S & S Sketch #110

Well it's Sunday so another Sketch Challenge over at Stars and Stampshttp://www.owhstarsandstamps.org/2012/02/sketch-challenge-110.html.  Here is our sketch
And here is what I came up with.

My image is from DeeDee's and I colored it with Copics.  I used the Diamond Plate ef and the designer paper  is from my stash.  The card stock is from SU as are the gold brads.   Hope you are all having a great Sunday.  I'm just waiting for the Daytona 500 to get started, then I will be doing nothing for the rest of the day but watching TV.  I know it sounds very lazy, but you have to do that every now and then to recharge. This is the first card for my next OWH box.  I am shipping one out tomorrow with lots of Mother's Day cards in it, so now it's time to concentrate on those Dad's out there.   See you all again tomorrow.

OWH MWT

Wow another week has flown by, but we are back with a Mid Week Throw Down over at Stars and Stamps Blog.  I used a Hero Arts Mother's Day Stamp Set.  I just colored the flowers with my copics and added a few gems.  It does not show up in the photo but I embossed the background with a Paisley Impressabilities.  That's if for now, I'm going to try to get a bunch more Mother's Day cards finished today.

I want to say thank you to each and every one of you that take the time to stop by.  See you later.

S & S Sketch Challenge #109

Another Sunday another Sketch Challenge over at Stars and Stamps Blog.  I don't have an ounce of MoJo today so this was the only thing I could come up with.  It looked better in my head that it does IRL.  I have found that I LOVE this MB die so I cut out a whole sheet of it from some light green Parchment cs.  Then I  backed it with some blue cs.  I just stamp my sentiment onto a piece of parchment paper that I ran through the Big Shot with a Cuttlebug Heart ef. The heart is punched with a Creative Memories punch and the Love You is from SU.  I rounded two corners on all the layers of cs just to change it up a bit.   I'm hoping my MoJo will come home again real soon.  If it is heading your way, please turn it around and send it home.
Thanks for stopping by today and I hope you all enjoy the rest of your weekend.  See you soon.

OWH MWT & SNSDC40

Hi all, tonight I am posting a card that I did for Stars and Stamps Mid Week Throw Down.  This is a color challenge using the colors Blue, Green and Tan/Kraft.  I used a SNSS Images titled Let's Go Fishing Puppy. I colored him with Copics and cut him out with Nestabilities.  This little puppy wanted you to know he was a "star" but - the star is also there because it's covering up a little spot of ink I managed to get on there.  Anyway I used the plaid embossing folder and inked it up with both Peeled Paint and Broken China Distress Inks.  The strip is from a MS punch and the sentiment is from SU and cut out with SU punches.  I popped up the main image with dimensionals.

I'm also entering this into the Sweet N Sassy digi Challenge  (SNSDC40 - "Hat" off to you).
I'm wishing you all a very pleasant evening and I'll see you again soon.  Thanks for popping in.

HMFMC113 Makes Wishes Come True

Well I finally got a chance to get this card made and posted for the House Mouse & Friends Challenge.
I decided to go with Birthday Wishes so I picked the "Signing A Card"  image and colored it with  Copics.   I stamped the sentiment so that it would look like he was dotting the "i" with his pencil, but I moved it a hair when stamping so it did not come out exactly the way I was hoping it would.  I made the background using the Piestra Tile die from Memory Box and matted that onto a piece of SU's lavender lace cs.  I also used SU's Elegant Eggplant and Pink Parchment card stock.  I used a SU border punch and added some small pearls with a Viva Pearl Pen. The flowers are by Prima and I added some Glossy Accents to the white brads to brighten them up a little bit.  The leaves were made with a MS punch after I crimped the paper.  A few more pink and white pearls and it was complete.

I could not get a good picture of this card today no matter what I tried.  It really does look a lot  brighter and more cheery in real life.  Thank you so much for taking the time out of your day to stop by for a visit.  I'll see you again soon.

ISSC02

Well here it is Monday evening and I'm just getting to post this challenge for I Spy Sketches.  I was hoping to get this done over the weekend but that didn't happen.  Anyway I'm getting ready to send out a box of cards to Operation Write Home and I wanted another Any Hero card, so this is what I came up with for this challenge.  I used all SU papers and the Stars Nestabilities as well as the Pennnts Nestabilities My little hand made buttons are all popped up with dimensions.  The sentiment is from the Hero Art set by A Muse. I don't think it is visible but I embossed the blue card stock with a Sizzix striped  folder.

