HM&FMC #160 Mid Way - Gold or Silver

Well here we are just about to start a whole new year.  Boy are they flying by.  We have a one month long challenge over at House Mouse & Friends to use gold or silver and we are at our half way point so I'm here with a card using both gold and silver.  As you can see my gold is in the candle holder and outlining the die piece.  The circular mat and back panel are both SU! Silver card stock.

I colored my image with Copics, cut it out and matted it with SB dies.  I used the SU! Square Lattice embossing folder as well as the  Cuttlebug Swiss Dot folder.  The sentiment was stamped and cut out with a SU! jewelry tag. I ran some gold cord though the tag and around the corner.   The flower is a punch I've had for eons and it does not have a name on it.  I added a blue gem to it and I was done.  It is always nice to be able to put together a simple quick card during this time of year.    Please stop by House Mouse & Friends and see all the great inspiration the Design Team has put together for you.

S & S Sketch Challenge #205

I'm back with my card for the OWH's Sketch Challenge #205 found here.   This was an easy, fun sketch to work with.  As you can see I flipped it for my card.

I started with my little strip of paper and then went from there. My card stock colors are a bit brighter than the colors in the paper but it was the closest I had on hand. I embossed the purple panel using an M-Bossabilities folder and the green is done with a Darcy folder.    The sentiment is by Stampendous and I just colored in the hearts and cut it out with SB dies.   I found some red stickers that matched the red hearts so I added a few of them here and there.     I think that will do it for me tonight.  Thanks a bunch for stopping by.  See you again soon.

More Valentines

Hi all, Hope you all have enjoyed your weekend.  Ours was very nice.  Trying to build up my supply of Valentine's cards.  Here is one I made today.
I started this one with some of this cool background paper by Carta Bella that I received as a gift from a dear friend.  The I cut out my hearts with a Sizzix die and embossed them with three different folders.  The sentiment heart is punched from my Creative Memories punch and the sentiment is by SNSS.  The grey is Basic Grey by SU! but it appears darker in this photo.  My last step was to round off one corner and I was done.  I'll try to hit the crafting table again for a little while tonight.  Thanks so much for taking a peek into my little corner of the world.  See you again soon.

It's A Deedee Anderson Kind Of Day

I have been using Deedee Anderson's images all morning for my cards and as promised here I am with some more Valentine's Cards for the Kids.
I went with another of DeeDee Anderson's darling pre-colored images titled "Valentine Tweet" found here .  I moved away from traditional colors for this one as I had in my mind that I wanted to do a card for a young boy and thought these colors fit the bill.  Not that red doesn't, but I worked off of the colors of this cute little bird.

On the next two cards I again used also pre-colored images from Deedee titled "From The Heart"found here.    I did boy and girl versions using the same image but different die pieces and sentiments.   As you can see the boy mouse is holding a plain heart. with the sentiment on the bottom of the card   - - -
In the girl's version I cut out another heart from the set and placed it inside the larger heart and that became my sentiment.
For a little added touch on her version I outlined the image with a BG10 Copic Marker and then punched out some hearts from a MS punch and added them into the centers of the hearts in the background paper.  The background papers also come with this set.  Both of these last two cards look brighter in real person, but I'm having one of those bad photo days.  Well I'm back to the drawing board for a while.  Thanks for the visit.  I always appreciate your company and comments.  See you soon.   It's dreary here and they are calling for rain later on today but I hope you are enjoying some sun shine where you are.

Happy Valentine's Day

I'm sorry I've been MIA for a while now.  You know all those things that go along with the holidays just kept me from making any cards.  Hopefully I'm back in the groove.  Here is my card for this morning.
I used this darling image from DeeDee Digi's  titled Up & Away.  This is a darling set and worth taking a look at.  I found this tan checkered paper in my stash and thought it would go well with this little guy's basket. The sentiment is by SU!.    I added some hearts and silver candy dots and I was done.  This one will be going to Cards For Hospitalized Kids.    My goal this week is to make a lot of Valentine's cards for kids.  I hope I can meet my goal.  Wish me luck.  Thanks so much for stopping by today.  Hope to be back again this afternoon.  ( Got to play catch up) Enjoy your Saturday.

