S & S Sketch #153

Good Sunday morning all.  This post is for the last Sketch Challenge of the year over at Stars & Stamps.   I picked a Cocoa Mouse image from SNSS  to work with today and I colored him with Copics.  He is cut out with SB Pinking Circle die and matted on a piece of Chocolate Chip paper.  The sentiment is from SU and the background paper is from my stash and I have no idea who is it by (sorry) but it matched the sponging I did with Tea Dye Distress Ink.    The horizontal strips are made with  EK Success Ric Rac Border Punch.  I'm hoping to be back later with another card.

Here was our sketch for this week.  I took some poetic license with the size of the square.
Thanks so much for stopping by.  See you later.

Merry Christmas

Good Morning All, I have no card to post today but I didn't want the day to go by without wishing each and every only of you a very Merry Christmas.  This morning is ideal here in southeastern Mass.  There is just a dusting of snow on the ground and it looks beautiful.

I think maybe I saw some reindeer prints on the back deck.

Everyone enjoy your day!
See you all soon.

S & S Sketch #151

Second post for me today.  YAY I'm on a roll!!! This card is for the OWH Stars and Stamps Sketch Challenge #152 found here.   Here is the card I made this morning, but I think this sketch will be used by me often in the upcoming weeks, as I found this to be a very cute and workable sketch.
 The background paper is from DCWV pad and I used SU's Pacific Point blue card stock on the bottom after embossing it with a Sizzix chevron folder.  The snowman is from DenamiDesigns.  I've had for years and I think it is darling.  It is not one I use often on cards themselves, but rather on the corner of an envelope.  The snowflakes are from the Snow Swirled set by SU.  The border punch is by MS.  The sentiment is from the Ready,Set,Snow set by Gina K Designs.  I stamped both the sentiment and the snowman in Versa Mark and embossed them with black to help them stand out more.  I'm kind of happy with this one.  Have a great day, everyone. I am heading back to the "drawing board" as it were.  See you again soon.  Thanks for taking a peek here today.

HMFMC #135

Hi All, I seem to be a day behind on the challenges I like to play, but I guess better late than never.  For my post today I made this card for the House Mouse Monday Challenge #135  Christmas Hug  or Kisses.

I know this isn't actually a hug or a kiss, but to me is it as sweet a Christmas picture as they come.  This image is titled "Kitty Snuggle".  It is colored with Copics and is die cut with Spellbinders Square and Scallop Square dies.  This darling pink heart ribbon was a gift from my dear friend, Carol, I just love it.    (Thank you Carol ) The sentiment was made by using two different SU stamps from the Fancy Flexible Phrase set and cut out with a SU die.  The designer paper is also from SU and is probably about 5 years old now.  Some of that hoarded stuff I have.   This will be the last challenge for this year at House Mouse & Friends so you should hop on over there and join in on the Holiday fun.
I'm hoping to get back here again this afternoon with my entry for the OWH Sunday Sketch Challenge.  We'll have to see how good I manage my time today. Time management is not always a strong suit of mine now that I'm retired.  LOL   Thanks for stopping by.  I love company.

S & S Mid Week Throw Down

Hi All, This week we have been challenged to make a card with a Hi, Hello, Thinking of You + use a die or punch being optional themed cards for our heroes to send home to their family and friends! Here is what I came up with. I had a lot of fun making this one.   I used the wing and the stem/leaf portions of the SU build a bird punch. I first took a sheet of white card stock and colored it with three different yellow Copic markers to get a blended look. Then I punched out 7 wings and glued them onto a small 1" circle I had cut from a piece of scrap paper. I used a 3/4 inch punch for the center of the flower. The stem/leaf portion of this flower was made using two of the stems from the bid punch and placing them together to get more length. I then cut the leaves off and placed them where I though they'd look best. I stamped a Hero Arts sentiment on the bottom of my brown panel and embossed it with Detail White embossing powder. The stem part of the flower is very delicate and I was sure it would not make the trip overseas and back to the U.S. so I placed a piece of transparency over it to protect the stem. As you can see I adhered it with four mini white brads. I used a MS punch for the edges of my yellow panel and a SU Polka Dot embossing folder for my back panel.  That will do it for me tonight.  I thank you for taking a minute to stop by.  As always, I love the company.  See you soon.