This sketch did not come easy to me.  I guess I'm kind of a square, circle or oval type girl, but I did the best I could.  I can only hope some hero likes it.    That will do it for me tonight.  I wish you all a great night and I'll see you soon.  Thanks for stopping by.

S & S Sketch Challenge #108

Back again with the weekly sketch challenge over at Stars and Stamps blog.  Here is the sketch we had to go by this week.

I started with the SU's Very Vanilla card stock and embossed it using  Spellbinder's Diamond and Stars Impressabilities.  Before I removed the card stock from the plate I sponged Broken China Distress Ink on it.  I've only used the Impressabilities a couple of times, but I'm liking them more and more.  Then I used a Cuttlebug Embossing Border for my flowers and added some blue gems and  gold edging.  My sentiment is from AMuse and I just broke it up on to the two strips and embossed it in gold.  More gold edging.
It seemed to take me hours to come up with this card, so I think that's going to do it for me this week.  I'm going to have a bit of supper and sit down to do nothing for the rest of the night.  Thank you to all of you who visited my blog during our VCMP and especially those of you who visit on a regular basis. All of your wonderful comments really make my days.   Have a good evening and I'll see you tomorrow if I can find my MoJo.

VCMPChallenge #11 Rainforest

Well here is my card for the Rainforest Challenge. You have to forgive me, I seem to be posting out of order here.    I used a paper from the Basic Grey Picadilly pack and I just dotted small circles using a small dauber with Garden Green ink by SU.  I used a MS punch and then added the cut outs from the punch in the center of my circles.  The sentiment is a favorite of mine that is by Stampabilities.

I think I'm caught up with all the challenges. Thank you so much for stopping by.  I'm off to do more commenting myself.  I don't want to miss anyone.  You never can tell, I might be back but for now, Good Night.

VCMP Challenge #13 Embossing

OK they don't come much more CAS than this card I made for Mother's Day and it also meets the requirements for Challenge #13 Over at OWH's VCMP.

I just took my card base and embossed it with a Cuttlebug Heart folder. I punched both sides of a strip of paper with a MS border punch. I stamped my sentiment onto some retired SU designer paper. I used my new Corner Chomper on two of the corners. That was it for this one. I think I'll make a few of these for my next box which I should be able to get out this week.

VCMP Boats and Ships

Hi Everyone, I'm a little late posting this one.  I was extremely honored that Paula had asked me to make a sample card for this Boats and Ships challenge today.  Here is what I came up with.

I used a SU stamp titled Sail Away for this card. I embossed both the image and sentiment in white on SU's Night Of Navy card stock.  I made a frame out of the labels Nine Nestabilities and edged it with my trusty Krylon Gold Pen.  It doesn't look it, but the frame and the paper are made with  light blue Parchment card stock.  It photographed as white.  I embossed the background paper with SU's Lattice embossing folder.  I added 4 gold eyelets to go along with the gold edging.   So there you have it from me for this challenge.  Hope you are all enjoying these challenges.  I know I am.
See you again soon with another challenge.

VCMP Challenge #10 Vintage

I'm back as promised with my version of a vintage card for the challenge over at Operation Write Home's Stars and Stamp Blog.  The background paper is from My Mind's Eye -  Lost and Found 6 x 6 packet.   Because it had a vintage look to it and already had the word Love on it, I figured I'd let the paper dictate the rest of my card for me.    So I dug out an image from Beccy's Place that I just love and instead of coloring it I just sponged Vintage Photo distress Ink around the image.   I embossed the photo corner punches with the SU Lattice Embossing folder. I added some SU ribbon and a little heart charm that I was lucky enough to win.  So that's it for my Vintage type card.  I really wish this style came naturally to me. The older I get the more I love it.

I think we have more challenges coming up so I'll see you all again tonight.  Again, thanks for taking the time to stop by.  I means a lot to me.

VCMP Challenge #9 Cut It Out

A very quick post this morning.  This card was made using a House Mouse stamp titled Love Bunny
and I colored it with my Copics.  The die cut I used was a Memory Box Die and I just ran a piece of SU ribbon through it.  The dp is retired from SU.  My sentiment is from SNSS and I added a couple of black gems and I was done.    This one was quite easy.