House Mouse & Friends #160 -Gold or Silver

Happy Monday Morning to all of you - Today I am here with my card for our Challenge over at House Mouse & Friends found here.  This week we'd like to see silver or gold on your House Mouse creations.   I do know how busy it is this time of year, but we would love to have you join in on the fun.
Here is my card for this week.
I colored up this precious image titled Kitty Snuggle with Copic Markers.  As you can see I went with green and purples along with my gold to finish up this card.  The background paper is by SU! (retired).  The poinsettia is make up with SB dies and some fronds made with a MS punch.    I used a Word Window Punch (cut off one end) from SU! in the upper right hand corner.  The  sentiment was made with a retired SU! punch and a circle punch.  The sentiment itself is by CC Rubber Stamp Company.  Ribbon is from a roll I picked up at Michaels.  All the gems are from Pizzazz Aplenty. That's it about my card, can't wait to see what you come up with.      We have some great gifts from our two very generous sponsors listed below.  Thanks for taking a peek at my card.  See you soon.

OWH Mid Week Throw Down

I'm here with a quick post for the MTW over at OWH.  We were asked to submit "general love cards"
Here is my entry.
The color is a little off here because the paper is actually more of a purple than the grey that it appears to be.  Weird, I know purple and red, but for some reason the sentiment sticker was sitting near the paper and it looked pretty good to me so I went with it.  That sticker, by the way, is from a sheet of stickers that was bought maybe 20 - 25 years ago for some little Valentine project.  If I remember correctly I stuck them all over the table cloth for our Valentine's dinner.    I really do have to start using up my "stuff" in a more timely fashion.  LOL   The double hearts are by Inkadinkado and I embossed them with black embossing powder.  Then I just dashed around everything and it was ready to go into the next box for OWH.  Hope you are all having a lovely day.  It's quite cold here in southeastern Mass, but it is normal for this time of year.  Maybe getting 6" of snow on Sunday.  Hubby will be very happy.  LOL  Thanks for taking the time to  visit.  I always love the company.  See ya again soon.

HM&FMC Mid Week - Anything Christmas

Here we are at the mid week point for our "Anything Christmas" Challenge over at House Mouse & Friends Monday Challenge found here.  My other team mates have some great inspiration to share with you. Please be sure to take a peek.   This week I went with this darling image titled  "Paws To Warm".
I had a ball coloring this image with my Copics and then dotted all around the panel with my Multiliner.   It's hard to see but these little meeces are standing on glittered snow.  I wanted to keep it clean and simple so I just added the sentiment which is by  Stampabilities and used a retired SU! corner punch to give it the photo corner look.    The snowflakes are made with a MS punch and I added some green gems to the centers.   The background paper is from my stash and I'm sorry but I don't know who it is by.   We do hope you join in on the fun for this challenge. You have until December 15th to enter your creations.   Looking forward to seeing them.

Stars & Stamps Sketch Challenge #202

Well Sunday means another Sketch Challenge over at OWH.  We have a beautiful sample which I started to follow but went off course somewhere and forgot to round one corner.  I'm still OK with the finished product though.  Let's hope a hero will be also.

I think it would make a good masculine card as there is no bling on here at all. The blue and vanilla card stocks are both  by SU!  The embossing folders I used were Square Lattice by SU! and a Cuttlebug Heart folder.  The XOXO were made with a Provo Craft Die and the hearts are Creative Memories punches.  I popped up both the square and the heart with SU! dimensionals.   That's about all there is to say about this one.  I do hope you are all having a great day where ever you are.  It is very raw and cold today and we are suppose to get snow and ice starting at midnight tonight.  I hope that translates to a lot of crafting time for me tomorrow.  I truly appreciate you stopping by.  Company is always nice.

MWT - Valentine Card

This week our Mid Week Throw Down challenge is to make a Valentine's Card. I went with a "love" card in the event my card doesn't reach OWH on time.  This way it can be used all year long.
I had a terrible time photographing this card. Of course we all know that I'm not too good in the picture taking category anyway but this one seemed exceptionally hard.  The paper is from Christmas Tree Shop and it is ALMOST these colors (this being my big photo problem) The green hearts are actually Old Olive Green from SU! which is much lighter than photographed.  I added little pearls from JoAnn's to the hearts after I embossed them with a Fancy Fan Embossing Folder by SU!.  The sentiment is cut out with a Provo Craft die.  Hopefully the recipient won't care what the colors are supposed to be, because the important thing is that they know they are loved.  Thanks so much for stopping by my little corner of the world.  See you soon.

