CAS Card
I'm back again. I wanted to post a CAS card on the Operation Write Home blog to go along with the CAS Blog Skip. Jennifer McQuire has is so graciously offered several FREE on line CAS classes for those of us who enter a card in here or on OWH's Facebook page. Unfortunely I was not able to take her on-line class so I am really hoping my name gets picked. My fingers are crossed. I tend to make a lot of CAS type cards, but there is SO MUCH more I need to learn yet. For my card here I just used some retired SU pink paper and stamped my Inkadinkado sentiment right on to the designer paper. I added three Prima flowers and the leaves were punched from a MS punch. For some odd reason I went with just one Corner punch. It just looked better to me than using two of them. Well I'm back to the drawing table, as it were. I am trying very hard to finish up my next OWH box this weekend. Enjoy the rest of your weekend.

Donna, CAS cards are the best! Yours is lovely, and I really like that one corner punch. It makes a nice contrast to the pink paper and flowers. Thanks for sharing!
ReplyDeleteThat's a terrific card! I needed to see that spring card on this dreary day here in NC. It made my eyes happy! I hope you win the CAS class. It was so much fun!
ReplyDeleteI love the leaves and fresh colors!
ReplyDeleteLove it! Like how you stamped the sentiment on the patterned paper and those flowers are beauties! So pretty!

Donna....very pretty! I like that you only used one corner punch and Prima flowers on the other corner really make it pop!
ReplyDeleteSuch a pretty card and perfect not only for Mother's Day for also for SPRING!
ReplyDeleteI'm dying for Spring...for the flowers and the trees to be back in bloom. But, I'm not complaining much about our winter this year. It's been a good one for me and I hope we do break the record for one of the lowest snowfall seasons! :)
Thanks for playing and skipping too! It was FUN!

I'm a huge fan of using just one photo corner on a card. I don't know why either, but I think it has to do with the fact it seems to make a bigger impact because it's unlike the other corners. Good luck in the contest to win the class. I've got my fingers crossed, too! :)
ReplyDeleteDonna, beautiful card, those flowers and really like the cutout corner that you did.

I really like how you used the two opposite corners in this design Donna. The little photo corner and the black brad centers on the flowers add the perfect element of balance. Very pretty card!
ReplyDeleteI hope you get to take this class Donna - I did and it was awesome!! Crossing my fingers for you too!
ReplyDeleteDonna,
ReplyDeleteLove your card -- and so will the mom who receives it from her son or daughter. :)
