HM&FMC #160 Mid Way - Gold or Silver

Well here we are just about to start a whole new year.  Boy are they flying by.  We have a one month long challenge over at House Mouse & Friends to use gold or silver and we are at our half way point so I'm here with a card using both gold and silver.  As you can see my gold is in the candle holder and outlining the die piece.  The circular mat and back panel are both SU! Silver card stock.

I colored my image with Copics, cut it out and matted it with SB dies.  I used the SU! Square Lattice embossing folder as well as the  Cuttlebug Swiss Dot folder.  The sentiment was stamped and cut out with a SU! jewelry tag. I ran some gold cord though the tag and around the corner.   The flower is a punch I've had for eons and it does not have a name on it.  I added a blue gem to it and I was done.  It is always nice to be able to put together a simple quick card during this time of year.    Please stop by House Mouse & Friends and see all the great inspiration the Design Team has put together for you.

S & S Sketch Challenge #205

I'm back with my card for the OWH's Sketch Challenge #205 found here.   This was an easy, fun sketch to work with.  As you can see I flipped it for my card.

I started with my little strip of paper and then went from there. My card stock colors are a bit brighter than the colors in the paper but it was the closest I had on hand. I embossed the purple panel using an M-Bossabilities folder and the green is done with a Darcy folder.    The sentiment is by Stampendous and I just colored in the hearts and cut it out with SB dies.   I found some red stickers that matched the red hearts so I added a few of them here and there.     I think that will do it for me tonight.  Thanks a bunch for stopping by.  See you again soon.

More Valentines

Hi all, Hope you all have enjoyed your weekend.  Ours was very nice.  Trying to build up my supply of Valentine's cards.  Here is one I made today.
I started this one with some of this cool background paper by Carta Bella that I received as a gift from a dear friend.  The I cut out my hearts with a Sizzix die and embossed them with three different folders.  The sentiment heart is punched from my Creative Memories punch and the sentiment is by SNSS.  The grey is Basic Grey by SU! but it appears darker in this photo.  My last step was to round off one corner and I was done.  I'll try to hit the crafting table again for a little while tonight.  Thanks so much for taking a peek into my little corner of the world.  See you again soon.

It's A Deedee Anderson Kind Of Day

I have been using Deedee Anderson's images all morning for my cards and as promised here I am with some more Valentine's Cards for the Kids.
I went with another of DeeDee Anderson's darling pre-colored images titled "Valentine Tweet" found here .  I moved away from traditional colors for this one as I had in my mind that I wanted to do a card for a young boy and thought these colors fit the bill.  Not that red doesn't, but I worked off of the colors of this cute little bird.

On the next two cards I again used also pre-colored images from Deedee titled "From The Heart"found here.    I did boy and girl versions using the same image but different die pieces and sentiments.   As you can see the boy mouse is holding a plain heart. with the sentiment on the bottom of the card   - - -
In the girl's version I cut out another heart from the set and placed it inside the larger heart and that became my sentiment.
For a little added touch on her version I outlined the image with a BG10 Copic Marker and then punched out some hearts from a MS punch and added them into the centers of the hearts in the background paper.  The background papers also come with this set.  Both of these last two cards look brighter in real person, but I'm having one of those bad photo days.  Well I'm back to the drawing board for a while.  Thanks for the visit.  I always appreciate your company and comments.  See you soon.   It's dreary here and they are calling for rain later on today but I hope you are enjoying some sun shine where you are.

Happy Valentine's Day

I'm sorry I've been MIA for a while now.  You know all those things that go along with the holidays just kept me from making any cards.  Hopefully I'm back in the groove.  Here is my card for this morning.
I used this darling image from DeeDee Digi's  titled Up & Away.  This is a darling set and worth taking a look at.  I found this tan checkered paper in my stash and thought it would go well with this little guy's basket. The sentiment is by SU!.    I added some hearts and silver candy dots and I was done.  This one will be going to Cards For Hospitalized Kids.    My goal this week is to make a lot of Valentine's cards for kids.  I hope I can meet my goal.  Wish me luck.  Thanks so much for stopping by today.  Hope to be back again this afternoon.  ( Got to play catch up) Enjoy your Saturday.

