HMFMC #136

New Beginnings is the theme for this week's House Mouse & Friends Monday Challenge.  I just got this shipment of new stamps in a few days ago and this image titled Anybody Home was in the package.  I just think this one is adorable, so I had to ink it up and color it up quickly with my
Copics tonight.
In trying to keep with a promise to use up older pieces of paper, I found this  Note Top die that I cut out a couple of years ago.  Ran my white gel pen around the outside edges and I had a backdrop for the image panel which was cut out from a  SB Scalloped rectangle die.  I made a flat bow and added a sentiment from SU.  The Background panel is embossed with a SB M-Bossabilities folder. This is really it for me tonight.  It's time to get to bed.  Very early morning tomorrow.  See you soon, I hope.  Thanks for the visit.

MWT - Show Us Your Green

Hi Everyone, Just a quickie tonight.  For our midweek throw down over at Stars and Stamps this week they are asking for cards with green on them.  Here is a quick card I came up with.
The Sentiment is from SU (retired) and I stamped on some retired SU designer paper and embossed in black.  The frame is a SB Labels Nine.  The ric rac was made with an EK Success punch and the gems are from Pizzazz A Plenty.  The textured paper is from my stash so I'm sorry but I don't know who it is by, maybe Bazzill.    Something has come up and the next two week will be very busy for me so please forgive me if I don't get to everyone blogs to comment.  I will do my best, I promise.  I am also trying to find the time to make a couple of CAS style cards but I'm not sure how well I will do with that either.  I do appreciate every one of you that stop by to say Hi.  See you later on in the week.

S & S Sketch Challenge #155

Hello everyone, Today is an posting a card I made for the S & S Sketch Challenge #155.

If you look at the sketch you will notice that it calls for an oval in the center of the card.  I chose to just emboss the oval without actually using an additional piece of paper.  When I tried to take my photo of it I noticed that you could not see it at all, so then I went back and drew a line around the inside of the embossed oval to help bring it out a bit.  The image is by Serendipty Stamps and I've had it for about 5 years now, but always forget to pull it out.  I'm glad I did today because it fits nicely into the oval shape.  The colored card stock is Elegant Eggplant by SU as is the sentiment. That will about do it for me today.  See you again soon and, as always, I very much appreciate your company.

Mid Week Throw Down

The Operation Write Home's Mid Week Throw Down this week is to make a card with no sentiment on it. Here is my entry:
The stamp is by SU and I colored it with SU markers before stamping.  It is cut out with a SB die and I traced around the inside of the die with a Multiliner pen before I removed the image from the die.  The back panel is embossed with a Cuttlebug Swiss Dot folder.  Brads and a flower from Recollections finished this card off.  The flower is there to hide a boo boo.  Thanks so much for stopping by.  See you again soon.

OWH & ODBD Challenges

Good Monday Morning everyone.  I have two cards to share with you today, neither of which I am totally crazy about but here we go anyway.  The first card is for the S & S Sketch Challenge #154 seen here.  I have no idea why I went with these colors.  They look like fall colors and we are into spring cards now.  I think I just liked the paper of which I have no idea who made it.  It is double sided and I used both sides.  The sentiment is by SU and the embossing is by Darice and was a gift to me.
This next card is for the January ODBD designs found here.  This month they are asking us to use some dry embossing.  ODBD will pay for one box of shipping of our OWH cards for every 25 people that enter, so please consider helping out by making a card and posting it on the OWH site.
I used SU's Perfect Plum and Basic Grey as well as a SU fancy scallop punch on this one.  The Perfect Plum looks much prettier IRL.  ( I really should take a photography lesson).   The image is by Lockhart Stamp Co. and I colored it with Copics.    I wish you all a fabulous week ahead.  Thanks so much for taking time out of your day to stop by.  Company and comments are always greatly appreciated.

OWH- Mid Week Throw Down

Good Thursday morning to all.  My card today is for  the Operation Write Home's Mid Week Throw Down.  They have asked that we make a card with Spring Flowers on it.  Here is my entry.
The tulips are a SNSS digital image that I colored with Copics.  It it punched out with a SU punch and matted on a SB circle die. I then placed all of that onto a Cherry Lynn Die.  I cut out the die three times in three different colors and then added back in some of the green and white cut outs here and there. The background paper is so pretty it seemed a shame to cover most of it up.  It came in a pack of paper I picked up at The Christmas Tree Shop a while ago. I added two of the cut outs in the corners with little rhinestones in the middle of them.  My last step was to mat it all on both Old Olive Green and Elegant Eggplant (both from SU) which I cut with my wavy cutter.   I decided not to add a sentiment on this card because I felt it could be used for a number of different occasions and I didn't want to limit it's use.
Thank you so much for stopping by to say Hi.   Having company is a great way to start off the New Year.    See you soon.