S & S Sketch and ODBD Challenges

Good Sunday Afternoon Bloggers - I have two card posting here today.  The first card is for the Stars & Stamps Sketch Challenge #150.

This one gave me trouble because I had a vision in my head that was very nice, but not so in real life, so after a couple of starts this is what I ended up with. Lately every couple of weeks my mojo seems to want to take a vacation and I'm not too happy about that.

Want Ad- Donna's MoJo is desperately missed, please come back home.
Image Gina K Designs - Ready Set Snow
Die cuts - Spellbinders
Patterned Paper - DCWV
Sentiment - SNSS  - SU Punches
Enbossing - SU Fancy Fan folder
Silver Dots - ????
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
This card is for the December OBDB/ OWH Challenge in which they challenged us to use flowers on our cards.
I went totally CAS here.  The flower was made by using layers of petals from Michaels and an Espirit.   The stem was from a retired SU set.  The sentiment is a fairly new-to-me single stamp from SU.  The Cuttlebug heart embossing folder, a silver brad as well as the corner punches finished this one off.
Well I'm off to hunt for my MoJo now.  Hopefully I will find it soon or maybe it will nice and just come back home on it's own.  In any case, thank you for taking the time to stop by to say Hello.
See you soon.  Enjoy the rest of your weekend.
Let It Snow HMFMC #134
Hi  I'm back with a second card for the House Mouse & Friends Monday Challenge "Let It Snow".  Last week I entered a card for this challenge, but then I received a shipment with some new adorable HM stamps so I decided to make a second card.
This House Mouse image is titled  Night Light and it just melted my heart when I saw it.
I colored the image with Copics and attempted to make a winter's night sky by sponging three different SU inks.  Sponging and I don't get along but I do keep trying.     Practice, Practice, Practice, right?     The little sentiment was made using two different retired SU stamps from the Fancy Flexible Phrases set.  Well I'm off to bathe my "babies" and then hopefully back to the drawing board this afternoon.  See you again soon.  Thanks so much for stopping by.
MWT- Love and Hugs
Hello - It is Wednesday which means Mid Week Throw Down over at Stars & Stamps.
I went with a super CAS card that I thought would be good for any gender to receive.  I used SU's Chocolate Chip card stock and light blue parchment paper. I embossed the parchment paper with the CB heart folder.   My heart punch, die, ribbon and sentiment are all from SU.  I wish you all a fabulous afternoon and evening.  I always love to see company at my Blogland door so thank you for stopping by.
HMFMC #134
"Let It Snow" is the theme for this week's challenge over at House Mouse & Friends Monday Challenge.  I didn't have a "snow" themed stamp, so to speak, so I tried my best at making a snow scene for the stamp I felt best met the challenge.
I used  a Stampabilities  image titled  Candlelight Chorus (MHTR1019).  You know anyone can sign in the rain or in the shower, but it takes a special group of little mice to sign in the snow, and this is certainly a special group of mice.     I was lucky enough to receive this stamp as part of my winnings last year at HMFMC.  I reduced it to better fit my card size  and colored it with Copics.  Some sponging with Broken China Distress Ink, Dazzling Diamonds glitter and Liquid Applique are all trying to do their part in replicating a snowy sky.  I added a MS Snowflake punch that was embossed with the CB Swiss Dot folder and then glittered with SU's Dazzling Diamonds.  The sentiment is computer generated and glittered to help it stand out.  That's it for me today.  See you again soon.  Thanks for taking a peek.
ATCAS #2
WOW My second post of the day and it's still morning.  This is my entry for the Addicted To CAS #2 challenge .  This week's challenge is being hosted by Marie and she picked "Bauble" as our codeword.  How fun!  Here is my entry
I decided to dig into my stashed items and pulled out a couple of old SU stencils.  I used SU's Bashful Blue and some Color Box Gold ink to stencil in this image.  The Sentiment is also from a SU set titled Snow Swirled.  I added a little gold cord bow, cut the image panel out with my wavy cutter and matted it onto a piece of Bashful Blue card stock and I was done.  I haven't stenciled in years, but I'm kind of happy with the outcome.  I think I might have to play with some more stencils in the near future.  Thank you so much for stopping by today.  It's always nice to see all of you.
S & S Sketch Challenge #149