House Mouse & Friends #160 -Gold or Silver

Happy Monday Morning to all of you - Today I am here with my card for our Challenge over at House Mouse & Friends found here.  This week we'd like to see silver or gold on your House Mouse creations.   I do know how busy it is this time of year, but we would love to have you join in on the fun.
Here is my card for this week.
I colored up this precious image titled Kitty Snuggle with Copic Markers.  As you can see I went with green and purples along with my gold to finish up this card.  The background paper is by SU! (retired).  The poinsettia is make up with SB dies and some fronds made with a MS punch.    I used a Word Window Punch (cut off one end) from SU! in the upper right hand corner.  The  sentiment was made with a retired SU! punch and a circle punch.  The sentiment itself is by CC Rubber Stamp Company.  Ribbon is from a roll I picked up at Michaels.  All the gems are from Pizzazz Aplenty. That's it about my card, can't wait to see what you come up with.      We have some great gifts from our two very generous sponsors listed below.  Thanks for taking a peek at my card.  See you soon.

OWH Mid Week Throw Down

I'm here with a quick post for the MTW over at OWH.  We were asked to submit "general love cards"
Here is my entry.
The color is a little off here because the paper is actually more of a purple than the grey that it appears to be.  Weird, I know purple and red, but for some reason the sentiment sticker was sitting near the paper and it looked pretty good to me so I went with it.  That sticker, by the way, is from a sheet of stickers that was bought maybe 20 - 25 years ago for some little Valentine project.  If I remember correctly I stuck them all over the table cloth for our Valentine's dinner.    I really do have to start using up my "stuff" in a more timely fashion.  LOL   The double hearts are by Inkadinkado and I embossed them with black embossing powder.  Then I just dashed around everything and it was ready to go into the next box for OWH.  Hope you are all having a lovely day.  It's quite cold here in southeastern Mass, but it is normal for this time of year.  Maybe getting 6" of snow on Sunday.  Hubby will be very happy.  LOL  Thanks for taking the time to  visit.  I always love the company.  See ya again soon.

HM&FMC Mid Week - Anything Christmas

Here we are at the mid week point for our "Anything Christmas" Challenge over at House Mouse & Friends Monday Challenge found here.  My other team mates have some great inspiration to share with you. Please be sure to take a peek.   This week I went with this darling image titled  "Paws To Warm".
I had a ball coloring this image with my Copics and then dotted all around the panel with my Multiliner.   It's hard to see but these little meeces are standing on glittered snow.  I wanted to keep it clean and simple so I just added the sentiment which is by  Stampabilities and used a retired SU! corner punch to give it the photo corner look.    The snowflakes are made with a MS punch and I added some green gems to the centers.   The background paper is from my stash and I'm sorry but I don't know who it is by.   We do hope you join in on the fun for this challenge. You have until December 15th to enter your creations.   Looking forward to seeing them.

Stars & Stamps Sketch Challenge #202

Well Sunday means another Sketch Challenge over at OWH.  We have a beautiful sample which I started to follow but went off course somewhere and forgot to round one corner.  I'm still OK with the finished product though.  Let's hope a hero will be also.

I think it would make a good masculine card as there is no bling on here at all. The blue and vanilla card stocks are both  by SU!  The embossing folders I used were Square Lattice by SU! and a Cuttlebug Heart folder.  The XOXO were made with a Provo Craft Die and the hearts are Creative Memories punches.  I popped up both the square and the heart with SU! dimensionals.   That's about all there is to say about this one.  I do hope you are all having a great day where ever you are.  It is very raw and cold today and we are suppose to get snow and ice starting at midnight tonight.  I hope that translates to a lot of crafting time for me tomorrow.  I truly appreciate you stopping by.  Company is always nice.

MWT - Valentine Card

This week our Mid Week Throw Down challenge is to make a Valentine's Card. I went with a "love" card in the event my card doesn't reach OWH on time.  This way it can be used all year long.
I had a terrible time photographing this card. Of course we all know that I'm not too good in the picture taking category anyway but this one seemed exceptionally hard.  The paper is from Christmas Tree Shop and it is ALMOST these colors (this being my big photo problem) The green hearts are actually Old Olive Green from SU! which is much lighter than photographed.  I added little pearls from JoAnn's to the hearts after I embossed them with a Fancy Fan Embossing Folder by SU!.  The sentiment is cut out with a Provo Craft die.  Hopefully the recipient won't care what the colors are supposed to be, because the important thing is that they know they are loved.  Thanks so much for stopping by my little corner of the world.  See you soon.

