Hi All, I jumped on the bandwagon and joined the On Line Class "Pattern Play" which offers so much about working with patterned papers. I'm very happy that I joined in. I've never had so much fun doing "homework". I'm doing these cards out of order so I believe these two are from day 2 which profiled Resist on Patterned Paper. I have very few background stamps and none of them worked well for this technique, but I went with it anyway.
In this first card I used an older SU background stamp which, I think, is way too busy for this technique, but I used it anyway. Surprisingly enough I ended up happy with the result.
For my second attempt I used a regular, larger stamp (also retired from SU) and stamped in several areas of my pattern paper. I was kind of pleased with the end result of this one also. I am going to enter this card into the Seize The Birthday challenge.
I ran out last night to buy the Hero Arts stamp that was used in the video because I loved the look of the cards using that stamp. I'll try again later on today with my new stamp. I swore I wasn't buying anything new for a while, but you all know how that goes. I'm just an stamping addict and can't help myself. Off to try to catch up with my homework for this class, so I'll be back later with more cards to share. Thanks a bunch for stopping by. See you again soon.
Fantastic cards and technique!!!! Have a wonderful weekend!
ReplyDeleteBoth cards are beautiful, Donna! Great job on your "homework" - lol!
ReplyDeleteGreat technique! I'm definitely going to try it. Beautiful cards!
ReplyDeleteI just could not get my head into this technique and you did beautifully on BOTH!!!! I kept thinking I didn't have any type of stamp to use! I'll have to re-think my thinking now!
ReplyDeleteBoth of these are just gorgeous!! Love the colors on that first one and the stamp you used on the second! SO pretty!

Donna, this is a fabulous card using the technique. I love all the pretty blue on the first and the sweet pink on the second.
ReplyDeleteHave a fabulous weekend.
These are both gorgeous! I rarely ever think to stamp on dsp, but what a great result! I love the blue design with the flower, and the sentiment on the pink one is absolutely gorgeous! Way to rock your homework :)

ReplyDeleteOh, Donna, I love both of these and think the first one is great, even on that 'busy' paper. The blue just works fantastically on that gray pattern. The second card is a spectacular interpretation of the sketch! I'm hoping to get something done for that one this week. Thanks for the great inspiration. :-D
