Happy 90th Birthday

I'd thought I'd share a card with you that I made for a dear 90 year old lady.  She is the mother of a very good friend of mine and I've known her for years.
Oh I just noticed that the small heart on the right hand side is crooked.  I'll be sure to fix that as soon as I finish this post.  I used Soft Sky, Whisper White and the sentiment stamp all from SU!.  The flourish from Cherry Lynn (which I cut in half to make larger) and the flowers from a punch I've had for years and I have no idea who it is by, while the heart punch is by MS.   I ran a gold Sharpie pen around the SB dies just to make them stand out a bit more.  I also embossed the white panel with a Cuttlebug Heart folder.
This lady is still (at 90) playing Mrs. Claus, Mother Goose and does face painting for children at all sorts of different events.  She is a remarkable person and it doesn't look like she is going to retire any time soon.  I wish I had half of her energy.   That will have to do it for me for a couple of days. Thank you very much for stopping by.

Deedee's DOM Challenge

Happy Tuesday All,  I'm here today to share a card I made for Deedee Anderson's Digi of the month challenge found here.  This is a precious set titled Polar Peace and has darling images and wonderful sentiments.
I used the pre-colored image and just added a few scattered dots around the image.  It is cut out with SB dies and the sentiment was just made with a hand cut banner.  I used a Snowflake embossing folder.  This seems to be a very busy couple of weeks for me so this set came in very handy to be able to use a pre-colored image to cut my card making time in half.  If you haven't stopped by Deedee's please head on over there and join us in the fun.  If you played along last month you've already received this set in your email, if not you can purchase it at a very low price and then you will get next month's set free of charge.  I do wish you all a wonderful day and I hope to be able to get back to visiting and commenting on a regular basis very soon. See ya soon.

Happy Anniversary

I wanted to make a card for my ex-bosses for their Anniversary which is this week.  I dug into some old SU! stamps and came up with this card.

The flower is from the retired set titled Embrace Life and was colored with Copics, trying to match the retired papers.  I began by stamping the En-Francis background stamp first after masking off the area for the flower.  Then I stamped the flower and colored it, adding a few dots with a White Shapie  for the stamens.  My final step was to add a couple of sequins and cut it out with SB dies.  I decided not to put a sentiment on the card front because I hand wrote a message on the inside.  Thanks so much for stopping by.  Wishing you all a great day.

Home Sweet Home

I'm sorry I've been MIA for a while but I've been busy getting an apartment ready for a young ex co-worker move into.  Also we are experiencing close to freezing temps this morning and they say it will freeze by tomorrow morning so we have been busy taking things in and preparing everything on the outside for this weather.   Well anyway here is my card for my little, sweet co-worker.

I used a pre-colored image from Deedee Anderson's set titled "Home Tweet Home" and the sentiment is by her set titled "Home Sweet Home".  The heart border is by MS punch and the paper is from my stash. The mats are Garden Green by SU!.  Well that is it for  me this morning.  Wishing you all a warm, pleasant Sunday.

Thank You

Happy Thursday Everyone.  I have been quite busy away from the house this week and haven't got into my craft room too much at all, but I did manage to sneak a few minutes in here this afternoon because I really needed to make a Thank You card.
I started this one by rubbing  yellow and pink Distress Inks onto my craft sheet and spritzing water on them and then placing my white panel down on them.  Then I decided to add some dots with an older Outlines Rubber Stamp with a light brown ink.  I stamped the Hero Arts sentiment in black and cut everything out with SB dies.  I added a flat white bow onto the oval.  I used some retired SU! paper and embossed the pink and designer paper with a Swiss Dot folder.  That's about it for me today.  Thanks for stopping by.  Enjoy the evening.

WCMD

Good Saturday Morning All.  I'd like to share a card I made for World Card Making Day.  Deedee's Digi's is having a great Tic-Tac- Toe game to celebrate the day.   She has some great prizes you could win and a chance to win a Guest Design Team spot on our team so how about if you hop on over there.  Here is my card.

I used row 5 Across on the Tic-Tac-Toe card (which you will find at Deedee's Digi site) which is to " Use Autumn Colors, Make a card and send it to a friend that needs encouragement and Use a Button.  My image is from Deedee's "Sunshine and Sunflower set".  This is a terrific set for autumn cards or scrapbook pages. I used the pre-colored image and just added some dots for my background and sponged the edges.  The sentiment is also from the same set.  I had my background paper and button in my stash. I added the black gems and green twine also from my stash and I was done.  I wish I had as much luck with my gardens as this little cutie does.  Those are some nice big sunflowers.  I'd like to wish you all a fun Saturday and thank you for your visit today.

W2SB Fight Like A Girl

I can't believe that W2SB's challenge this month is  Fight Like A Girl.    I just made this card a couple of night's ago for a friend of mine who, next week, will be celebrating her two year anniversary being free of breast cancer.  I hadn't got around to taking a photo of it yet, so tonight I immediately did.

I got this set titled "Passionately Pink by DeeDee Anderson a long time ago and made a card for my friend reminding her to "fight" and she will get the Survivor card on her anniversary. This is an amazing set by Deedee with the best images and wonderful sentiments to go along with them.

