Merry Monday Challenge #30

Back again with my second post of the day.  I'm entering this card into the Merry Monday Challenge.
Here is what I came up with.
My designer paper is from a pack that I purchased last year and I can't find it this year.  It does NOT pay to organize because then I can't find a thing.    This was a scrap piece I had in a box.  I just love this paper but now I don't know who made it.   The sentiment and the holly/berries are from SU (retired I think).  I colored the holly/berries with my SU markers before I stamped it.  I cut the image piece out with a square SB die and ran a gold gel pen around the inside edge before removing he card stock from the die. I dotted red and green markers randomly around the sentiment.  The white ribbon is from SU and the red ribbon I got at JoAnn's last year.    Hope you enjoy.  Thanks for taking the time to stop by again today.  See you tomorrow.

OWH Midweek Throw Down Challenge

Wednesdays = Mid Week Throw Down Challenge over at OWH's Star and Stamps Blog.  This week they have challenged us to make masculine cards for our heroes to send home to family and friends.
My MoJo is missing and my coloring is equal to that of a first grade student this week, but I gave it a try anyway.

I started with Very Vanilla as my card base.  My card stock is all from SU.  I ran the grey and black pieces through my Big Shot with a Cuttlebug Diamond Plate embossing folder.  I stamped my image, which is from a SU set titled "Totally Tool",  in Momento Black ink on Kraft card stock and then colored it with my Copic markers.   I added a few silver adhesive dots from Colorbok for a finishing touch.  Missing MoJo or not, I'm heading back to the craft table to try to create some more cards.  Wish me luck please.   As always, thanks so much for stopping by to say Hello.

Shopping Our Stash #66

Hi Everyone, I have been wanting to play along with the challenges at Shopping Our Stash for quite a while now but life seems to keep getting in my way.  So today is my day to start.  For this week's challenge they have asked us to use our favorite things on our cards.  So that is exactly what I did.
I started with a Whisper White card base and then added some plaid paper that I purchased at The Christmas Tree Shop last year.
My Favorites things are:
This green striped paper (I'm not sure who it is by)
Scallop Shaped Items
The Wavy Edge Trimmer
Matting with black card stock
The green paper had the negative of a scallop circle in it that I had previously punched from it so I started there. I matted it with black card stock, then stamped my greeting in Versa Mark and embossed it with Detail White embossing powder.  I picked out the green and purple glittered flowers (another favorite which I tend to hoard) and arranged then to form more scallops.  I then added a white paper flower with a green felt center topping that off with a silver brad.    So I think my card meets the requirements for this week.
I enjoyed making this card even though I hated using that last scrap of this green striped paper.   Well I just hope some recipient will like it as much as I do.      Hopefully I will be able to start playing along with SOS every week now.  Thank you so much for stopping by and I'll see you again soon.

HMFMC - #127 Back To School/At The Office

Good Monday Morning Everyone.  Today is my last day as a Guest Designer for August over at House Mouse and Friends Monday Challenge.  I was lucky enough to have joined the regular design team for two months in a row.  I truly enjoyed this honor for these past two months.  This week we were asked to use a "back to school" or "at the office" theme for our cards.

As you can see I went with Back To School theme using a House Mouse stamp titled "Taking Notes".  I colored it with Copic markers and added "rub on" alphabet letters on the notebook page. I used my wavy paper trimmer for the edges of the image piece and matted it with Basic Black card stock.   I took a copy of my little 6 inch ruler and then reduced that for an added embellishment.  The letters were stamped with an old SU alphabet set then punched out with a circle punch and matted with all different colored 1/2 circles.  I punched out two different pieces of card stock with the EK success zig zag punch and put them together.  A few gold stars were my finishing touches.  I had a lot of fun making this card for this challenge.  Hope you all join us for this challenge.   We'll be looking forward to see what everyone comes up with.  Enjoy your day and thank you so much for stopping by.