Good Sunday Morning to all.  It  feels like winter here this morning, but will be going up into the 50's this afternoon and for the next three days so that will be nice.  Today over at Stars and Stamps we have a sketch challenge to follow.     Here is my take on it.
I have been working on Love cards this week so I thought I'd stick with that theme and this seemed like this one may work good as a masculine card.  Not too much bling.  The sentiment is by Katie & Co. and the paper is from My Minds Eye Meadow Lark pad.  The Basic Black and Tempting Turquoise card stocks are from SU.  I do hope all of you enjoy your Sunday and the upcoming week.  Thanks a bunch for stopping by.  I love company and comments.
Unloved Items Put To Good Use
Good Friday morning everyone.  I hope you are all experiencing a great day so far.  Last night  I went looking for one particular item and didn't find it but I found several other items that haven't seen any love for a while.   Feeling bad for these items, I decided to make a couple of cards for my next OWH box.
This first card was made with a Rub-On  I haven't used a rub-on in maybe 5 years so it was  time to try it again.
On this card I used this brown and black paper that I think I've had for maybe 8 or 9 years.  I ended up happy with the outcome of this masculine card, so I think you'll be seeing more of this paper from me in the future.
  This last card was made using a MS All Around Punch that I could not wait to buy and then used it maybe once or twice, so it was just time to bring it back out.
This may do it for me today, but hopefully I'll be back tomorrow.  I thank you for stopping by.  It is always nice to see company here.  Enjoy your upcoming weekend.
SOS #79 Odds and Ends
A quick post for Shopping Our Stash Challenge #79 which is to use odds and ends or something on your desk that is waiting to be used.  This easy for me as there are tons of things on my desk on any one given day that should get used.  Here is my card.
The punches are from  MS and the heart is from SU.  The sentiment is from a Gina K Designs set titled Love Notes.  This heart and punched strips have been sitting on my desk for about 2 months now so I am very happy Shopping Our Stash called for items waiting to be used.  Thanks for taking a minute out of your day to stop by.  See you soon.
S & S WMT - Winter Fun
This week's Mid Week Throw Down over at Stars & Stamps is to make a card depicting Winter Fun.
I knew right away which stamp set  I was going to ink up.  Both the image and sentiment is from Gina K Designs Ready,Set,Snow set.
Our heroes are always looking for Thank You cards so this sentiment along with this image just seemed perfect to me for this challenge.  I colored the image with Copics and cut it out with a SB scallop rectangular die. My sponging is done with Broken China Distress Ink.   I used Cuttlebug embossing folders on both the blue and silver panels.  The card base and the black panel are both SU's card stock.  I hope this little guy brings a smile to someone's face as he did to mine.  Hopefully I'll see you tomorrow.     Thanks for stopping by to say hello.  It's always fun to have company.  Enjoy your evening.
S & S Sketch Challenge #148
This week's sketch at Stars & Stamps  was really hard for me.  I just can't get into tags so it took me all day to think of something to do.  I finally came up with this card.
Both the image and the sentiment are from a Gina K Designs set titled Ready, Set, Snow.    I colored the image with Copics and used my cutter with the zig zag edge.  I ran my Krylon Gold Leaf Pen around the edges of the image panel.  I stamped the brown panel with SU's weathered stamp and then embossed it with a TH Alterations (tree) folder.  The middle panel is embossed with the CB Swiss Dot folder.  A flat bow, made with SU's Chocolate Chip ribbon, was added and I was done.  Now that I look at it more I think I may go back and add a few little baby hearts to the Very Vanilla panel.
I wish you all a wonderful evening and a fun week ahead.  Thanks so much for stopping by.
S & S Sketch Challenge #147
Good Sunday Morning to all of you.  Sunday means S & S Sketch Challenges.  This week I guess I just felt like being a non-conformist. I just ran off in all directions with this sketch.  Don't know what got into me but I went with it anyway.  I figure some card is better than no card for our heroes.
I ended up making this card.
I started with a Rich Razzleberry card base and then colored up a Gina K Designs stamp from her Dogwood and Butterfly set.  I did a lot of embossing with the Swiss Dot folder and the smaller hearts are made from scraps of Alcohol Ink paper that I made a while ago.  They are cut out using a Creative Memories Heart Punch.   I used a MS border punch to finish off the top panel and my wavy cutter for the white panel.  That will have to do it for me today.  I have some things to do this morning and then plan on relaxing this afternoon watching Food Network and the final NASCAR