This is a fantastic challenge to take part in and I love the idea the girls at W2SB had, if you don't know anyone that needs one of these card now, give a card to an Oncology Center near you and have them give it to their newest patient.  It is so important to let these women know we are thinking of them.  I have gotten away from card making a bit because I got involved in making hats for chemo patients and I just love spending most of my spare time loom knitting hats. The women tell me they especially love the "sleep  caps" to keep their heads warms at night.  I think anyway anyone can help is wonderful.
Penny Ward, Congrats on your one year anniversary.  Consider this card for you also.
Thanks for stopping by and I encourage to play along this month at W2SB.

Deedee's October Challenge

Hi All, I'm here today with my card that I made using Deedee Anderson's Digi Of The Month Set titled "Pumpkin Patch". As with all of Deedee's sets, this one has tons of possibilities.  If you played along with last month's challenge you have already received this set via email.  If not you can purchase it at a very low price ( just $1.25) and then you will receive next month's set completely free.  Can't beat that!  You have almost an entire month to play along but why put off tomorrow what you can do today.

I used the pre- colored set and added a few of my own coloring touches and sponged in a sky with SU! Bashful Blue.  The background paper was in my stash and then I added the Brickyard punch in black backed up with a piece of white paper that I colored with the same color I used to enhance the pumpkins.  I have to enhance most pre-colored images because of my finicky printer.  I matted everything with black and I was done.  Thanks for stopping by.  Hope to see you again soon.  I am trying hard to get more card making time in.

CAS Birthday

Someone asked me to make them a VERY clean and simple card so I thought I'd share it with you today.  I have to confess I haven't been making that many cards lately, but I did have fun when I sat down to color this one with my Copics.  I guess coloring is an addiction that never goes away.
The image is by SNSS and both the sentiments are by Gina K Designs.  The person requesting this card did not want any embellishments at all, so here is what we ended up with.  Hope you are all having a great day.  We here in the Northeast are getting tons of rain with possibility of floods in low lying areas.  It's days like this that I am so glad that our house sits way up on a hill.   Thanks a bunch for popping in for a short visit.  Company is always very much appreciated.

Penguin Christmas

I'd like to share another Christmas card I made using one of Deedee Anderson's Christmas Cuties set.
He just makes me smile as does all of the cuties in this set.

I used the pre-colored version of this image, sponged with SU! Bashful Blue ink and cut it out with SB dies.  I used a Creative Memories heart punch and added a Recollection's snowflake. I popped up the heart.  The sentiment is by Craftsmart.  The paper was in my stash but I believe it is from SU! Thanks for your visit today, have a wonderful day.

Merry Christmas & Thank You

I'd like to share a Christmas card I made with one of Deedee Anderson's images from her set titled "Christmas Cuties". As usual this set comes with line drawings or pre-colored image.  I am starting to get nervous about getting holiday cards made to donate so I'm going with the pre-colored version to help save me time.
This little guy just melts my heart.  I printed him out and then stamped the sentiment on the tag, added a red jeweled brad and cut him out with SB dies.  I did add a red line around the die before cutting it out.  I punched a MS hear border in red and again in white and inserted the white hearts in the red outlines.  The paper, which I love, was in my stash and I could not tell you who it is by. SU! Red Red and Garden Green were my card stock choices for this one.  Thanks a bunch for your visit.  I do hope you have a fine day planned.  Today we are heading up to the 90's again.  What happened to Autumn? I know it is not really Autumn yet, but around here we are usually experiencing Fall Like weather by this time of year.    I usually decorate the house with Autumn decor on Labor Day weekend, but it was just too hot to do that this year.  So no decorating for me yet.

PS: Thank you to all of you who answered my call for help with Baby Shower ideas.  I have gone on Pinterest and got many ideas.  Things are looking good so far for the adoptive couple so I may be putting together a shower probably by the end of this week.  Keep your fingers crossed for them please.  And for me, that I can pull this off.  LOL

Hello

I've been watching some of Jennifer McQuire's videos lately and working with perfect Pearls and this was the first of many cards I made last week in this same style as I really liked it.   I believe Jennifer calls this her Faux Textured Metal Technique.    I used copper Perfect Pearls on the center spot and had some SU! copper card stock for the back panel.
I used an older, but one of my favorite "go to", Hello stamps by Hero Arts and punched it out with SU! circle and scallop punches.  On this particular card I went with the SU! Fancy Fan embossing folder.  I made several of these cards with all different embossing folders and sentiments on them so I could have some back up cards in my stash for those times when I just need a quick card.  Somehow I let my stash get down to almost nothing so it was time to restock.  Thanks for taking a peek here today and I wish you all a great day.

HELP - I NEED SUGGESTIONS

Hi all,

I need help from all you talented ladies I have out there.  Someone I know MAY be adopting a child that was abandoned at a hospital.  They may know maybe by Wednesday and if this works out and if so they will probably be able to bring her home within two weeks.  If it comes to fruition I am going to have a small very quickly put together baby shower probably the end of this week.  I need suggestions on a very fast easy shower favor.  There hasn't been any babies born in our family in 21 years so I'm not familiar with shower favor ideas.  Hoping that some of you out there are and can give me some ideas.  Please!!!!!  I'm open to anything as long as I can make them up fast.  Thanks for stopping by and for your suggestions and ideas.  Hope you have a great evening and if you have the day off tomorrow for Labor Day, hope you have something fun planned.  I have no plans other than to relax and eat something good.