Another Deedee's Digi of the Month

All of our children have a gift that they love to receive at Christmas.  We call it a "Ditty Box".  It's a tote that we fill with things that they need but hate to spend the money on like paper towels, cleaning supplies, toothpaste, etc.  Well this year one of our daughters, Alli,  will not be making it home for Christmas so I made her a very small ditty box, just a few small items like lip balm, cough drops, etc. and a check to buy what she needs at home.  This way she still gets her ditty box without us spending a mint on shipping a big tote.   Yesterday I played along in  Deedee's December Digi Challenge  I used her free image titled Gingerbread Train.  While I was making my card, I kept thinking that I could use these digi images for my Ditty Box.  So today I made up Alli's Ditty Box - what do you think?

I enlarged and printed out the pre-colored image of the train and the conductor and then I cut the conductors's head off and pieced it into the train window.  I colored the ground with Copics and used some Tumbled Glass Distress Ink for the sky.  The sentiment comes along with the Gingerbread Train set.  After printing it out and matting it I added a little red brad to match the door knob on the train.   It's very hard to see in this picture but I added Dazzling Diamonds to the MS snowflakes and the top of the train. I think you might be able to see it better if you click on the image to enlarge it.  I am happy with the way it came out and I'm pretty sure Alli will get a kick out of it as well as being happy that she still gets here Ditty Box.      That's it for me for tonight.  I'll see you again soon and as always I appreciate your visit and comments.

Deedee's December Digi of the Month

Two posts in one day.   I'm kind of proud of myself.
Here we are in the month of December already.  Where did the year go?  I like the beginning of the month though because it means a new challenge for Deedee's Digi of the Month.  This month Deedee has a new set of images titled Gingerbread Trains for you to have fun with.  If you played last month you got a freebee of this set this month, but if not you can always purchase it very reasonably on her site.  The set contains two images and three sentiments.  I love this set for children.  It will really bring smiles to little one's faces.  Here is what I came up with for this challenge.
I went with the pre-colored image in this set. I love having the option to color myself or use the pre-colored version and cut it out with SB dies.   I added a small piece of SU! ribbon and a candy cane brad.  I went with a sentiment that I already had and embossed it in black powder.  The little flowers are made with a MS Hydrangea punch and small pearls from Pizzazz Aplenty.

Here is the complete set - Isn't it darling?

Well that will do it for me today.  But I'm hoping to be back tomorrow with another card from this set.  Wishing you all a great Monday.  Thanks for popping in for a visit.

House Mouse & Friends Monday Challenge #159

Good Monday morning.  Hope you all had a great weekend.  Our talented teammate, Tracy, has picked our theme for this week.   She has chosen  Anything Christmas.  I figured this little mousy Santa delivering some sweet candy canes would qualify.  Hope you agree.
I'm not even a fan of candy canes, but I may have to learn to like them if they are going to be delivered by this guy.  This image is titled "Candy Claus" and I colored him with Copics. Designer paper is from a retired SU! 6 x 6 pad.    The sentiment is by Craftsmart and the glittered snow was made with SU! Dazzling Diamonds.  The candy canes and poinsettia were all in my stash. For a final touch I add some rhinestones, also from my stash, and I pierced the right hand corner of my focal piece.  Please stop by the House Mouse & Friends blog to see all the fabulous creations by our talented members of the Design Team.  I realize it is a busy time of year but I'm hoping we've served up enough inspiration for you to take a few minutes and join us for our challenge.   We'd love to see your cards and we've got some great sponsors just waiting to hand out some very generous prizes.  Thanks for stopping by to take a peek.  I'll see you again soon.

S & S Challenge #201

Good Sunday morning to you all.  Hope your weekend is going well so far.  I woke up to find that over at the  Stars & Stamps blog they were showcasing one of my past cards as a sample for this week's challenge.  I am very honored - thank you Marlene.  So here is a new card I made using this sketch.

I went back a ways in my stamps and pulled out a couple of  retired stamps from SU!.  I colored the flower with Copics and embossed the sentiment with Detail Silver embossing powder.  The border punch is from SU! as are the papers.  That will do it for me today.  Thank you so much for stopping by.  Wishing you all a fun day.