race for this year.  Boo Hoo!!!! Enjoy your day and I wish you all a wonderful week ahead and the best of  Thanksgivings.  Thanks so much for taking time to stop by for a visit.  Love the company.
Winter Blues - CAS Style
Well I was hoping to get to make and post this card this afternoon and I did.  YAY!
This one is for two challenges, which is always nice when that happens.   The first challenge is ATCAS #1  (Addicted To CAS)  which is brand new challenge that began this week and looks to be a great challenge site. This week their code word is "snow".  This card is also for the CAS-ual Fridays Challenge #79   which is Winter Blues.        Two CAS challenges - my favorite style.
I made the background paper using Alcohol Inks: Stream, Pool and Snow Cap White, then I embossed it with Cuttlebug Heart folder.  The snowflake is punched from a SU punch and glittered. The center portion is from a small Recollections punch I've had for a while.  I added a little pearl in the center, just because it seemed like a good thing to do.   The adorable penguin is from a Gina K Designs set titled, Ready, Set, Snow.  I colored him with Copics and fussy cut him out.  The sentiment is from that same set.    I wish you all a good Saturday evening and thank you all for taking a minute to stop by.  Hope to see you all again tomorrow.
SOS #76 - Best Deal
Over at Shopping Our Stash they are looking for your Best Deal or Something I Had To Have. This was the case with this stamp.
The image is by Part Time Stamps and I found it at a yard sale that our LSS was having a many years ago.  It was only $.50 and I just Had To Have It, not only for the price but I thought the image was darling and I had someone specific in mind when I saw it.  I pull it out every so often, dust it off and make a card for a cat lover with it.  Sometimes I color this one in, sometimes not - today was a not day.  I used an sentiment from a Hero Art/Operation Write Home set.  If you read my last post you know I plan on using the stamps from that set often because I love them all.  The die is an A2 Polka Dot die by SB.   I just added four silver adhesive dots in the corners and I was done.  Thank you for coming by to say Hi.  Company is always welcome and appreciate.  Enjoy your day.
PS:   My neighbor is out there blowing his leaves around and now I feel guilty that I am not out there doing the same thing, (we have soooooo many leaves on the ground)  so I may have to go outside for a while.  Darn It - and my plan was to craft a big part of the day.  I found that it doesn't pay to plan - just go with the flow.        See you again soon.
CFC78 - So Torn
My card today is for the CAS-ual Friday Challenge which is So Torn.  Tear something on your card, card stock, designer paper, felt, whatever you can tear.
Here is what I came up with.
My mojo has taken a little vacation so my brain is working on a few less batteries.  LOL  Anyway I finally picked up this Hero Arts/Operation Write Home stamp set yesterday.  I love every stamp in the set so I don't know what took me so long to purchase it, but I have it now so you'll probably see a lot of these stamps used over and over again for a while.  Let me just apologize for that now.   I used a Sizzix Striped embossing folder and a Cuttlebug Heart folder.  The hearts are from a MS heart border  punch.    It was easy and in CAS but it seem to have taken me forever to make it.  If anyone has been in touch with my brain or the mojo part of it, can you send it back home soon please.  I really miss it.  Anyway have a great Saturday, do something fun.  It is suppose to be nice here in southeastern Ma.  both today and tomorrow.  Maybe in the 70's tomorrow.  Thanks for stopping by.
HMFMC #132 Getting Ready for Christmas
Hi All, Well we got 4 inches of snow last night and it is bitterly cold and windy this afternoon.  Saturday it is suppose to be in the high 60's.  This is just unbelievable.  Whatever the weather I am always in the mood for Christmas with the little meeces!
This week over at House Mouse and Friends we are to make a card that is Christmas related.