Birthday Circles

I wanted to share a card that I recently made using Perfect Pearls.  This is the first time I've used them on colored paper and then stamped over them.  I was watching a Jennifer McQuire video the other day and she was working with Perfect Pearls.  She actually did the "kissing" technique but I could not seem to get a good result with that so I just stamped with black ink. I matted my Garden Green circles onto a striped embossed folder and then backed it all up with Elegant Eggplant card stock by SU!  I added some gems from Pizzazz APlenty.  This is a different type card for me, but I am trying to expand my horizons.

By now you are all aware that photography is not my strong suit and I took sever shots of this card but, for the life of me, I could not get a picture that showed the pretty shiny look of the Pearls.  In this and all the other pictures it just looks dirty, but I assure you it looks better in real life.  Well off to do some walking (on a machine in my basement) because there was already 83% humidity at 5:30AM today.  No outdoor activity for me today that's for sure.  They say we will have a nice cool weekend.  I hope they are right.   Hope you all have a fun weekend.

Hello

I'd like to share a card I quickly whipped up this morning.  This is more like the cards I used to make before I discovered Copics.
I masked off the center of a piece of white card stock and sponged SU! Bashful Blue ink on it.  Then I just stamped an image from an older SU! set titled Echoes of Kindness in black ink.  The sentiment is by Hero Arts and I decided not to do any coloring at all.  My larger panel is also just a piece of white paper that I sponged all around the edges with ink.  I embossed the smaller panel with a Swiss Dot folder and used the Basket Weave folder for the larger panel.  I matted everything with black card stock and I was done.   Thanks for stopping in today and I'll see you soon.

Home Sweet Home

Our youngest just moved into a new apartment so I thought I'd make her a card for the occasion.  I went right to my batch of images by Deedee Anderson and grabbed an image from her Home Sweet Home set along with the sentiment and went to work on this card.
I used the pre-colored version but added a little bits of color on the bricks just so it had my own touch to it.  I added her new house number with stickers found some red gems that reminded me of reflective spots on some roads.  The paper was from my stash and I used a border punch by SU! cutting on both sides of the strip.  That will do it for me today, Thanks for popping in for a visit with me.  I always appreciate the company.  See you soon.

Thinking Of You

Good Morning All.  My granddaughter will be starting two new jobs soon and I know she will be terrific at both, but she is a little nervous about it so I  just wanted her to know I am thinking about her while she is in training and to let her know I have all the confidence in the world in her.   She actually gave me this darling HM image so I thought it would be great to use it on her card today.
I found this piece of fabric type paper in my stash so I started there and decided to color the flowers to match the paper.  The image is cut out with SB square and scalloped dies and as you can see I added some gems from Pizzazz APlenty to dot the two "i's" and added three more along the side. They matched the pink in the paper perfectly.   I chopped the corners with a corner treatment punch from SU! and I was done.     Well thanks a bunch for your visit today and I hope to be back soon.  I am trying real hard to get myself back into a card making routine but for some reason things keep getting in my way.

Autumn Greetings

Hi, I've decided I'd better get going on autumn and holiday cards. I'm quite late but hoping I can play a little catch up in the next few weeks.
I used a Gina K image and colored it with Copics and then went over parts of it with my Prisma Color Pencils.  The sky is done with Bashful Blue ink and the sentiment stamp is one I received in a gift package and there was no manufacturer's name on the stamps so I'm sorry I cannot tell you who it is by.  The polka dot paper is from my scrapbook calendar and then I used a basket weave embossing folder on my orange panel.  That is all I have for today.  Hope it is cooling down a bit for everyone out there.   Thanks for popping in for a visit. See you soon.

Happy Birthday for Hubby

Good Wednesday Morning.  I'm here with a quick post of a simple card I made for Hubby's birthday.  Let me first tell you that two of his favorite things in this world are cheeseburgers and ice cream so I thought this image was just perfect.
This is a House Mouse image (Happy Hoppers) and sentiment. I colored it up with Copics and sponged around the image with SU! Certain Celery ink.  Mats are SU! Garden Green and the paper is from my stash.  Jack's favorite colors are green and blue so this year I went with green.  I embossed the banner with a hearts folder and punched out three hearts from a MS border punch.  Well that will do it for me this morning.  It is still very hot and humid here so I want to get things done early in he day while we can still breathe outside.  Hope you all enjoy your day.  Thanks a bunch for peeking in on me.  See you soon.

Fall Basket

I'm back with another card I made using Deedee's August DOM set.  This time I went with the Fall Basket.  I used the pre-colored version and just added a little bit of Copic color here and there. It's hard to see but there is a bit of Wink of Steller on the bow and I used some gems from my stash and colored them chocolate brown with my Copic marker for the center of the flowers.  The little orange flower was also in my stash.
It is cut out with SB dies.  I've gone with both Lavender Lace and Elegant Eggplant card stock from SU! on this card. I embossed the Eggplant cs with a Swiss Dot folder.  I bit of gingham ribbon backs up the sentiment which is also from this set.   I just find this set so darn cute and I'll be working on the Christmas basket next.  There is still time to play along so please hop on over to Deedee's and have some fun with this great set.   Thanks for stopping by and I wish you all a wonderful day.

