Mid Week Throwdown x's 3

Hi blogger friends.  Today I have put together a card for Stars and Stamps Mid Week Throwdown challenge found here.  We need to use three of  something on our cards.

I decided to go with an Any Hero card today. Recipe is as follows.
Papers and sentiment are all from SU,
Star Dies are from SB,
Brads are from Recollections.
Embossing Folder is from Sizzix
That will have to do it for me today.  I've got a full plate and I'm hoping to get a lot of it in before the thunder storms begin.  Thank so much for popping by.

HM&FMC #145

Good Monday morning blogger friends.  Here I am guest designing again for House Mouse & Friends.     Yay for me!   Our theme this week is Flower Power or Flour Power.  I went with Flower Power.  This is a fun challenge and it would be great if you joined us.    We'd love to see what you come up with.

This stamp, titled, Sunny Side Up, just jumped out at me for this challenge.  I colored it with Copics and fussy cut it.  Wow, I went all out for this one as I usually do very little in the way of cutting.    I punched out  a fence with a MS punch from Very Vanilla paper that I had stamped with SU's "Weathered" stamp.   The flower is glued at the bottom and popped up at the top. IRL it looks like it is really growing from behind the fence.     I just love this plaid paper but I have no idea where I got it.  It was a 12 x 12 sheet.  I matted it onto a piece of Garden Green paper.  The sentiment is by SU and I cut it out with a SB Ribbon Tag set.  While it was still in the die I did a little sponging.  I used both Certainly Celery and Wild Wasabi ribbons and added a couple of silver dots.  My finishing touch was to add a few little mice feet.  That will do it for me for today.  Thanks a bunch for stopping by for a little visit.  See you soon.

S & S Sketch Challenge #173

Here is my card for today's sketch challenge over at Stars & Stripes found here.

As you can see I took a little bit of poetic licence with this one by turning it and also adjusting the size of the focal panel.  Instead of adding an embellishment on the side, I used a SU half circle punch and then added a heart to that.  The flower is by SU and was stamped in Bashful Blue and I colored the center with a Copic marker.  The sentiment is by Gina K.  I used a Darice embossing folder that was given to me by my dear friend, Carol.  I am now thinking that I may add some Glossy Accents to the flower center.  What do you think?  Well,  I wish you all a relaxing evening.  Thanks for popping in.

MWT - So Sentimental

This we OWH has asked us to make a card that has the sentiment as our focal point.  I did about as CAS as you can get.  Here is my card for this  challenge.
Now that I look at this card I noticed that my sentiment die piece is not centered.  I'll change that before it goes in the next box.  I pearced the corners and added a couple of gems from JoAnns.
Sentiment - Hero Arts White Embossed
Designer paper - Retired SU
Die - SB Lacey Oval
Frame - SB A-2 Matting Basic A
That'll have to do it for me tonight.  Than you to taking a peek.  I love the company.

S & S Sketch Challenge #172

Another week has flown by and we are back at Sunday which means the Stars & Stamp Sketch Challenge .  Here is the sketch for this week - - -
- - - And this is what I came up with.
I just love this SU sentiment for our heroes and I wanted it to be the focal point.  The patterned paper is by Crate Paper.  It is cut out with Postage and Square SB dies.  The little flower is by AMuse and I colored it with Copics.  I have black bulky Glitter by SU in the flower center and Glossy Accents covering the glitter.  The Lattice embossing folder is by SU.   I do hope all Mom's out there had a wonderful day today, I know I did.  In between visits and calls from family I  even found time to do some yard work and I managed to get this card made. So all in all it was a great day.    Now I need to go make some cookies, because I think I'm in the mood for something sweet.
Thanks a bunch for taking the time to visit.  Bye for now.

MWT - His & Hers

Today my cards are for the Stars & Stamps Mid Week Throw Down found here.  They have challenged us to make cards for both guys and gals.  This is what I came up with for my "his" card. I went with Chocolate Chip as my base color and the patterned paper is by Gina K.  I used SB pinked circles and a brad and eyelet from SU (both retired now).  I embossed them with the Swiss Dot folder.

This is my "her" card.  On this one I used two different designer papers.  The pink is by SU and the gold is by Gina K.  The flower is made up from SU's Blossom and Scallop punches and a MS flower punch with a SU brad.  Again I embossed with the Swiss Dot folder.

That will do it for me today.  I wish I could say I would be working in the yard, but we have rain today, so I guess the house should have it's turn at getting cleaned.  I worked quite a few hours this past weekend on a scrapbook so I'm afraid I neglected a lot of things, so now it's catch up time.  I wish you all a great day and would like to say Thank You for stopping by.

PS: I just noticed that I do not like that way this Gina K paper looks in print.  It is beautiful in real life.  Here it looks all smuggie (is that a word?) and bumpy, but you'll have to take my word for it, it's gorgeous paper.

HMFMC #144 "Feeling Blue"

I am totally honored to be a guest designer for May and June over at House Mouse and Friends Monthly Challenge.  You should all join in with us for this challenge because if you win you, too, could be a guest designer for a month.  It's fun and quite an honor!!!!
This week our challenge in "Feeling Blue" which means you can either use the color blue, or the feeling blue, or sad how ever you wish to interrupt it. So you have lots of ways you can go with this one.
My little "sickie" scene is titled Mouse Drops.  I just think it's as cute as you can get.  I colored it with Copics, cut it out with SB dies and layered all that onto a large paper flower that was white and I spritz it with Sapphire Spritz to come up with a hint of blue.    The paper was in my stash and I'm sorry but I don't know who it is made by.  I went with a bunch of little flowers made from a Recollections punch and then added some little pearls from Pizzazz APlenty.  The sentiment is by My Sentiments Exactly. For the center point on the card, I double punched a strip of matching blue with a SU punch and added a couple of pearls there too.  Hope you like it and, as always,  thanks so much for stopping by for a little visit.  See you again soon.

A very CAS Happy Birthday

I made a very simple  birthday card the other day that I thought I'd share with  you tonight.

I found this 12 x 12 paper with a ton of these flowers all over it, so I cut one out which is an effort for me because cutting is not my thing and I'm not very good at it.  Hubby says it's because I'm left handed, but I even have left handed scissors and that doesn't help me.  In any case, after cutting and placing just this one flower on the card, stamping a sentiment I felt like it was done. This card would be good for a lady that is not into super frilly things.  I have done a few cards with this tan gingham paper this week and  found it worked well for both girl and guy cards. That's all I have to offer tonight, hopefully I'll get to spend a couple more hours in my craft room tomorrow.   I love the beautiful weather we've been having this week, but then I'm always torn as to whether I should be inside or outside.   I wish you all a great night tonight and a fabulous day tomorrow.

MWT - Thank You

Good Day All, I'm trying to knock out some cards for my OWH box which I'm hoping to send real soon, therefore my cards have been mostly CAS style this week.  Today OWH is looking for Thank You cards, you can see the post here.  I just went with some paper I found this morning and then stamped one half of it with a Hero Arts Background stamp.  After stamping my sentiment I added a thin strip and a corner punch,  both of Cherry Cobbler, some rounded corners,  a little bit of piercing and I was done.
Gotta run, tons of things planned for today.  Thanks for taking a peek.  Can't wait to get to go blog visiting myself later on today.  See you soon .