 It looks like these little guys are all pooped out from putting the lights on the tree. That's a lot of work so they deserve a short nap.  LOL  The image and sentiment are both from Stampabilities.    I colored the image with Copics and matted it with red and gold card stock.  I also used a scallop SB die.  The pine branches are made with a MS punch with three different shades of green.  I then spritzed some of them with Ritzy Ditzy spritz.  The bow is made with ribbon I've had for years and have no idea where I got it.  The pearls are by David Tutera Bridal Collection pearls that I picked up at JoAnn's.   I really need to take a photography class some day soon so I can get better pictures of these cards.  Hope you are all enjoying this week and will be able to do something fun over the weekend.  I hope to be back later with another challenge card.  Thank you so much for stopping by.
S & S Sketch #145
Good Sunday afternoon to all of you.  For today's sketch over at Stars & Stamps I tweaked it a bit to suit the vision I had in my little brain.  Here is our sketch we had to go by.
Here is my card for today.  As you can see I turned it to suit the image and I took license with the vertical stripes.
The image is from the SU set titled Thoughts and Prayers.  I colored the stamp with SU markers before stamping it.  The sentiment is by Gina K Designs from the set titled Love Notes.  I think the sentiments in this set a great for our heroes and their loved ones.  I also colored that one before stamping.  My stripes were made but just cutting thin strips on my wavy cutter.  The background panel is embossed using the SU Fancy Fan folder.  I figure this one could be used for Valentines day as well as any other day of the year.  Thanks for taking some time out of your day to stop by.  Hope to see you again soon.  The sun is shining bright here today and I hope you are all getting a bit of sunshine today also.  See ya soon!
ODBD November challenge
This month the ODBD challenge over at OWH is to make a card using a technique or tool you rarely use.
 I went with emboss resist which I haven't done in ages and I don't know why because I really like this technique.  I used Bashful Blue and Certainly Celery SU inks and the stamp in from Memory Box.  Sentiment is by Studio G and the gems were from my stash.  Simple and quick.  Hopefully I'll be back later on today with another posting for OWH's sketch challenge.  See you soon and thank you for stopping by.
Midweek Throwdown - Friendship
Good Thursday Evening. We've spent a big part of the day preparing for Hurricane Sandy so I'm kind of late with this post.  We have to get it all done now because my Hubby works for the Electric Company and once the storm hits (actually even before it hits), I won't see him for days.  Anyway Operation Write Home is looking for cards celebrating Friendship for this challenge.
I went with an oldie but a goody here.   Both the image and the sentiment are from a retired SU set titled Pocket Silhouettes.  I always loved the simplicity of the stamps in this set.  I used a strip of retired Christmas paper also from SU on the inside of the card with the same scallop edging on the left hand side of that strip.  The scalloped edge was made with a MS border punch.   That is it for me today.  I'm hoping to do a little bit of coloring tonight before I sit down for the night.   I wish you all a great night and wonderful day tomorrow.  Thank you for taking time out of your busy schedule to stop by.
Shopping Our Stash #74
I'm back again with today's second post.  This card was made for the Shopping Our Stash Challenge #74, which is Out Of The Jar or Use A Jar.
I have to tell you that this card gave me such a hard time.   I don't have any jar images so I used items from my jars.  I knew I wanted to use SU's Gold embossing powder because I usually use another brand and I haven't used that one in ages. I also knew I wanted to use my SU Dazzling Diamonds glitter.  Most of my cards are made for OWH so I don't get a chance to use the glitter too much these days.  So here is my final take.  First off I stamped this image three times before I got a good stamping.  Then I thought I'd try using Flower Soft (instead of the DD) of on the roof and didn't like it.   So back to my original thought  -   Dazzling Diamonds.   Then I decided to stamp a sentiment on the top of the card and I did not get a good, clear stamping which is why you see an "added" red panel with a whole new sentiment stamped and embossed.  I decided to also dry emboss this panel with the Swiss Dot ef.  On top of all this I could not get a good picture of this card.  Who knew making one little card could be so exhausting.     So I think I'll go sit back and relax for a while. I don't think I'll be back today, but hopefully tomorrow.  Thank you so much for your visit.  I enjoy the company and feedback.  Enjoy your day.
HMFMC #131
SPOOK Sweet & Colorful using Orange, Purple, Lime Green and Black or any combination of is what is called for this week over at House Mouse and Friends.  There is also a great Blog Hop going on this week that you really should check out.  The DT have come up with some phenomenal creations.