Masculine Birthday Card

I am here with a quick post sharing a card I made for my former boss today.  I kept it plain and simple, just his style.
I used an older SU! image and added a touch of color to the sails and made the clouds with Bashful Blue.  The birthday sentiment is also by SU! as is the paper.  It was cut out with square and scallop square dies from SB.  Thanks for popping in for a visit and I hope to see you again soon.

Raggedy Sisters

Hi, I'm here today to share a card I made with one of Deedee Anderson's newer sets titled "Raggedy Sisters".  I was an only child and only grand child, now I'm just the "old" one of the family.  LOL
I just adored this set and if I had a sister this would be a card I would make for her.

I decided to use the pre-colored version on this image just to save some time, but it also comes in a line version so you could do your own coloring.  I used a piece of paper I made a while back with alcohol inks.  The sentiment is also from this same set, but I'm thinking I might make some cards to send off to Cards For Hospitalized Kids using a more generic sentiment at a later date.  I also added a tiny red stick to dot the "i" in sister and a couple of white hearts from the SU Owl set.  Well I do hope you have a great day today and I would like to say thank you for paying me a visit.

Deedee's Digi Of The Month

I am here to share a card I made with Deedee Anderson's newest Digi Of The Month set.  This is a wonderful year round set and I have all sorts of card images in my head using this set so today's won't be the last you see of it from me.
This set includes a basket for all seasons and also an unfilled basket.  I used the pre-colored version of the summer basket, but added a bit of coloring myself with Copics because my printer acts up from time to time and doesn't give me great colors on the images.  As soon as you get a minute you might want to take a hop on over to Deedee's.  If you played along with us last month than you've already received this set and will, I'm sure, have as much fun with it as I am having. This is Deedee's Anniversary month so she has a great FREE offer to everyone so  head on over to Deedee' Digi's Challenge section now and check it out.  Thanks a bunch for stopping by and I hope to see you again soon.

Thinking Of You

Happy Monday Morning All. We are starting off the week with some heat, but no where nears as bad as last week, so I'm thankful for that.  I have just a quick post today with a card I made for a special friend.
I used a Hero Arts stencil with some Broken China ink of the bottom half.  Three strips of gold card stock and a sentiment by Hero Arts.  The image is a very old Stamping Up image that I purchased on EBay about 8 years ago.  I did stamp it twice and on one of them I did a tiny bit of coloring and found that I liked it better in black and white.  I then clear embossed it. A few scattered gold sequins for my finishing touch.  Thank you so very much for your visit today and I wish you all a great day.

Sympathy Card

Happy Monday To You All,  Hope your day is going good.  It is hot hear but no where near the humidity that we had yesterday, thank goodness.  Our PCP has a 13 year old Yorkie, Bella, who passed this past week.  Bella and our Daisey were littler mates (sisters).  Our Molly & Daisey are also sisters but from two different litters. They all have the same parents and grandparents.    There is a special closeness there with our girls and Bella.   When either Jack or I have to go to our doctor we end up talking more about our babies than we do our health.
I tried to make a very special card so I somewhat CASED a card I received once from Carol at Our Little Impressions.  I say somewhat because Carol makes the most beautiful cards around but I did give it a good try anyway.  I'm kind of happy with the turn out.  I wrote a very personal message on the inside.
It is done in Whisper White even though it looks like Very Vanilla here.  The sentiment is by SU! The flourish was done with some alcohol paper I made a while ago.   The paper is two tones and quite a bit lighter than it appears here.  The flowers are made with SU! and MS punches.  The gems are by Pizzazz APlenty.  That is about it for me today.  I wish you all a terrific night and thank you for taking a peek into my little corner of the world.  See you soon.

FINALLY - A Card

Hello everyone.  I've been MIA for over a month now and I apologize to everyone for not commenting on your blogs in such a long time.  We redid our entire house: carpeting, flooring, new furniture and decor so needless to say this house was in an uproar for quite a while and I didn't even have a working craft room for a long time.    I am back now and hopefully can stay on some sort of a regular schedule.  I made the first card I've made in over a month.  My youngest grandson is turning 21 in a couple of weeks so I thought I'd better get going on his card.
I made the paper with alcohol inks and stamped the SU image as well as the sentiment in Versa Mark and embossed it with Gold powder. As you can see I used black for my mats.  I'm happy with the way it turned out and I'm thinking (at least hoping) he will be to.  These kids and grandkids of mine are getting too old too fast.  I don't know how that happened since I'm only 29 myself.  LOL  That is the line my MIL used to use and now her new line is "I can't believe all my children are old enough to  collect Social Security".   Time does fly be doesn't it?  Well thanks for stopping by today and I wish you a great upcoming week ahead.  See you soon.

Diver Daniel

Happy Monday to you.  Hope you had a good weekend.  Ours was quite full and besides all the normal things we do on weekends my grandson graduated college on Saturday.  It was a lovely day.
Well It's the first of a new month which means it's time for another Deedee's Digi Of The Month Challenge.  You are going to love this one.  It is precious.  Here is what I made for this challenge.
This month's set is titled "Diver Daniel".  I just get a big kick out of Daniel, no matter what he is doing.  I used some retired SU papers and my corner chomper along with two different color ribbons and called it a day.  I love it when things come together so quickly especially this time of year when there is so much to do outside.  So glad you stopped by for a visit and we'd love to see you hop on over to Deedee's and join in on the fun this month.  There are a couple of different images and some great sentiments in this set so let your imagination run while.