Another Deedee's Digi of the Month

All of our children have a gift that they love to receive at Christmas.  We call it a "Ditty Box".  It's a tote that we fill with things that they need but hate to spend the money on like paper towels, cleaning supplies, toothpaste, etc.  Well this year one of our daughters, Alli,  will not be making it home for Christmas so I made her a very small ditty box, just a few small items like lip balm, cough drops, etc. and a check to buy what she needs at home.  This way she still gets her ditty box without us spending a mint on shipping a big tote.   Yesterday I played along in  Deedee's December Digi Challenge  I used her free image titled Gingerbread Train.  While I was making my card, I kept thinking that I could use these digi images for my Ditty Box.  So today I made up Alli's Ditty Box - what do you think?

I enlarged and printed out the pre-colored image of the train and the conductor and then I cut the conductors's head off and pieced it into the train window.  I colored the ground with Copics and used some Tumbled Glass Distress Ink for the sky.  The sentiment comes along with the Gingerbread Train set.  After printing it out and matting it I added a little red brad to match the door knob on the train.   It's very hard to see in this picture but I added Dazzling Diamonds to the MS snowflakes and the top of the train. I think you might be able to see it better if you click on the image to enlarge it.  I am happy with the way it came out and I'm pretty sure Alli will get a kick out of it as well as being happy that she still gets here Ditty Box.      That's it for me for tonight.  I'll see you again soon and as always I appreciate your visit and comments.

Deedee's December Digi of the Month

Two posts in one day.   I'm kind of proud of myself.
Here we are in the month of December already.  Where did the year go?  I like the beginning of the month though because it means a new challenge for Deedee's Digi of the Month.  This month Deedee has a new set of images titled Gingerbread Trains for you to have fun with.  If you played last month you got a freebee of this set this month, but if not you can always purchase it very reasonably on her site.  The set contains two images and three sentiments.  I love this set for children.  It will really bring smiles to little one's faces.  Here is what I came up with for this challenge.
I went with the pre-colored image in this set. I love having the option to color myself or use the pre-colored version and cut it out with SB dies.   I added a small piece of SU! ribbon and a candy cane brad.  I went with a sentiment that I already had and embossed it in black powder.  The little flowers are made with a MS Hydrangea punch and small pearls from Pizzazz Aplenty.

Here is the complete set - Isn't it darling?

Well that will do it for me today.  But I'm hoping to be back tomorrow with another card from this set.  Wishing you all a great Monday.  Thanks for popping in for a visit.

House Mouse & Friends Monday Challenge #159

Good Monday morning.  Hope you all had a great weekend.  Our talented teammate, Tracy, has picked our theme for this week.   She has chosen  Anything Christmas.  I figured this little mousy Santa delivering some sweet candy canes would qualify.  Hope you agree.
I'm not even a fan of candy canes, but I may have to learn to like them if they are going to be delivered by this guy.  This image is titled "Candy Claus" and I colored him with Copics. Designer paper is from a retired SU! 6 x 6 pad.    The sentiment is by Craftsmart and the glittered snow was made with SU! Dazzling Diamonds.  The candy canes and poinsettia were all in my stash. For a final touch I add some rhinestones, also from my stash, and I pierced the right hand corner of my focal piece.  Please stop by the House Mouse & Friends blog to see all the fabulous creations by our talented members of the Design Team.  I realize it is a busy time of year but I'm hoping we've served up enough inspiration for you to take a few minutes and join us for our challenge.   We'd love to see your cards and we've got some great sponsors just waiting to hand out some very generous prizes.  Thanks for stopping by to take a peek.  I'll see you again soon.

S & S Challenge #201

Good Sunday morning to you all.  Hope your weekend is going well so far.  I woke up to find that over at the  Stars & Stamps blog they were showcasing one of my past cards as a sample for this week's challenge.  I am very honored - thank you Marlene.  So here is a new card I made using this sketch.

I went back a ways in my stamps and pulled out a couple of  retired stamps from SU!.  I colored the flower with Copics and embossed the sentiment with Detail Silver embossing powder.  The border punch is from SU! as are the papers.  That will do it for me today.  Thank you so much for stopping by.  Wishing you all a fun day.