I think I got a little of everything in on this card.  I definitely think my image is as sweet as can be.  He is colored with Copic Markers, sponged with SU's Green Galore, cut out with a SB Label Ten die and matted on an orange SB oval die, which I spritz with my Ritzy Glitzy Copper Spray.     I found these candy corn brads in my stash this week - another sweet element.   The "spooky" ghost, which I have to admit to you, was my Hubby's brilliant idea.  I just loved it when he mentioned it.  I made the background papers with Alcohol Inks incorporating  the greens and purples and black is usually a staple of mine anyway. Both the image and the sentiment are from the HM  "Halloween clear stamp set"  I picked up last year.       So there you have it for this week's challenge.  I really had a ball doing this one up.  I wish you all a delightful Tuesday.  Even though the sun is shining here I think I want to stay inside today and work on more challenges.  We'll see how this goes.   Thanks a bunch for stopping by to say Hi.
S & S Sketch #143
What a beautiful Sunday morning we are having here in southeastern Massachusetts.  Today's sketch over are Stars & Stamps is being sponsored by Tonic Studios.
I'm sorry to say I don't have any Tonic punches, but I do have plenty of others. I guess that means I need to go shopping.  LOL.
Today I went with SU's Scallop Trim punch which I just love.  I punched two sides of a thin strip of paper.  I embossed them with the Swiss Dot ef and then spritzed them with Ritzy Ditzy Copper Glitz before backing them with SU's Basic Black card stock.  The sentiment and the snowflakes are both from the Snow Swirled set by SU.  I stamped them with Versa Mark  and  embossed them in gold.  Again I used my Swiss Dot embossing folder to dry embossed the background.  That may do it for me today.  I'm getting ready to head out to have lunch with some friends I haven't seen in ages.  Really looking forward to that.    I wish you all a fabulous day.
See you again soon.
Shopping Our Stash #73 Trick or Treat
I thought I was done for the day, but it turns out that I'm back with my second post of the day.  Over at Shopping Our Stash they have challenged us to make a trick or treat card,  either Halloween or a treat.
As you can see, I went with Halloween and I used all sorts of "stash" items on this one.
The House Mouse image and sentiment are both from the clear stamp"Halloween Collection" that I've had for about a year now and I colored it with Copics. The little charm is one that I won last year from a House Mouse challenge.  The background paper (which has pumpkins on it that you can't see very well) I've had for about 5 years.  It was given to my by a friend, thanks Yvette.  The twine is about one year old also.  The green card stock is from SU.  I really think that this will do it for me today.  See you again tomorrow and, as usual I really appreciate the company.
Mid Week Throw Down
Happy Wednesday to all.  Doodle Pantry is the sponsor for this week's challenge over at Operation Write Home's Mid Week Throw Down.  Our challenge is to make a card using black and white with a pop of red or green.
I have a little more than a pop of red, but hey, it's what came into my head.  My image is from Doodle Pantry and the card stock is all from SU.  The sentiment is from CC Rubber Company and is an oldie but a goodie.   That will have to do it for me today.  Hopefully I'll see you all again tomorrow.
Thank you so much for stopping by.
Sketch Challenge #142
Sunday means Operation Write Home's Stars and Stamps blog posts their sketch challenge for the week.  The week is # 142 found here.
I decided to make another Any Hero card for the box I'm shipping out this week.  I just embossed my card base with the "So Trendy" M-Bossabilities folder.  The panels are from Basic Grey  and the sentiment is from A-Muse "Hero Mail" stamp set and cut out with a SB Grommet Tag.  I sponged both Crumb Cake and Chocolate Chip ink around the edges of the die.  The star brads are all from Recollections.  Thank so much or dropping by. It's so much fun to have company.  See you all soon.
OWH Mid Week Throw Down
Back again with a card for Operation Write Home's Mid Week Throw Down found here.  Here is my card.
I started with a Whisper White card base and embossed it with a Cuttlebug Edge Folder.  I added some red gems for flower centers.  I cut up some red card stock in the form of thin strips and a piece large enough for the die cut heart.  I embossed that piece with a hearts embossing folder from Cuttlebug and cut out the heart with a  Sizzix die.  The sentiment is from Stampotique and I stamped it inside the negative space.  That about all I've got in me for today folks.  Thanks again for taking the time to stop by.  I truly appreciate it.