Graduation Card

Good Tuesday Morning to all.  Well I've made my two graduations cards that I needed this week.  For this card I used Deedee Anderson's set titled "Congratulations Graduate", which is a wonderful set for making these cards.  It has both cute and serious sentiments so you have a nice array of cards you can go with.

Like my other card I kept this one plain and simple. I used the last little bit of gold paper( note to self, get more) I have and embossed it with the Swiss Dot folder.  I used Deedee's colored version of the Hat and her line drawing for the diploma and colored the ribbon with a touch of gold.  This one is for my Grandson.  Thanks for stopping by and I'd like to wish you all a great day.

Con "Grad"ulations

I need a couple of graduation cards this week so this is one of the more simple ones I made.  It is a one layer, CAS card that only took me five minutes to make.  My kind of card.  LOL
Both the image and sentiment are from Memory Box and I've had them for several years.  I just embossed one half of the face of the card with some hearts and that was it.  The person that is receiving this one is a no frills type of person, so I thought this would work great for her.  Thanks for taking a peek here today.  Hopefully I'll get my second card made this afternoon and if so I'll be back.
Enjoy your afternoon.

12 Months of Christmas Challenge

Hello to all of you out there.  I've been MIA again for this past week, down with Bronchitis.  Today is the first day I could talk without coughing my head off. So I'm hoping I stay on the healthy side now.  Anway I am here to share a card I made for the 12 Months of Christmas Challenge.  Deedee Anderson is sponsoring this challenge and I used one of her darling images for her " Jingle All The Way" set  for my card.   I think this set gives you such a nice array of images and sentiments for the holidays and I used one of each on my card.
I also used one of Deedee's digital papers from the "Christmas Cuties" set and a store bought poinsettia that was in my stash.   This image just makes me smile and I hope it will make someone else happy also.  If you get a chance why not hop on over to 12 Months Of Christmas and join in on the fun.  Thanks a bunch for stopping by for a visit.

Jingle Bells Challenge

Happy Friday to all.  I'm here today to share a card I made for the Jingle Belles Challenge.  Deedee Digi's is sponsoring this challenge so I used one of our set titled "Jingle All The Way" which you can find in Deedee's store here.   Here is what I came up with.
I started with some paper in my stash that was cut to the right size so I grabbed it and went from there.  The image is part of the pre-colored version of Deedee's set and I just printed it and cut it out with SB Circle and Scalloped Circle dies.  The sentiment, also from the same set.  I added a few gold stickers, rounded one corner and it was complete.   Thanks so much for stopping by and it would be wonderful if you would hop on over to Jingle Belles Challenge and make a card for this fun challenge. Deedee's also has many holiday sets that you could use to join in on this challenge.  Why not take a minute and stop by both sites.

National Scrap Book Day

Hi Everyone, I'm sorry I've not been around much lately.   We were taking care of our friend's 16 year old Yorkie for a week.  He is an absolute sweetheart but he is blind and deaf so I didn't want to do anything but keep an eye on him.  Other than those two problems he is very healthy and darling. So our house was filled with three Yorkies for a whole week and I was totally thrilled.

Well today is the 21st year of celebrating National Scrapbook Day and Deedee Anderson is having a challenge to honor this day. We are calling this "Lift A Design Team Card"   Some of  Deedee's DT have made either a scrapbook page or a card and we are asking you to CASE this page or case the layout to make a card.  We just ask that you use one of Deedee's images, sentiments or papers.    I have made a page with my two Yorkies, Molly & Daisey using some of Deedee Anderson's digi paper.
I used some of the paper from the "Traditional Ornamental" set.  I also printed out three of the ornaments from that set in sizes that would fit into my hearts and oval punches.  I added two candy cane brads that I've had for years to the right side.  My journal, which you can not read because of my poor photography skills,  tells about the time our babies went to get groomed and Dasiey, being the shy one, automatically ducked down as soon as she was put into the Santa basket.  As you can see I've also added some corner punches on my focal image and the outer edges of the page.  I thought that Deedee's ornament digital paper was just perfect for this picture.  I thank you for stopping by to visit and I hope you get a chance to play along with our challenge.  It will be running from May 2nd - May 9th so you have a whole week to enter.  There will be a winner picked and Deedee is offering a $21.00 gift card to her store and also a Guest Design Team spot. She is also offering a 21% discount off everything in her store this week to everyone.     (21 in honor of the 21st year of National Scrapbook day)   I can't wait to see what you come up with.

OWH Sketch #252

Happy Monday Morning to you all.  I'm here today with the sketch challenge over at Operation Write Home.  This was a nice sketch to work with. Here is my take on it.

I don't know why but my color is off on this picture.  The card base is Very Vanilla by SU! and yet it has a pink tone to it.  No pink here at all, trust me.  I think I'll call this my stash card because just about everything was from my stash: the paper, the flower the blue card stock (don't know who it was by-sorry) and I even had the left over ric rac punched pieces in my stash.  I printed the sentiment from the Gina K set titled "Vertical Sentiments".  I just love that set.  Now that I look at it on the screen I think I may add three more tiny pearls with the sentiment (top middle bottom) what do you think?   Thanks for popping in today.  I always appreciate the company.  Wishing you a good week.