Pillow Top Background

Good Friday Evening Everyone,  I'm here tonight because I tried a technique that I found over at Gina K Designs titled Pillow Top Background found here.

I think I need some more practice because it doesn't look uniform to me, but I am still kind of pleased with it for my first attempt.  I used SU's Lavender Lace for my background color and then I stamped the flower from the set titled "Stately Flowers" which is also from Gina K and my sentiment from CC Ruber Stamp Co.,  in black.  I used  SU's Elegant Eggplant for my card base and matting on the image piece.  I just popped on a few pearls and I was done.  Gina had mentioned in one of her videos that she thought these flowers from this set were nice enough to stand on there own without color and tend I agree with her.  I have colored them in the past, but I really like them just stamped in black.  Well that's it for me tonight.
Thank you for stopping by and I hope to see you again real soon.

OWH Mid Week Throw Down

Good Thursday Morning.  This week at Stars and Stamps Mid Week Throw Down they challenged us to make a card using designer paper along with dies.  I did that plus a punch to top it off.  LOL
I quickly colored up this adorable House Mouse image titled "Air Head" with my Copics and then used the SB Postage Stamp and Square dies to cut it out and mount it. I ran my black Multiliner around the inside of the Postage Stamp  Die before I removed it from the image.   The designer paper was one that I got in a package of papers that I picked up up at The Christmas Tree Shop last year.  The sentiment is also from House Mouse (Stampabilities) which goes perfect with this image.  That will do it for me today.  Thanks once again for stopping by to say Hi.

S & S Sketch Challenge #134

Good Sunday Afternoon,  I'm back home after a two week stint in California and I'm hoping to get back on schedule with card making.  I'm starting with this week's sketch challenge over at
Stars & Stamp Blog.  Below is our sketch   .  .  .

.  .  .  And here is what I came up with.
I started with a SU Very Vanilla card base.  My next layer is made with green parchment card stock and then I embossed my two strips with SB "So Trendy" MBossibilites and the Cuttlebug's "Swiss Dot" folder.  My sentiment is by CC Rubber Stamp Company and seems to be my Birthday go to stamp.  I added a little sunflower charm that I received as part of my winnings from a recent House Mouse Challenge.  I used two different twines to make a bow.  My final touch was a flower I put together using two layers of  artificial flowers and a back layer using a  punched flower with  bronze brad.  That will do it for me, but hopefully I'll be back again tomorrow.  I'm going to try real hard to become more regular with my postings.  Thanks for taking time out of your busy day to  stop by and say Hi.  I truly appreciate the company.

HMFMC #126Ddouble Trouble

I'm still away from home so just a short post today.  House Mouse and Friends Monday Challenge  this week  is  Double Trouble.  I picked these two adorable bunnies for my card.
I am sorry but not being home I forgot the name of this image and can't look it up.  Anyway I colored them with Copics and then added some Glossy Accents and Dazzling Diamonds to help make them pop a bit.  My sentiment is also from Stampabilities.  The flowers are made with punches and I added Viva Pearl Pen drops to the centers and a white brad to the larger flower.  The paper is from SU long since retired.  Hate to post and run, but I'm very busy caring still for my cousin.     Thanks so much for taking the time to stop by.

Sharing In Your Sorrow

Hi everyone, I'm away from home again so I've not been too good about blogging, but I wanted to share this card I made last week for a dear friend of mine.  She lost her brother but that was a blessing for him.  For some reason I did not want to use Sympathy as my sentiment so I went with this SU sentiment Sharing In You Sorrow. I'm sorry but I cannot even think of the name of the set this came from.
This card ended up to be a 5 x 5 card and I just colored the stamp with SU markers and went with my trusty Gold Leaf Pen to outline the top portion of the card and then I scored 4 lines alone the bottom to finish it off.  I'm rather happy with how it turned out and hope you enjoy viewing it.  I don't think I will get to post again for a while, till I get back home and I don't know when that will be.  I'll try to keep up with following all of your blogs though.  Forgive me if my comments are sporadic and short.