MWT-Color Challenge

White on White is our color challenge over at Stars & Stamps this week. I made up this card to meet the challenge.
The card stock, ribbon, and sentiment are all by SU!.  I bought the gems at my LSS and the embossing folder is by Darcy.  Pretty Simple today.  Off to start some making and baking.  Oh Fun .  I love cooking a Thanksgiving Dinner.  I would like to wish all of you who celebrate the Happiest, Healthiest Thanksgiving.  I am very thankful for a lot of things, the friends I've made here in Blogland are among my many blessings.  So thank you to all of you who take a peek or leave a comment.  I appreciate all of you.  See you soon.

HM&FMC #158 Mid Week

I'm here today with another card for our "My Favorite Things challenge over at House Mouse & Friends Monday Challenge. The words to the song, My Favorite Things, are displayed on our site found here.   This week I used the line "Brown Paper Packages Tied Up With String".  This little mouse is really using some nice ribbon but we'll pretend it is colored string.
This image is titled Gifts To Tie.  After coloring the image I sponged around the image and also ran my Uniball gold pen around the inside of the die before I removed the image from it.  I got a little carried away with my gold pen as you can see I ran it around the edges of all my panels.  Sentiment is by SU and cut out with punches and SB dies.  A few pearls added here and there and I called this one complete.  There are so many wonderful "things"  in the song you could incorporate into you House Mouse card so why don't you head on over there and join in on the fun.  Thanks a bunch for stopping by for a peek.
See you again soon.

S & S Sketch #200

Well it's the 200th Sketch over OWH's Stars and Stamps Blog found here. That's a lot of challenges. Here is my entry for this week.

Here is the sketch for this week.
This is a Penny Black image colored with Copic Markers.  The Sentiment is by A Muse. Card stock and butterfly by SU!.  I used the Swiss Dot and the Square Lattice embossing folders and a Multi-liner pen to dot around the sentiment.  The patterned paper is from Christmas Tree Shop.  Gotta run, lots planned for this very cold, windy day.  Today is a "stay in your pj's day", but it did not work out for me that way.  boohoo.  Thanks for stopping by and I wish you all a great day (warmer than mine).  See you soon.

Outlawz Friday Challenge

I am here today to post a card I made for The Outlawz Friday Alcohol Markers Challenge.  The title of this challenge is Universal Children's Day which means they would like us to make a child's card - any occasion.  I picked this darling image from Stamp Fairy Digi Stamps and colored it with Copics.
I am working way ahead of schedule for OWH's spring time cards.  I didn't necessarily want to use an Easter sentiment so I thought this one was cute.  The sentiment is by Art Impressions and given to me by a friend just this week.  I've cut out and matted the image with SB dies.  I had a sheet of shinny stickers so I added them to the focal image.  I just added the Gable Green vertical stripe and mounted it all on some paper from the Christmas Tree Shop.  The card base and scalloped die and SU's Elegant Eggplant.  I think I will make another one of these and send it in to Cards For Hospitalized Kids.
I wish you all a great night and a fun filled upcoming weekend.

HMFMC #158 My Favorite Things

Good Monday Morning to all my blogger friends out there. I have an announcement I'd like to share with you today.  This is my first Monday as a member of the design team for
This is such a honor for me to be on a design team working with such a nice group of people as well as working with stamps/images that I dearly love.  This week our theme was picked by our Teamie, Sue Kment.

This challenge is inspired by the song My Favorite Things!

You can read the lyrics below and use them for your inspiration
*****

Raindrops on roses and whiskers on kittens
Bright copper kettles and warm woolen mittens
Brown paper packages tied up with strings
These are a few of my favorite things

Cream colored ponies and crisp apple streudels
Doorbells and sleigh bells and schnitzel with noodles
Wild geese that fly with the moon on their wings
These are a few of my favorite things

Girls in white dresses with blue satin sashes
Snowflakes that stay on my nose and eyelashes
Silver white winters that melt into springs
These are a few of my favorite things

When the dog bites
When the bee stings
When I'm feeling sad
I simply remember my favorite things
And then I don't feel so bad
*****
Wow you have a great array of things to base your cards on this week. Our fabulous sponsors this week are:

Here is my card for today.