CSSC #3

I'm here to share a card I made for Crooked Stamper Sketch Challenge #3.  I liked this sketch a lot and Leslie's challenges are always fun.   Sometimes I get carried away with a sketch and go off into another direction but this time I tried very hard to stick to the sketch.

The image is a stamp from Inkadinkado that I've had probably 3 years now and this is the first time I've inked it up.   I know that there is no flower that looks like this one know to man, but I was working outside earlier and maybe I got too much sun so I decided to make my flower three different colors.  I'm actually OK with how it looks.  The sentiment is by Hero Arts and is punched out with two  SU! punches.  The paper is also SU! (retired).  I used Very Vanilla and Chocolate Chip card stock.  I think I'll be using this sketch again in the near future.  Why not hop on over to The Crooked Stamper and join in on the fun.  I know Leslie would like to see what you come up with for this sketch.  Thanks for taking a peek here and I'm wishing you a nice Sunday evening.

W2SB #16 & SOS

W2SB and Shopping Our Stash are doing a combined challenge this week.  The theme  is "The Earth Has Music" the sights and sounds of spring.  I went with the "sights" of spring being beautiful flowers.  I have another friend that is retiring soon so I made her this card last night.  This card came about because I saw this paper in my stack of trusty 2007 Scrap Book Calendar papers.  To me this soft, sweet flowered paper seemed just right for these two challenges and I thought my friend would like this paper also.  I knew immediately what I wanted to do with it and that doesn't happen that often so when it does I have to act right away.

I thought this paper was so pretty so I matched it up with SU's Wild Wasabi Card Stock.  First I matted it both inside and out and then I dug out my (all too neglected) SB Scalloped Edgeabilities to add a fancy strip along the bottom. The sentiment, by Hero Arts, was stamped with Versa-mark and embossed with black powder to help it stand out against the printed paper.   After rounding all the top corners I added the sequins as a final touch.  The inside is stamped "Let the relaxation begin - Happy Retirement" which is a retired SU set.  I'm kind of pleased at how it turned out and I hope my friend will like it also.  I know, for sure, she will enjoy her retirement and we will be able to have more lunch dates now.
Don't forget to stop by both W2SB and Shopping Our Stash this week and join in on the fun.
Thanks for taking a peek into my little corner of the world and I wish you all a fabulous Wednesday.

A Blooming Birthday

I needed a birthday card for tomorrow and I love Deedee's new Blooming Blessings set so much that I went ahead and used one of the images from that set.  This makes 5 cards I've made in the past week using images from this set.

I am not even sure what type of flowers these are or if there is a certain color I should be using, but I happen to think they look very nice in blue.  They are colored with Copics and cut out with SB Square dies.  It does not seem to show but I added Glossy Accents for the flower centers.  The Sentiment is by CC Rubber Stamp Company.  I embossed the back panel with  a Swiss Dot folder. The blue mats look like two different shades in the picture but they are the same.  I colored them both with the B01 Copic marker. That will do it for me for today, but I do hope you are having a wonderful day.  It's kind of damp and raw and it scheduled to rain for the next three days.  Hey it's not freezing cold, so no complaints from me.  Thanks for stopping in for a visit.

April ODBD

I hope you all had a nice weekend.  I'm here to start this week off with a card for this month's challenge over at Operation Write Home.  This card is for the ODBD challenge  and they asked for masculine cards for this month.  If we get 50 cards made and posted ODBD will pay for the postage for two boxes of card heading over to our heroes.  Here is my card.

All the men in my life are the plain and simple, no fuss/muss, type men so that is the style I always use when making masculine cards for OWH. The paper is retired SU! The sentiment and heart are by Hero Arts and I stamped them in Versa-mark and then white embossed them.  There was a piece of twine sitting on my desk so I decided to tie that around the card.  Done!!!Thanks a bunch for your visit and I wish you a wonderful week. See ya soon.

A Little Thank You Bag

Happy Wednesday Afternoon.  Boy the week is half gone by already and I don't even know what I've done.  Anyway while we were in Savannagh, Ga. I went to this cute little store called The Salt Table that has hundreds of different types of salts and some sugars for sale.  I picked up some for myself and a friend of our that kept an eye on our house for us while we were gone.  So yesterday a made up this bag to put it all in.  I had some little bags in the attic but I felt like I wanted to make one for her.  So here it is.
I used a store bought white paper bag and covered it with some paper that was in my stash.  Then I punched a SU! Large Oval out of the bag for the handle.  Next I  took a store bought tag, covered the bottom half with the same paper, a strip of brown card stock and stamped this cute sentiment by SU! along with some SU ribbon.  I sponged the edges of the tag with some Rusty Hinge Distress Ink and added a couple of silver candi dots and was done.  I don't usually do too many "projects" but I was pleased with the way it turned out.  Thanks so much for paying a visit and I wish you all a good evening.

