This card clearly shows they're not needed! This turned out really cute!!
ReplyDeletePrecious! No layers or paper needed for this little cutie. Love the embossing on the side and of course the cute image too.

This is a perfect CAS card Donna. The image is so sweet and the embossing and chopped corner finishes it off so well xx
ReplyDeleteIt's a very nice card! And that is good to know about Gina K papers that won't bleed through. I will have to remember that! Such a cute, sweet image!

This is just fabulous, what a great CAS style.
ReplyDeleteIt definitely can be done, Donna, and you've just proven it! Marvelous design and great embossing. Makes me want to play with something CAS myself. :-D
ReplyDeleteA super card Donna, such a cute snowman and fabulous CAS design

Super cute card - love the image and your rounded corners. I love CAS now too - after years of hating it! Hugz
ReplyDeleteI do so poorly at creating CAS. You my dear, really have a gift. Isn't it nice to know that there is one card stock you can count on to not bleed through? Great job, Donna!
ReplyDeleteThis CAS card is wonderful, Donna! Love your adorable snowman image and the embossing on the side. To me, it's very striking with the embossing! Great job and I hope your non card friend loved it! TFS and have a great day! :)
ReplyDeleteI love snowmen and this simple design is wonderful! I love that you didn't use any other papers! Neat idea, and good to know about the Gina K paper!
ReplyDeleteWe hardly have enough snow to make a snowman around here! We keep getting rain, and it's 40 degrees today! I'm not complaining! Have a good day, Donna!
I think this is a fabulous one layer CAS card Donna! I love that cute snowman and the way you have colored him. The embossing adds interest without adding more paper, love it! Be careful with heavy snow shoveling Donna, do it a little at a time. Hugs, Brenda
ReplyDeleteHe is so sweet! Love the CAS style you chose.