I went with the song line Raindrop on Roses hoping that Poppies are close enough.
This image is titled Special Delivery by Stampabilities and I colored it with Copics.  I sponged some very light (maybe too light) blue along the top for my sky and added Liquid Pearls for the raindrops. The sentiment is also by Stampabilities.  The designer paper is retired SU! and flower was made up with  MB dies with a yellow brad.  My last step was to add some silver dimensional stickers by Jolee.  I had a so much fun making this card.

Please stop by House Mouse & Friends to see what all the design team members have to offer you in the way of inspiration.     Thanks for taking a peek here today and I wish you all a fabulous Monday.

Outlawz Friday Challenge

Hi Blogger Friends, This card I am sharing with you tonight was made for the Friday Alcohol Markers Challenge over at Outlawz  .  We were challenged to make a "Thanks or Thanksgiving" card.  Here is what I came up with.
The image is by Stitchy Bear and I colored it with Copics then cut it out with SB dies.   The background paper is a piece I had in my stash that I have been hoarding because of I love the bright vibrant colors in it.  But it is high time I let the rest of the world appreciate it also.  If I had had more of it I would have make a larger card just so you could see more of it. The brown checkered paper is by Gina K .  The sentiment is by SU! and it is cut out with SU's Word Window punch as well as their Modern Label punch.  I added some gems from JoAnns that I have also hoarded for years.  I wish you all a fabulous upcoming weekend.  Thanks so much for stopping by.

Midweek Throwdown - Dry Embossing

This week over at OWH the midweek throwdown is dry embossing. Here is my entry
This one went together rather quickly.  The grey strip of paper was sitting on my desk so I thought of doing a masculine card and went from there. The designer paper was in my stash.   I embossed the black panel with a chevron e/f and the grey panel with the Swiss Dot folder to play off the paper.  I just received the Memory Box "hello" die in yesterday so I thought I'd try that out right away.  I do love that die.  It cuts beautifully and I really like the font.  I chomped one top corner and added to two different sized silver dots and this one was done.  Thanks for visiting today.    See you tomorrow

SOS #127

Hello - This card is about as simple as you can get.   This is for the challenge over at Shopping Our  Stash  this week.  They would like us to use something already on our desk.  Here is what I did.

Yesterday I cleaned my desk and the only thing on left on it was this little heart I had made for another card a while ago and it just didn't look right to me so I took it off and it has been sitting on my desk ( well actually it was glued to my lamp so I hope that counts)  for about 10 days now so Thank You SOS for giving me a reason to use it.  I just partially embossed a piece of white card stock with a Swiss Dot embossing folder and then added a piece of ribbon that I had left over from some other Christmas card and added my heart sentiment, which was made from a 2 part Creative Memories punch and the sentiment is by SU!.  I think that punch was the very first one I ever purchased.  I've used it so much it's a wonder it still works and I have never even had to sharpen it.  Well that's my story of my very CAS card for today.  Thanks so much for taking a minute to pop in. Your company is always welcome.
See you again soon.

S & S Sketch Challenge #198

Here I am today with a quick post for OWH's Sketch Challenge #198 found here.  I deviated a bit from the sketch but then again I do that often.
I started by flipping the sketch and I did not stick to the original measurements either  (slap, slap).  The horizontal strip I have should have been vertical because of the flip but I just didn't like it that way, so I left it horizontal.  The sentiment is by Katie & Co. and everything else is by SU!.  The featured stamper on Friday was Donna S. and I CASED her technique of making dots with an eraser. Thank you Donna.  I used to do that years ago and then forgot all about it.  I'm glad I saw it again on Friday.  It is fun to do and I enjoyed it.  That will have to do it for me today.  Thanks for taking the time to take a peek.  See you all soon.

CASology #69 Brown

Over at CASology this week they are requesting cards with brown on them.  Here is my card.
My designer papers are both by Gina K Designs.  This pack is three years old I think but I keep hoarding it because I love it so much and I think every sheet in it is great for guys cards. I think it's time I let others enjoy these papers also.   This card will be going to Cards For Hospitalized Kids and I think it's ideal for a tween/teen boy.   Thanks a bunch for popping in today and I hope to see you again soon.

HMFMC #157 Anything but a card

I'm here today with my entry for this week's challenge over at HMFMC found here.  They are looking for Anything but a card.  I have decided to go with a little treat bag for the holiday.