Deedee's Blooming Blessings

I'm sorry I've not been around to comment for a while but we took our first big trip in our RV for the past couple of weeks and some of the campgrounds had terrible or no WiFi service available.  I did not have the patience to sit and wait for ever for things to load up so I just shut the lap top off.  Enough of that though I am here today with a new Deedee's Digi of the Month Challenge for you. Once again Deedee has given us  a beautiful set to work with.  All the images and sentiments are terrific for any number of occasions.  I needed a very special Thank You card so that is the route I took.

As always these images in the set come in both pre-colored and line drawn, so this time I took some time and colored this one myself.  While we were in Florida we visited our friends who just purchased a house down there and they have used some oranges and browns in their decorating so I tried to follow their lead.  It is colored with Copics and then mounted on Chocolate Brown card stock.  The paper is retired SU! (what else from me- huh?)  This is a great set and if you played along with us last month you already have received this month's set in your email.  If not you can pick it up for a very low price at Deedee's Digi's.  We would love to see what you come up with this month and then, of course, get next month's set free.  Great deal all the way around.  My computer (or it's operator) cannot seem to get a picture of the entire set to print here so I would love it if you would just hop on over to DeeDee's and see the whole set for yourself.
I also wanted to let you know that you can always check out lots of cards and projects on Deedee's Instagram account: deedeesdigis.  Thanks for visiting here with me today and be sure to get in on this fun challenge.

Allsorts Challenge-Feature A Creature

I'm playing along over at Allsorts Challenge this week.  This challenge theme just makes me smile:  "Feature A Creature".  There are so many creatures to pick from.  Deedee's Digi Images is one of the sponsors this week so I went with an image and sentiment from Deedee's set titled "Monkey Business".  I think these are the cutest "creatures" I've seen in a long time.

This card was born because recently I had been playing around coloring embossing folders prior to running them through the Big Shot.  I just happened to use some copper ink so when I thought about this set and the blue barrel with the copper strips on it I realized that I had a good match going.  I just cut out both the pre-colored image with SB dies and the sentiment with punches.  The card stocks are Pacific Blue and Basic Black.   This went together very quickly, but taking photos of it took a lot longer and I still had trouble getting a clean, crisp shot of the sentiment part of the card.  It says "I go bananas for you".  I would like to thank you for taking the time to visit my today.  See you soon.

Something Yummy

Hi, I'm here today with a card I made for the Chocolate, Coffee & Cards challenge.  The theme for this challenge is Something Yummy to Eat or Drink.  Well how could I not play along seeing as how I love to eat and drink (soda - not coffee).  This challenge is sponsored by Deedee's Digi Images so I used one of her sweet images and sentiment which are both from the set titled "Snowman Soup".
I used the pre-colored version of the image along with the Warm Winter Wishes sentiment and just cut them out with both scallop and straight square SB dies.  The papers are retired from SU! The "hello" die is by MB and I cut it out twice and layered one on top of the other slightly off.  I added Wink of Stellar to the detail on the cup and the word "hello" but I am not so good at photography so you can't see it. (sorry) In real life it really does look pretty good.   Some gems on the banners and corners of the image panel are from Pizzazz APlenty.  Why not grab a piece of chocolate and a cup of coffee, sit down and join in on this sweet challenge and maybe win a nice prize.  Sounds like a good day to me.  Thanks a bunch for your visit.  Company is always appreciated.

Addicted to CAS

Hi I'm here today to share a card I made for the Addicted to CAS challenge.  This challenge is being sponsored by Deedee Anderson  so I used one of her sweet images for this card.  CAS is my go-to style of card to make.  The theme this week is to be inspired by "green"  which could mean just about anything green:  the color, recycled items, or anything that inspires us when we hear the word "green".  I went with the color green.

I started with Whipser White Card Stock by SU! as my card base and printed directly onto that.   I went with the pre-colored image and sentiment from Deedee's set titled "Birthday Bunnies".  With the pre-colored version of this darling image this card went together in under five minutes.   I made a green frame by using two SB dies then I added three gems from Pizzazz Aplenty and some Wink of Stellar to the candle and the hat topper.  You can't see any of it in the photo, but it is there, I promise.  LOL  I may end up making several of these and add them to my stash of cards to be donated.  I think just about everyone can find 5 minutes to make a card so why not hop on over to Deedee's, pick up a fun image, and then hop back to Addicted to CAS to play along with this challenge.  You won't be sorry you did and you have a chance of winning something special.  You'll also have a card to add to your stash, send out to someone or to donate.  It  win win!  Thanks so much for stopping by and I wish you a great day.

CSSC #2

Hello this week is flying by.  I planned every day to work on the Crooked Stamper Sketch Challenge #2 but today finally found the time to make a card for it.  I had a lot of fun making this card mainly because I absolutely adore this Elisabeth Bell stamp and I found so much time that I colored two more in  different colors for the boy's outfit.   So you will see this stamp again throughout the year.  I figured these could make good general cards or Christmas cards.  I always think of a boy playing with trains on Christmas morning.  I'm aging myself saying that, but it's true.

As you can see I flipped Leslie's sketch which is fine with Leslie.  I colored my image with Copics.  I cut it out with oval and scallop ovals by SB after I sponged around the edges of the oval. The sentiment is by Hero Arts and cut out with punches.    The background card stock is Very Vanilla and stamped with a retired background stamp by SU!  I used a retired punch on two of the corners.  The mats are Chocolate Chip by SU!. Wow I use a lot of retired  items, but I like them and seem to grab for what I know and like. I could fill a store with the SU! papers that I have.  LOL    Thanks a bunch for stopping by today.  Why not hop over to The Crooked Stamper and join in on the fun.  Leslie would love to have you visit and play along.  Wishing you all a nice evening.