A Simple Card for OWH
Good Wednesday morning all.  My card today came about because of two very dear friends of mine, Carol over at Our Little Inspirations and Lynn over at Creative Crafts by Lynn .
The other day Lynn and I were talking about wearing the color orange with grey hair and today Carol make a bunch of fabulous cards for OWH using a Hero Arts stamp set.  I got up this morning and thought I need to combine those two things and make a card.  So as you can see I used some grey (actually silver) and orange papers and I used one of the stamps from the Hero Art stamp set that was made for OWH.  I know one of the simple pleasures I have is watching a butterfly in flight so I dug out this butterfly stamp from Stamp Craft and colored it up with my Copics sticking with the orange theme.  I matted everything with black and I'm pleased with the outcome.  I hope Lynn and Carol are pleased with it as well as all my visitors and the recipient of this card.  I'm going to try to make a bunch of cards for OWH today and tomorrow as I'm getting ready to send off another box to them and I'm trying to fill it as much as possible.  Gotta run for now.  Enjoy your day and thank you for stopping by.
HMFMC #130 ATC Turnabouts
WOW two posts one day - I'm on a roll.  This card is for House Mouse and Friends Monday Challenge found here  .  ACT turnabouts is what it is all about this week.
My image, "Nose To Nose In Flowers" and my sentiment, "Happy Place", are both from Stampabilities.   I stamped and colored the image with Copics then I reduced it enough to fit (with layers) the 2 1/2 x 3 1/2 size of an ATC.  Then I re-colored it as it seems to lose a lot of it's color when the image is reduced. The designer paper was from The Christmas Tree Shop.   I added a bow with an old  piece Wild Wasabi ribbon from SU.  I attached a small piece of the Dotted Scallop Ribbon punch and added 5 Topaz Swarovski Crystals along the top and bottom.  It is  hard to see in the photo, but IRL they sparkle nicely.  My sentiment was stamped with Versa Mark and embossed with black embossing powder to make it stand out more.     Well I think I'll take a short break now, then spend some time cleaning up the desk.  I can't believe how much of a mess I can make just doing two cards.  Enjoy your evening and thanks for coming by.
SOS Challenge #72 Tic Tac Toe
Good Tuesday Afternoon
My card today for the the Shopping Our Stash Tic Tac Toe Challenge
I went with the Middle, horizontal row.  Black Ribbon & Flower.
I'm kind of pleased with how this one turned out.  The paper is from My Mind's Eye, Meadow Lark 6 x 6 pad.  I stamped my "go to" Hello stamp from Hero Arts which must be at least 7 years old.   I've had this package of crocheted flowers for at least three years now and the black ribbon by Gina K  is a couple of years old also.  Oh, I'm proud of myself using up some stashed items.  I decided to use the SB Ribbon Tag Trio Two die to showcase the flower. I took an old piece of white SU ribbon and colored it with a Copic Marker to try and match the flower color.  It's not perfect but I think it will do. A silver brad for the flower center was my finishing touch.    I'm going to try to catch up on a couple more challenges this afternoon if my back will hold out.  Thanks so much for stopping by to say Hi.  See you again soon.
OWH Challenge x 2
Hi All, This will be an abbreviated posting today.  The day has gotten away from me so here it goes.
Today over at the Stars & Stamps Challenge   blog they gave us two different sketches to follow.  Here is our first sketch for today.
 For this card I used a SB circle and a SB Labels Ten die.  After cutting the Label Ten die out  I embossed it using a paisley Impressabilities and then sponged Peeled Paint Distress Ink over it.
I also embossed my vertical strip of green parchment card stock with the Swiss Dot ef.
 Here is our bonus Sketch for today.
 Here is my entry for this sketch.  I embossed the card base with Spellbinders  "So Trendy"
M-Bossabilities.  The stamps are retired from SU and I colored them with SU markers prior to stamping.  I just added a few strips of red card stock, holiday patterned paper, a few gems and I was done. (I just noticed that my gems are not straight).  I will definitely fix that before putting this card into my next OWH box.
That will do it for me today.  I'm off to catch the rest of the NASCAR race.  I thank you all for taking the time to stop by.  As always the company and comments are very much appreciated.