I went with a stamp titled "Night Light"  I just love these two little meeces napping by candle light.
I colored the image with Copics and added a MS Snowflake border along the top that I glittered with SU! Dazzling Diamonds.   I make a few more snowflakes on the image with Liquid Pearls and the white embossed sentiment and snowflakes are both from SU!.  It's pretty CAS style bag, but it is perfect for the person I will be giving it to.   Thanks for stopping by and I wish you are all great night.

Deedee's Digi of the Month

Hi everyone,  I'm here tonight with a card for Deedee's Digi of the Month challenge found here.  Isn't this little Christmas Duck just adorable?  I think so.  When you play along with Deedee's challenge for one month you get the next month's digi free.  Can't beet that.  If you missed last months' challenge you can also buy this image in the store.  Well here is what I came up with for this month.
First off this it not a good picture, just know that it is more vibrant IRL.  The image, as stated is by Deedee Anderson and the sentiments are both from a Christmas set from SU!.  I found this paper in my stash and also this stocking brad.  The embossing folder is by Sizzix.  I had a lot of fun putting this card together and will be using this image a lot more this season.  I think you should run over to Deedee's site and join in on this fun challenge.  See you all soon and thanks for taking a peek

ODBD November Challenge

For November's challenge at Our Daily Bread Designs they would like to see "Love You" cards. Here is my card.
I started by stamping Broken China Distress Ink onto my clear block and then stamping that onto white card stock.  A SU image was then stamped in Versamark and black embossed.   The paper is from the Lost & Found collection of a My Minds Eye 6 x 6 pad.   Then I went to my Go TO "love" stamp which is retired from SU! My final touch was to punch out some hearts from the SU! Owl punch set in that same paper I stamped with the Broken China.  I covered them with Glossy Accents and put them in place.  I also made some candy dots with the same paper and was going to put three on the right hand side, but I deferred to Hubby and his choice was to leave it just as it was. Yes, I do ask for his opinion here and there and he is happy to offer it. (good or bad - but the bad is given in a very sweet way -  LOL)   Thanks for popping in today.  See you again soon.

S & S Sketch #197

Here is my entry for the OWH's Stars & Sketch Challenge this week.  I did deviate a bit from the sketch.  I only ended up with one mat on my focal image instead of two as in the sketch but I had my image already printed out and then my printer gave me a few problems so I went with what I had.

I used this darling pre-colored digital image and great sentiment by Deedee Digital Images found here. I am just in love with her images especially the ones I've been using for children.  I started with the image and then found some gray paper from The Winter Combo by DCWV.  I colored a piece of white card stock with a Copic marker trying to match the Cool Cat's collar and embossed it with a Cuttlebug  folder.  Instead of ribbon I used just a strip of black card stock to separate my two papers.
I just placed the sentiment on an angle so as to fit nicely on the card.  I was going to add a pink heart somewhere in the green section but a "Cool Cat" makes me think that this should be a boy's card and I didn't think most boys would like to see a pink heart on there.  What do you think - should I leave it alone or add a pink heart or maybe a white one?  I'm also working on a ODBD card and hopefully I'll get that posted later on today.  Thanks you for stopping by. Wishing you are great Sunday.  See you soon.

Outlawz Friday Alcohol Markers - Pumpkins

Today is Pumpkin Toss Day so over at The Outlawz Friday Alcohol Markers challenge  Carla has asked for a card with pumpkins.
I also heard a couple of weeks ago that there is really a blue gourd so I went with it.  The pumpkin is by Gina K Design's set titled Autumn Splender and I stamped it three times using a masking method. The blue pumpkin is popped up for some dimension.    The sentiment is by Ann-ticipations and I've had it about 5 years now and only used it a couple of time.  It seemed appropriate for the coloring.  I colored the edges of a piece of white card stock with a Copic to match the coloring of the orange pumpkins.  That will do it for me today.  It's rainy, raw and very windy here so I think we'll start a fire and play some cards this afternoon.  I do hope you are all having a better day weather wise than we are.  Have a wonderful day.  Thanks for taking a peek  here today.

