Autumn Splender

Happy Friday To All,

Today I decided to make a card using a couple of the stamps from Gina K Designs set titled Autumn Splender. This is a beautiful set containing many different stamps such as leaves, fruit, flowers, etc. The background paper was made with the Plaid Embossing Folder from Sizzix and then I rubbed different inks across the top of it. I was not super happy with the outcome as I like it better when you apply the ink directly onto the folder itself, but then again I have to remember that the card is not for me, so I hope the recipient will be happy with it. The leaves are from Prima and the bow is made with SU ribbon. My friend, Carol Longacre, showed us how to make this ribbon in one of her posts found here. I just love this look. I decided not to use a sentiment with this one. The card base is Chocolate Chip card stock from SU. Have a great Friday and a safe weekend. I'll be back tomorrow. Thanks for taking the time to stop by.

Crazy For Cocoa Challenge C4C8

Hi All,

Today's post is for the Crazy for Cocoa Challenge over at Sweet N Sassy Stamps. I needed an Any Hero card to go in my next box to Operation Write Home so I thought this little Patriotic Cocoa digital image was just ideal. I colored him with Copics and cut him out with the Star Nestabilities. Our challenge today was to use paper piercing on our card, so I pierced all the way around the star and also added some piercing between my brads. I ran the Kraft card base through the Big Shot using the Swiss Dot embossing folder. I added some red, white and blue ZigZag that I made with my new Zig Zag punch I received this week. I thought a simple "Thank You" was a great sentiment so I used the Stampin Up Fancy Flexable Phrases. That's it for me today, but I'll be back tomorrow with another posting. Have a great night.

S & S Mid Week Throwdown

Hi All,

For some unknown reason, I am just not into crafting today, but I made a stab at the Mid Week Throw Down over at OWH's Stars and Stampshttp://www.owhstarsandstamps.org/. Our challenge today was to make something "water" related. Since it has been so hot lately I thought I'd go with a "cool" theme for this challenge. I used a stamp from the Gina K Designs Red, Set, Snow set, which I think is just precious. I just gave a little color with my copics and cut it out with square and scallop square Nestabilities. The designer paper is from Stampin Up as is the brilliant blue card stock. The snowflake and heart brads were from my stash. Thanks for stopping by, I really appreciate it. I'll see you again tomorrow.

Keep You Chin Up

Good Tuesday Morning,
I wanted to make a card for someone that received some bad news yesterday. I immediately thought of this paper that is part of a 6 x 6 pack of Webster Pages Collection Triple Pack (Spring Market, Yacht Club & Country Estate). I just love that series of papers. I utilized a beautiful piece of their paper and all I did was stamp my sentiment and add a few flowers. Then I matted it on brown card stock and then on to the Very Vanilla card base. It didn't take me long to make this card, but there is a lot of love put into it and I am very happy with the outcome. Webster Pages helped to make my card pretty and I am hoping the recipient draws a calm, soothing, loving feeling from this card.

A Beautiful Birthday Card

Some things just have to be shared and this card is one of them. This is a beautiful card I received today from my friend, Carol Longacre. I so wish I was better at photography because I can't seem to get a shot good enough to do this fabulous card justice. I will tell you that there is a portion of each one of these flower petals that has been stamped separately, colored, cut out and popped up so there is wonderful dimension to this card. The bow with the little pearl, the background paper and ribbons, everything is just beautiful. This card put a big smile on my face today and I can't thank you enough for that. I am now having a great day and I wish the same for each and everyone of you.

See you all tomorrow.

S & S Sketch Challenge #79

Hello Everyone,

Sorry I've been MIA lately. Working, going out of town and two frozen shoulders have all kept me from my card making lately. Hopefully I'll get back on a schedule this week.
Today's post is for our weekly sketch challenge over at OWH's Stars and Stamps Blog . This image is a Birthday Freebee that I received from Korin over at Sweet N Sassy Stamps . You should head on over there to check out these adorable stamps and digi images. This image is titled Rhubarb's Candy Cane. I had a lot of fun coloring him with my Copic Markers. I embossed my background paper with the Snowflake embossing folder and just added a holiday sentiment from Stampin Up. The little flower and brad were from my stash. Well I am, hopefully, going to get back at the craft table right now after this post as I need to play catch up making cards for our heroes as I hope to send out another box to OWH within the next week. I wish you all a wonderful Sunday and rest of this week. Thank you for stopping by and see you all soon.

S & S Sketch Challenge #77

Good Sunday Afternon Everyone,
Here is my entry for our Sketch Challenge over at OWH's Stars and Stamps Blog. It just so happens to be our 29th anniversary tomorrow so this seems like a good card for me to give my Hubby. It's always nice when you can use a card in a challenge as well as in person. As you can see it is all done with SU's Real Red and Whisper White card stock. I'm sorry to say that I don't know where the designer paper is from. I also used the square lattace and the swiss dot embossing folders. The sentiment is from Stampotique. I added a little heart and some white brads to finish it off.
I hope you are all enjoying your day. It is quite hot here, but at least it is not raining. Thanks for topping by and hopefully I'll see you tomorrow.

S & S Sketch Challenge #76

Good Sunday Morning,

I'm kind of on the run this morning, but I just wanted to quickly post a card for this challenge we are having over at Stars and Stamps Blog. I liked this sketch very much and I found it easy for me to do today. I just started with SU's Pear Pizzazz paper and embossed it using their Square Lattice Embossing folder. The designer paper is from Basic Grey matted on plain white card stock. The sentiment is from Gina K Designs set titled Love Notes cut out with a Square Nestabilites and matted on a Scalloped Square Nestabilities. That is it for me today. Gotta run outside before it starts to rain, which they are calling for this afternoon.
Thank you for taking the time to stop by today. See you tomorrow. If you are going out to watch fireworks tonight, be careful.