March ODBD Challenge

I'm sharing a card I made for the ODBD Challenge over at OWH.  This month they have challenged us to make a card where the sentiment is the main focal point.  Here is what I came up with.
I used a stamp I've had for ages.  It is a 2001 SU! Stamp.  I don't even remember if it belongs to a set or I purchased it separately from someone.  My mind is not that big so I think it automatically throws out old information to make room for new stuff.  Anyway I stamped it in VeraMark, embossed it with black powder then cut it out with a SB die.  I sponged some Peeled Pain Distress ink around the edges then and ran my multiliner around it.  I added some pink brads to try to pick up the pink in the retired SU! paper.   I used an old SU! punch on all the corners also. That's all I have for today.  It is fairly warm today, high 30's, which is very warm compared to what we've had lately so I'm heading out to do some shopping which I have decided is what I do best in life.  LOL  Thanks for stopping by today and I'd like to wish you all a fun day.

W2SB - In Like A Lion Out Like A Lamb

I'm here to share a card I made for the Words 2 Scrap By Challenge for March which is "In Like A Lion Out Like A Lamb".  You can make a card using any type of weather, lions or lambs, a lot of options here.  I decided go with something to represent pretty spring colors.  I guess a lot of you will being seeing some early flowers bloom in March, but I don't think we will around here so I decided to make a card with a flower on it so I could see flowers one way or another.  I used the Lotus Blossom from SU! which I have been using a lot the past couple of weeks.

I started with my flower using a couple of different shades of purple, then I decided I needed some sort of a background so I inked up a pencil eraser in three colors and went to town.   The sentiment is by Simply Stamped and I bought this at a craft show back in 2004 but I think I've only used it a few times.  I think I'll keep it out and make better use of it.    I used SU! Pink Passion card stock but it is not really this bright.  I adjusted the color when editing and now everything is way too bright even the designer paper which is from that famous Scrapbooking Calendar that I have stashed away.  This paper really has a nice soft look to it.    The border punch is MS punched on two sides of a strip of paper, then I backed it up with a strip of white paper.  I noticed that this strip was crooked so I fixed it and tried to take another picture but my computer is acting up and the whole thing looks purple even the white parts, so just know that I did fix it. I guess today is not my day for working with electronics.   I just have days like this from time to time.  I added three gold stickers to the punched strip and three smaller ones to the purple dots. Hope you all have a nice evening.

OWH Sketch Challenge #249

I'm here to share my card for Operation Write Home's Sketch Challenge #249.  This challenge is being sponsored by Doodle Pantry so I used one of their pre-colored images and sentiment.

For some reason I can't seem to upload the photo for the sketch and I noticed that I am not the only one having this problem.  Thank goodness or I would have thought it was just me.

This challenge had me stumped for hours because I wanted to make something other than squares or banners for the vertical strip.  I finally went back to my older SU! punches and came up with this one and the corner punch also.  The paper is retired SU! also.  The flower is made of two different felt flowers and a white brad.  They were in my stash and I've had them forever so I have no idea who they are by.  That will do it for me today.  Hope you all have a fun evening and I do want to say thank you for your visit.  See you soon.

Right On Track

Deedee Anderson has come up with another adorable set titled "Right On Track".  This set is so festive and versatile.  It is also our Digi Of The Month set to work with.  If you played along with us last month you have already received this set, if not you can buy it for a very low price during the month of March.  Please hop on over Deedee's Digis to check it out.    Here is the first card I've made with it.  There will be more to come for sure.
I used the pre-colored image but I had to touch it up a bit because I have a very temperamental printer and today it just did not want to print with the fun, vibrant colors that Deedee has put into the set. I also added one of the several different sentiments from the set.  The paper is from my stash and the blue card stock was embossed with a Darice embossing folder.   I added some negative hearts from the MS punch and covered them with Glossy Accents to help them stand out a bit more.  That was it.  I was able to get a cute card done in a matter of minutes.  That will have to do it for me today but I did want to thank you for stopping by.  See you again soon.

Completely Christmas

Hi Everyone,  I'm here to share a card I made for this week's Completely Christmas Challenge, which is to add Texture.   Both my image and the sentiment are from a set titled "Ornamental (Comtempo) by DeeDee Anderson found here.  I love this set.  These ornaments are so very pretty and I liked using  non-traditional colors for a change.
I simply printed out the pre-colored image and sentiment on one sheet of paper and stamped a tree branch with a very old stamp. So old that I don't know who it is by because I removed it from it's wooden base and forgot to make a notation as to the manufacturer.  (sorry) I colored the branch with two different colored SU! markers before stamping. After I cut a SB Oval out of the center of my card stock I embossed it with a Darice folder on SU!  Rich Razzleberry card stock.  I added a green gem to the center of the ornament and a few scattered pearl gems in the center of some of the snowflakes.  The gems are from Pizzazz Aplenty.  That was a nice easy card to make.  Thanks a bunch for your visit.  Hope to see you again soon.
