S & S Challenge #245

Here I am with my last card of this year.  I'm looking forward to 2015 and, hopefully, spending more time in my craft room.  Here is my card for the OWH's Stars & Stamps Challenge #245

I started out with a sheet of paper that was part of a bundle of papers that I received as a gift.  That is the paper on the tag and the horizontal piece of paper is the reverse side of that designer paper. The background paper was another sheet in that bundle.  The circle was made by stamping a background stamp from SU and then stamping the sentiment on top.I then sponged Crumb Cake ink to age it a bit.    This idea was cased from my dear friend Carol  http://ourlittleinspirations.blogspot.com/2014/12/one-for-mom.html.  One can always learn something interesting from Carol.  The ribbon is Very Vanilla from SU! and I added a silver dot which at first I thought was a little big, but it started to grow on me, so it is staying.  I feel I could use as an Any Hero card or one for a Hero to send home.  I'll decide that after.  I wish each and every one of you a very Happy New Year.  I know it is a busy time and I thank you so much for taking the time to pop in for a visit.   See you soon (next year).

Baseball Anyone?

I found some time to play in my craft room this afternoon and this is what I came up with.  This is a Sherri Baldy image that I colored with my Copics.

As you  can see I made a dotted background and added some banners and a sentiment from Gina K's Vertical Greetings set.  I stamped it with Versa Mark and embossed it in Detail White. The background paper was in my stash and the even though it looks black the card stock is Basic Grey from SU!  A added a few stickers and that was about it for this one.  This is another one for my next  CFHK box. Wishing you all a great evening and a Happy New Year if I don't get back here again before then.  I'm going to try, but somehow things don't usually end up the way I plan.  Maybe that should be a New Year's resolution - plan better.

Deedee's Closing Party

Hope your holidays were enjoyable. Unfortunately during the holiday season Deedee Anderson received news about the new (yucky) European Tax Laws which are forcing her, and some other  companies, to have to close their digi stores.  She is hosting her last challenge starting today and what a fun challenge it will be.  You WILL want to participate because Deedee is generously offering a $10.00 coupon to her store for everyone who enters plus you will be entered into a random drawing for a $50.00 coupon to her store.  Can you imagine, you will have tons of Deedee's digis to play with and use for a long, long time.   "A Going Out Of Business Party" of sorts.  I, for one, will be very sorry to see Deedee's store close but it does not mean I have to stop using her images.  I will continue to use her darling images forever. If you play along with us you will have enough images to do the same.    So please hop on over to Deedee's Page and have some fun with benefits.  Let's support Deedee and show her just how much we all care.

Here is a card I made with this precious set titled "Ice Fishing".  There are tons of ways to go with this set, here is the way I went.

I used one of the pre-colored images as well as one of the sentiments from this newest set.  It's a pretty simple card, but one I hope will put a smile on a hospitalized child's face.  I just added some drawn lines in both black and white, some hearts and a double colored border with a SU! punch. The paper is from a DCWV winter pack and the card stock is SU! Pacific Point Blue.   That's about it from me today.  Thanks so much for your visit and please show Deedee some love by also visiting her and playing along with this last challenge of hers.  I'd love to see a remarkable turn out for this challenge and put a smile on Deedee's face also.  Have a wonderful day.  Happy New Year!

Just Because

Happy Saturday Afternoon.  I hope you all had wonderful holidays and are ready for another year.  I hope this one doesn't fly by as fast as the last one.  I found that I had a few minutes to spare this afternoon so I went ahead and made a card.     The other day my dear friend, Carol, mentioned that some times we don't know what to do with designer paper that has a picture on it.  Well she came up with a beautiful card using the picture on her paper. You can see it here.   I vowed to do the same thing and I had some lovely papers that I believe I got a while ago from Carol so I went ahead and got to work.

The striped paper is the back side of the focal paper.  I used Bravo Burgandy card stock which is retired from SU!, but I did hoard a few pieces of it. The sentiment is also retired from SU!.   I was going to add some gems but then I decided this could make a good masculine card, so the gem gems went right back to their resting place for today.  I'm kind of happy with how this one turned out.
I would like to thank you for stopping in and wish you all a great, restful weekend.  See you soon.

Merry Christmas Daddy

Happy Sunday Afternoon, I just thought I'd pop in to share a card I made for my Hubby.  This card is from his little girls (my Blog Babies).  I wasn't happy with the Copic combo I used to get the "gold" color on the sleigh but I think he'll overlook that.  It looks totally different in this photo.  In real life it does look more like gold, but still not to my liking.  Well everything can't come out the way we what it to or we'd never learn from repeat trying.

We had about 1/2 inch of snow last night and it looked so pretty this morning.  I wish we could have that Wednesday night also, but it looks like we are in for a lot of rain instead of the white stuff.  Well I'll enjoy it while it is here.  I can enjoy it because the roads are nice and clear, just the trees and lawns are covered.  Wishing you all a great Sunday afternoon and evening.  Thanks a bunch for taking the time to stop by for a visit.  See you all soon.

Happy Owl-idays

Good Thursday morning to all of you.  Hope you are all doing good this week before Christmas.  I'm trying to get my last few cards done for our grand children.  This one is for my DGD.

I used Deedee Anderson's Happy Owl-idays which I think is just as sweet as can be.  I went with non-traditional colors on this one just to be different. This is the pre-colored version, but it also comes in a line drawing so you can color it yourself, as most all of Deedee's sets come.  I truly appreciate the pre-colored version this time of year and I just adored the colors on this one.   The background paper and the sentiment are both retired SU! products. I embossed the sentiment with Detail White embossing powder then added a few pink sequins which put the final feminine touch to it.

I wish you all a terrific, hopefully, crafty day.  See you soon and thanks a bunch for stopping by.

A Girly Hello

Hi  -  I'm here with a card I made for Cards For Hospitalized Kids.  I usually color this image in boys colors but this week I decided to color one up for a girl.  I really love this image and it is a fun one to color up.
I added a couple of banners and some brads and was done.  I take a "Backgrounds Class" with Marie Gamber over at  My Creative Classroom and this was one of the challenges Marie gave us this week: Use different size dots.  So this was my entry for this challenge.  I'm kind of happy with the way it turned out.    Thanks for visiting - see you again soon.

Deedee's December DOM

Good Monday Afternoon.  I completely enjoyed my weekend and I'm hoping all of you did also.
Happy - Brr Day is the title of Deedee's newest Digi set and today starts the new  DOM challenge.  This digi is offered at a reduced price for the month of December and if you purchase it this month and play along with us you will received next month's digi completely free.  Click above and head on over to Deedee's to see all of the details.    This is a darling set and I found I could do a lot of different things with it other than a birthday card.  Here are the cards I made for it.

With this first card I reduced the images and placed them close enough so that it appears that they are holding hands while skating. I thought this might make a good anniversary card.

For my second card I gave our lady skater a polka dotted sweater and used one of the sentiments included with the set.

On my third card I gave our boy skater a striped shirt and again, used the same sentiment from this set.

This is a very versatile set that you can have a lot of fun with.  Don't miss out on the reduced price of this set and maybe spend some time checking out the store to see all of the other sets Deedee's store has to offer.  Thanks for stopping by today, I appreciate the visit.