I'll be back later with the vintage Challenge, which will be a BIG challenge for me as I don't do vintage very well at all even thought I absolutely love it.  Thanks for stopping by.  I love company.

OWH VCMP Challenges

Good Friday Afternoon.  Today I made cards for two of the challenges over at Operation Write Home's Virtual Card Making Party.  I worked on cards for challenges #7 & #8 which are CAS (Clean and Simple) and Jungle Animals kids cards. This technique for this first card came from Gina K this morning on Stamp TV.   From her lips to my hands.  I used Peeled Paint Distress Ink and then stamped my flower image, which is from Outlines, along the inked area.  I then colored them with Copic Markers.  If you use the Gina K Designs Heavy Weight Pure Luxury card stock the Copics do not bleed through to the other side, which is great if you are looking to make a one layer card.  My sentiment is from Sutdio G and I was lucky enough to pick it up for $1.  The ribbon is from SU.

My next card is for the Jungle Animal Challenge (kids cards).  My focal image, which I colored with Copics, and the background images are all from a Recollections set titled Z00-Licious.  The sentiment is another Sudio G stamp and the embossing folder is from Cuttlebug.

Now I've got to see if I can make the Funky Fold card for Challenge #3.  In looking at it I feel like it might be intimidating, but I'm going to give it a try.  Be back later.  Thanks for taking the time to stop by.  I love to hear from all of you.

OWH VCMP & C4C36

Back again.  This card was made for two challenges.  I love when that happens.  This is for the  Sand & Sea  Challenge over at Stars & Stamps blog where we have to use blue and tan on our cards. The Crazy 4 Cocoa Challenge asked us to make a card using three gems.

I used a digital image from SNSS titled Cocoa & Cookie's Sand Castle and I colored it with Copic markers.  My sentiment came from the $1 bin at AC Moore.  Crazy 4 Cocoa Challenge asked for three gems, but I ended up with six.  I hope that is all right.  This also qualifies for the OWH VCMP because I used blue and tan in my card.  I think this will do it for me for tonight.  I'll be back tomorrow with more challenge cards.  Goodnight all and thank you again for stopping by.

OWV VCMP Challenges

I've been MIA for a few days.  I'm sorry about that.  This week has been a super strange one so here I am tonight trying to play catch up with all of Operation Write Home's Challenges.

This first card is for the "Beachy Thinking Of You Card" Challenge.  I used a SNSS digi image and colored it with Copics.  I cut is out with Nestabilities and I used a Cuttlebug bubble embossing folder.

I think this one is my favorite for the day.  This card is for the Hot Tropics Challenge.  We were asked to use Hot Pink, Green and Yellow.  I made my flower out of all three of those colors and the I matted that onto two Spellbinders Lotus Pendants Shapeabilities. I just offset the white one on top of the black one.   I don't know who the dp is by, I'm sorry, I think it might be Basic Grey.  The Sentiment is from Hero Arts.

This card is for the Masculine Nautical Challenge.  My image is a stamp I've had for years and it has no company name on it.  The anchor in the corner is actually cut out of the dp that I used for my background.  Thie image is so large in itself that I decided not to try to add a sentiment.

This card is for the  "It's A Party" Challenge.  I used a long since retired SU image and colored him with my Copics.  I paper pieced the balloon with the same designer paper as the background.  The bow is made with Ribbon from Michaels.  I decided I liked the look of the corner punches a little bit away from the edge of the paper on this particular card.

Well that's it for this batch of challenge.  I haven't tried the funky fold challenge yet, but I will attemp that one tomorrow.
I hope you are all having a good week.  See you tomorrow and thanks so much for stopping by.

I will be back later on in the evening to make my rounds and comment on all of the beautiful cards that I got a quick glimpse of.  Right now I've got to get a bite to eat.  I'm starving.

S & S Sketch Challenge #107

Good Sunday Morning. Time for another Sketch Challenge over at Stars and Stamps blog. I have been making a love of "girly" type cards this week, so I thought I'd make today's card a masculine one, although it could still be used for the ladies, I guess. I started by stamping my Hero Arts sentiment in versamark and then embossing it with Black ep. I used a Cuttlebug embossing folder for a little punch on my Night of Navy card stock. I decided to go with a SU punched strip and a heart brad instead of the ribbon and bow. My papers are from an older DCWV Winter Pack. As you can see I matted everything with Whisper White. I'm kind of pleased with how it turned out and I hope the recipient will be also. I'm off to try to get some Mother's Days cards made to go into my next OWH box. In case you haven't done so yet, you might want to head over to my post here to sign up for some Blog Candy. I reached 100 wonderful followers, that I do appreciate so much, and I wanted to give something away in honor of that milestone. The more names the merrier!. Have a wonderful day.