MWT - Seeing Stars

Seeing Stars is the theme over at OWH's Mid Week Throw Down  this week.  I dug out my Hero Arts stamps and a few other items and went to work.  Here is what I ended up with.
The paper is by Create Paper and the red is  SU! Real Red.  I used a SB star die and a Sizzix heart die. The little heats in the center of the stars are the negative pieces from a MS border punch.  My final touch was to add star brads by Recollections to the center of the hearts. They are glittered but I did a sweater test and a finger test and nothing came off at all.  I popped up the hearts with SU! deminsionals.     That will do it for me for now.  Thanks a bunch for taking the time to stop by.  See you all soon.

SOS #125 Stitching

Over at Shopping Our Stash this week they requested that we have either faux or real stitching on our cards.  I went with faux because you would not want to see real stitching from me believe me. LOL  Here is what I came up with.
I have had this stamp (a round plastic stamp with a raised handle on it) forever.  I think I got it in a yard sale at one of our LSS.  I think it makes a great stamp for a boy.  I'm sure some girls would love it too, but my mind goes to boys for this one which is the reason I kept it kind of plain and simple.  Anyway I colored the stamp with markers before stamping it and then cut it out with SB dies.  The diamond shapes along the side are made from the SU! corner punch (smaller size). The designer paper is retired SU!   My stitching, as you can see, is on all the blue surfaces.  My final touch were the silver candy dots which, again, is the embellishment I tend to use when making guy cards because I think it is a nice embellishment without being too blingy if you know what I mean. This one will go off to Cards for Hospitalized Kids and I think I will make a few more like it in different colors.   Well I suppose I need to get to some housework before the whole day goes by.  Thanks for popping in.  Have a wonderful day.  See you soon.

Merry Monday #81

I should have been playing along with this challenge all year, but I guess it's never too late to start.  This week on Merry Monday Challenge they are looking for cards with Santa (The big Guy) on them.  Here is my entry.
I've had this beautiful Santa image for many years but last year I took it off it's wooden block and forgot to save the manufacturer's name, so I can't give you that info today, sorry.  I stamped it in Versamark and gold embossed it.  The background paper is from a 12 x 12 pack I had bought at JoAnn's several years ago and I guess I've lost the cover because I don't know who this is by either. Wow I should get better about these things.  Everything is matted in Real Red by SU! and the poinsettia was made by SB dies.  A JoAnn's gem added to the middle.  it is yellow but I could not seem to grab that color in my photo.   The sentiment is a retired SU! stamp.  I'm really glad I  found time to play along this week as this is a great challenge blog and helps a lot getting your holiday cards done.   Thanks for your visit here today.  Hopefully I will get to "play" some more today in my craft room and be back with another challenge card.  In the meanwhile I wish you all a great day.

OWH Sketch Challenge #196

Sunday = Sketch Challenge over at Stars & Stamps.  I decided to make the sentiment the major focal point for this one because I just love it.
Both the sentiment and the image are from SNSS.  I paper pieced (yay) the snowman's hat and cup to match the horizontal strip. Those of you who know me, know this is not one of my favorite things to do but I was determined to do it today.  I dashed around the two focal pieces with a gold uni-ball pen.  The designer paper is by DCWV winter pack from three years ago.  I matted the two focal pieces with Night Of Navy cs from SU! so I decided to run  the same color marker near the outside edges of the card to kind of bring things together.  All was good until I guess somehow I ended up with some marker on my hand.  You guessed it those two stamped hearts are there for a reason- - - to cover up a smudge of blue marker next to the snowman. Just the one looked funny to me so I went ahead and stamped another on the other image.    Well that's going to do it for me today.  Thanks so much for taking a peek at my card today.  See you again soon.  I wish you all a great evening.

Bugs & Kisses

Look at this precious little ladybug by DeeDee Anderson.  You can get it pre-colored or or ready to color yourself.  I went with the pre-colored image this time which really helped this card come together quickly.
I cut the image out with a SB die and matted it with black.  The sentiment, which is also from DeeDee, was punched out with SU! punches.  The Ric Rac punch was on my desk so I decided to add a couple of pieces to the card.  One corner Chomped and a few gems and I was done.
Easy Peasy!    This card will be heading out to Cards For Hospitalized Kids  this week.  We have got to put some yard things away today but I'm going to try to get it done fast because it is quite cold out there today and I'm in the mood to make cards so I'll be heading back inside fast.  I'm hoping to post again today, but if not, soon.  Thank you for visiting with me today.    It's always nice to see you.