CAS Card

I'm back again. I wanted to post a CAS card on the Operation Write Home blog to go along with the CAS Blog Skip. Jennifer McQuire has is so graciously offered several FREE on line CAS classes for those of us who enter a card in here or on OWH's Facebook page. Unfortunely I was not able to take her on-line class so I am really hoping my name gets picked. My fingers are crossed. I tend to make a lot of CAS type cards, but there is SO MUCH more I need to learn yet. For my card here I just used some retired SU pink paper and stamped my Inkadinkado sentiment right on to the designer paper. I added three Prima flowers and the leaves were punched from a MS punch. For some odd reason I went with just one Corner punch. It just looked better to me than using two of them. Well I'm back to the drawing table, as it were. I am trying very hard to finish up my next OWH box this weekend. Enjoy the rest of your weekend.

ODBD February Challenge & SNSDC39

WOW ! One card qualifies for two challenges, this almost never happens to me. But I'm glad it did today. ODBD is offering it's monthly challenge over at Operations Write Home's Stars and Stamps Blog and our challenge is to use Yummy Ribbon. ODBD will sponsor one large box of cards for every 25 cards linked to the challenge post, with a maximum of 2 boxes per month. So be sure to tell all your friends to come and enter the challenge too! Our Sweet N Sassy Digi Challenge this week is to make a Valentine's Card. I've managed to to both with one card.

Recipe:

Digi Image: SNSS - Cupid Rhubarb Colored with Copics

iSpy Sketches ISSC01

Good Friday Afternoon. Well this morning I learned of a brand new challenge titled iSpy Sketches. Today was their first challenge and it looks like it is going to be a fun weekly challenge. I am thrilled to be amongst the first week's participants. If you get a chance you should stop by and see all of the fabulously talented ladies (known as Secret Agents) that are involved with this challenge blog and their beautiful creations for today. My adorable little image today is a freebee from Sliekje's digi stamps and I colored it with my Copics. I cut it out, and matted it with the Labels Ten Nestabilities. I also edged the inside of the die with a black Multiliner before removing my image from the die. The designer paper is one from a pack that I was lucky enough to win this past fall. I scored the Lavender Lace card stock with my Score Pal and used a SU border punch along the bottom. The strip is made from a MS punch and backed up with white card stock. My three elements are some flower brads that I just picked up last week at my LSS's yard sale. I then added some pearls as flower centers using the Viva Pearl Pen. I think I met the requirements for this challenge and I am looking forward to viewing the other submissions.

I want to wish all the Kim Teasdale and all of her Secret Agents the very best of luck with this new endeavour. I'm already looking forward to the next challenge.

Thanks so much for taking a minute to stop by today. I truly appreciate it. Don't forget to scroll down to check out the post below this one and sign up for some blog candy. I reached 100 followers YAY! See you again soon.

C4C35

Good Thursday morning all. My card for today is for the Crazy 4 Cocoa Challenge found here. We were challenged to use Stars on our cards. I decided to make an Any Hero card for my next Operation Write Home box. I used the Patriotic Cocoa from SNSS. I colored him with Copics andcut him out using Star Nestabilities. As you can see I also used other sized stars on my card. The Sentiment and the Oval punches are from SU. I used a Star Embossing Folder for my background. I lightly brushed the folder with White ink before embossing to give it a very slight sheen. You can see it in person, but not in this photo. I hope you all have a great day and I'll see you again soon.

S & S MidWeek Throw Down

Today's MWTD over at Stars & Stamps is to use die cuts or punches on our cards. I did both. My designer papers are retired packs from SU. The bird/branch punch is also from SU. The vine is a new Memory Box Die that I picked up last week. I'm in love with it and I can really a see good use for in on scrapbook pages also. I added a little black gem for the bird's eye and I was done. I made these this morning and think I may do some more with different sentiments as I found them rather easy to assemble. Thanks for taking a minute out of your day to spend here with me. I really appreciate it. See you again later.
